No, they never look at karma to watch videos.. They only check out your karma is when you apply for a job, and they need to give you powers (Forum powers/Chat powers).

They don't base the judging at all on karma. It's just that, if you win, later on it'll be hard to have spec if you have a really bad karma. But not impossible.
