Problem with your theory is that part of those 281 cry he has is those 33. So he could not have spent them and still have the same amount unless he were to buy 33 cry which i see no point in doing. EDIT: Also, there in the garage picture is the message about getting a reward for his first purchase. He did not buy to do this. I think it might just be a server lag that happened to give him two daily bonuses.
