2 - Defending

Maintaining your defense throughout the game, Situational defense, Positioning the eagles, Interacting with other players, the foundamentals and beyond :)

As an introduction, its my belief that in all the maps for both the teams, (except Barda and the blue team of Tribute), one of the players should take a position close to the flag. Defending with or without the "last defender" who sits on flag is only good on paper, Every place is well defended, the attackers have no where to slip through, but when it comes to a game, for example. A person who was defending and he died, spawns on the opposite side of the map. There was no final defender at the flag. Thus the team doesn't know about the attackers, their numbers and positions. The hamster takes the flag with a Nitro and runs to capture it. No one knows where he went or what path he took, the final glimpses of the flag are seen by the attackers at the enemy base as he captures the flag.

So, all these examples are hereby placed with one thing in mind that is, the team is defending with one player, always on the flag. Who is the last defender, who will quite possibly stay alive until the very end.

2.1 The last defender

I'd like to begin by saying that the last defender on the team should be the best of the best in camping. This idea is accepted by most clans but it is wrong. Defending requires a skill that is lacked in campers. Holding your position, when it comes to comparing the this skill of campers and "laste defenders" (will be referred to as a rat), campers can't manage it. The position of the rats is the most difficult position in the game, as you have to manage with the little space that you have. Campers can make mistakes, die and get back to their spot. But if rats make mistakes they lose a flag. Rats in other words, have no rights to make mistakes, they must think every possibility as they sit behind the base waiting for the enemy team to take the flag. The team expects 100% efficiency from a rat, and the best ones give it.

The first duty is to see everything, and to do this you need move your turret from left to right and back. Change the camera view, Don't just aim or look at the attack in front if he's dead anyway, For example in tribute blue team, your team could need you in some place near your flag, left or right. If you're using Railgun, during the time you charge your shot. Don't just sit there like a doll looking at the enemy, go somewhere else, take a look, then come back and shoot. And try not to sit there waiting for the enemy team to go through your defenders before attacking them. Remember, that way, only one of your team will survive. But if you help them, two might survive.

But these are more critical examples, there are mroe examples like what if the enemy players don't take a direct route, what if they come from behind you, what if they come from the most unexpected of all places, from the middle. If such scenarios do happen there is a lot of chance to miss the flag. What if there are more enemies than he could deal with. The enemy takes the flag and the rat doesn't say a word. It all comes down to one fact, the rat could have prevented it by stating exactly how many enemies are coming from what side. Remember, if the rat doesn't ask for help, no one can help.

As soon as he sees a chance of the enemy taking a flag, he should instantly inform the team about the danger, even if it is low.

To summarize this, the rat has only few things to do, Constantly look around and be aware, Like an Isida is aware about all his teammates, he should be aware of the enemy team.

Therefore, the rat should not only see everything but also ask others about what is happening around him. For example, the red team's rat on Kungur doesn't know what is happening under the bridge. Tribute, Blue team's rat doesn't know what is happening at the right side of the houses.

But of course, the players themselves should also be informing the rest of the team about the advancements of the enemy team. But they do not tell the rat about his area of interest. That is, the places he cannot see even with camera controls.

Clan relations

 

We will be having a HC meeting soon to take another look over our activities and our relations with other clans. It is advised to all members to stay out of the enemy's side against Dare Devils and King of Tank, help them if they look like they need it and also make sure not to offend any of them.

 

There aren't many English clans out there and we have to be friends with the few we have.

 

So lay low until the HC decides otherwise.
