We are launching a new contest, code named “Erudite”. For seven days, from August 24th until August 31st, from 13:00 UTC until 18:00 UTC, you just have to… play in Matchmaking battles. Is that all? Of course not! A spectator can join your battle at any moment and ask a question related to the game. Your task will be to answer the question correctly within a short amount of time. Spectators love very erudite tankers, so: If a question is answered during the first 30 seconds, the player who answered correctly first will get 1 container* and 10 gold boxes will be dropped in the game. However, if no one answers correctly or if someone answers after the 30 seconds are up, only one goldbox will be dropped. *A container will be added to the account during the first 24 hours after the right answer. Hello, tankers! Please welcome back the second edition of the old but gold Puzzles contest. Do you read the announcements on the main page? In the next few days you will need to check all of them. The idea is simple. We have an image - a screenshot taken in a Tanki battle. We have split it into 36 parts and hidden each part in the announcements on the main page. The first 12 parts will appear on Friday, August 21st, right after the V-LOG, at 13:00 UTC. The next 12 parts will appear on Saturday, August 22nd, at 9:00 UTC, and the last parts will appear on Sunday, August 23rd, at 9:00 UTC. Be aware that this time puzzle parts of 1st day will disappear on 2nd day and so on. Before you start looking for these parts, you will need to enter the special contest page, log in, and get your personal code. When you find a part of the puzzle, there will be a form for you to enter your code and an OK button to click on. Once you have done these steps, your progress is counted and you will be able to see how many parts you have already found. You can also track your progress on the contest page. On Monday, August 24th at 9 UTC we will stop accepting entries and will start proceeding with the results. In just a little while, the majority of you will go back to school to discover new knowledge, and the mood will change drastically. But if you want to rock those summer vibes just a bit longer, we encourage you to participate in our newest contest, “How I spent the summer.” Your task is to take a photo depicting how you spent your summer with Tanki Online. Feel free to be as creative as you can with the picture. For example, you can write something in the sand, with rocks or fruits, make a sculpture out of sand, and much, much more. Your creativity is the only limit! To participate you have to: Make sure your nickname, the contest name, and the year (2020) are visible on your entry (the easiest way will be to do it on the paper near your work, though creative methods can help you win). Take a photo of your work. Missions and Challenges are additional activities. You do not have to complete them, you can just keep playing and do not focus on completing them. What would you choose: to have these missions or to not have any rewards at all? You get rewards for playing. You do not have to do something extraordinary like "Win a tournament" or "Spend 2 hours in chat" to get them, you just need to play and that's it.

You do not have to buy special bundles. They usually have skins or containers which you can get from Challenges or Missions or you can just play without skins.

Added «Anisotropic filtering» technology for textures of all hulls and turrets. Search input is not displayed in the Friends screen if you have less than 10 friends or friend requests. Changed the text of an error which is shown when you try to register an account with a nickname that is too short. “Play” button is not active anymore unless you enter your account credentials. The challenge widget now shows a "Completed" text, if you have finished all tiers. The button to buy stars or Premium Pass is not shown any more when you finish a challenge. If you are invited to a MM group, the “Play” button and buttons responsible for choosing mode are not active. The tooltip indicator is not shown when you scroll MM modes to the end. The “copy link” buttons are visually changed when you copy the link. Placeholder text is grey now and when you click on Search input, it disappears. Added tooltips for paint rarity categories. Hundreds of blueprints, calculations and unconventional decisions were made. In the end we got the heavy, multi-tone machine to hover. Yes-yes, Ares is a heavy hull. Hovering Thanks to the never-ending work of its engines the Ares hull can hover over the ground with a small altitude. When Ares is placed under enemy fire, it tries to return itself to a stable position. If the roll limit exceeds a certain maximum, the engines will fail and Ares will flip. Movement mechanics The uniquity of the hull movement is that it does not turn, but “strafes” in the given direction. The hull will perfectly fit mobile gameplay. It is stable, has a lot of armour, and controlling it on the touch-screen is a pleasure. There are two different possibilities to control the hull on the PC: keyboard + mouse and only keyboard. Keyboard + Mouse: Hull moves forwards, backwards and to the side; Strafing instead of turning the hull; Strafe direction depends on the current camera position; Forwards, backwards, left and right are always controlled by the camera position; The hull turns with the camera. Keyboard only: The hull is controlled like a usual tank. Important: to switch to keyboard control, you need to disable mouse controls in the game settings. Without disabling mouse controls, you cannot rotate the hull. BFG BFG is the name of Ares’s unique Overdrive. Remember the gun integrated into the hull? Here it is! This overdrive shoots a plasma ball that looks just like a ball of lightning. It flies slowly and finally explodes when it hits a static obstacle, dealing splash damage. The lightning ball strikes tanks that are within a certain distance of the ball. It heals allied tanks and deals damage to enemy tanks, ignoring their modules. Ares’s Overdrive’s interactions with other Overdrives The ball of plasma: might be shot down by Hunter’s electromagnetic pulse; explodes when contacting an enemy plasma ball; neutralizes itself when the protective shield generator is activated; can not be deactivated with Wasp’s N2-bomb. Answer to the main question Ares floats. What about mines? What about supply drops? It’s simple.
