merge Magnum’s Place in Tanki Classic — A Community‑Backed, Era‑Accurate Proposal
Maf replied to cheddarboogercheze12 in Ideas and Suggestions
I think there were about 5 years between addition of Shaft and addition of Hammer (with Vulcan shortly afterwards). So to me the 2011-2015 period is the cutoff between classic and modern tanki. And also the move the brand new HTML interface was a major turning point. -

Man, I'm so glad I was I&S curator in the golden years of the forum when I didn't need to waste time reading AI-generated text. When a long idea was posted back then, you immediately knew it was gonna be a masterpiece. As for the idea itself — absolutely not. Magnum is one of the items widely regarded as "ruining the game" due to it being designed to camp out of sight and bombard enemies from a distance. So not only is it a camper weapon, but it can fire in a way where you can't even fight back without having to get close. You only say that it's a classic turret because you probably started playing around the time it was introduced. I started in 2011, and for me Shaft is a "new turret", which arguably doesn't belong in Tanki Classic. There's no right answer for "what is the correct year for Tanki Classic?". -
Yeah I don't actually agree with the idea either.

You did the same thing with augments though. Before, I saw a turret and imediately knew how fast it will shoot me what kind of damage it will deal. Then the first set of augments was added, but that was okay since the augments didn't drastically change the turrets. Plus the R/V button let me see the augment as the enemy was approaching. But now I see an enemy Hammer and I have no idea if it will burn/freeze/stun me, or snipe me from a distance, or oneshot me, or barrage me with a huge clip... It's a mess. Do you regret this side effect of augments to a point where you'd never implement sonething like it for grenades?

I clicked on it and all 4 missions were just the same poster trying to sell me a $10 million mansion. The bad news is that I don't have that much money. The good news is, by watching these ads I'm getting filthy rich in other ways!

What Tanki really needs is dedicated spawn areas, so that there's no such thing as literally spawn camping, and there's no situation where you're genuinely playing the game (like on Sandbox CTF) and an enemy uses spawn protection to kill you while you can't damage them. But I'm afraid it's too late, since it would require reworking every single map to create dedicated spawn zones, inaccessible to enemies.

It was like 3 or 4 years ago, so I'm sure plans changed since then. No idea where to find the exact post. At this point I'd be very surprised if they actually add a new game mode.

Source: dude trust me

Opex already said that if they were to add a new game mode, it would likely be this one. Not sure if it's ever happening though.

But what if you could sell each attribute as a legendary container reward for each grenade individually?

declined Give players the option to play matchmaking without gaining xp.

I'm assuming you're suggesting this because you yourself would like to buy and use such a pass. So therefore I wonder how much you personally would be willing to spend on a pass like that? If it were added, it would 100% require premium currency. Probably not even rubies, but tankoins. My guess would be a minimum $30 equivalent in tankoins for a month pass. -
Can someone do a tl;dr please?

Fair enough. That said, I started playing again since last week and been enjoying Sustainable Nanobots a lot. I think it's way more than 5/10.
