Cool, though I don't agree that if you are defending you have a bad DL.. I defend with my m3 freeze titan, and steadily get a 2.0 or over. It (like you said) determines how hard you are trying, as if you try hard, you will have a good DL. Doesn't apply to isidas :P

If you have a good paint already get thunder, if not get the paint.

Isida m1 helps for quicker rankups Get thunder, so many smoky protective paints are out there now, it's almost useless. Don't get a paint yet but work towards emerald Hornet m1

Fire m2 for mass killing, thunder m2 for some versatility I keep my stand, get rustle. Everyone bought freeze and thunder with the sale, so you need pro from that. Freeze is the best, get it. Hornet is great for cruising around, it's a good hull for freeze. Don't buy something that isn't in your 'goals' just either save and wait, or at a minimum get ONE of those. Freeze is overpowered for attacking, that's why they removed it from clan war formats :D Everyone at my rank now has freeze thunder or rail, so having rail protection is a fabulous idea! Those other protections will help too, and though I normally would say wait to get a paint go ahead and buy it, electra isn't great. Depends on what you want more. I'd say get freeze m2 and then buy hornet m2 when you have enough, but I'm a heavy freeze user so I am a little biased.

Saving for m3/better paints sounds like a better option to me.

Save those crystals, they will come in very handy when you start looking to upgrade a hull or gun to m3. Buying turrets you won't use is really not worth it, I've made that mistake before.

I have irbis, I don't use it very much at all though, so I would recommend saving your crystals for a better paint later down the road. No, rico m2 is quite good. It's a strong competitor with all the other mid - long range guns out there, you will be astisfied. Cheap - rustle, Expensive - Inferno, Rock, Zeus Freeze is the most powerful of the three, and at your rank it deals out a huge amount of damage relative to the tanks available for your opponents. I'm buying m2 titan so I will let you know how it handles, I think you should get that. Buy a paint if you don't have a fairly expensive one already. I'll get back to you in more detail if you tell me what paints you have, I have a lot of people to answer :P What are your options, I have no idea how you like to play or what you have already! Sandstone has better spread out protection, and prodigi is like digital, only so much better and not a whole lot more expensive. Rustle is better than sandstone by far, it protects from the more common weapons that appear on the battlefield. I personally use m3 viking m3 freeze and inferno, can'ty go wrong with that, it's my favorite combo! Railgun suits the hulls you have better, shaft is harder to use and less versatile. Railgun you can use for many styles of play Any questions about the response I gave to YOU specifically, please ask! I had a lot of people to answer!

I would say Viking, though some prefer Dictator because of the increased speed. Viking has a better profile in my opinion. I am not sure what paints are available at your rank, tell me what your options are and I will let you know what I think. Hornet m1 is better and more commonly used for players your rank.

Yeah madness is coming back, and so are all the other maps, but redesigned! Don't buy a new paint until you can get an expensive one like inferno, zeus, clay, etc. Save your crystals for discounts and other special events in 2014! Don't MU until you have an m3 weapon.

So, the thing about twins you have to remember, is that it is more of a close range than a mid range gun. With a total range of 80m, that's hardly anything compared to a railgunner or smoky. They could be across the map picking you off, and try as you might you would never hit them unless you got closer. Also, twins does the most damage at 30m, after that it starts decreasing. I would recommend twins for the attacker or defender , who stays in close proximity to the opponent, but not for a sniper like you. Stick with thunder and rail, if you want something new try out smoky! I use my m3 railgun effectively with my m3 hornet, when I decide to play railgun. It's small so it can fit into great sniping areas, it's quick to move between areas of cover, which is good when you have a drugging enemy headed your way, and it has a decent amount of health so if you do get caught, you still have a chance. Dictator is strong, but big and bulky, not great for a tanki assasin or a railgun user. Spark, I bought it and still use it today. Ricochet can be super annoying at times. Fun-wise, I'd say m2 firebird. You have more options to assassinate the opponent, rather than just picking them off with super powered splash damage effect. Getting rustle is also a good idea. so if you have any m2 turrets you like to use regularly, just buy the paint and save for one of those hulls at a later sale. If you have an overall goal, don't stray from the path, you are going to want the crystals when the time comes to upgrade.

You are right that a paint would be useless at your rank. Wait to buy ONE like rustle a captain or higher, then set your aim high on TWO or THREE top grade paints like clay, Zeus, or inferno. Buying both hulls could be beneficial if you are still testing out styles of gameplay, but once you know your style well don't upgrade other turrets or hulls mindlessly just for the sake of getting something new. Since you have an m2 gun already, definitely go for a hull! The hulls are what move you across the battlefield and capture flags, and ultimately what give you points. It's CRUCIAL to have a reliable hull, and hornet has the perfect valence of speed, acceleration, and stability. Once you get comfortable with your upgraded hull then consider buying another turret.

Then get hornet m2, you are still in need of a good m2 hull If you only get one hull, get hornet for your freeze, hornet and freeze go well together.

Well I personally use m3 freeze and m3 viking, with inferno paint. Sometimes I like to whip out my hornet for cruising around and capturing flags, but viking has served me well since before the rebalence, as has my freeze. When I'm feeling in a long range mood, I whip out my smoky or railgun, but usually end up back with freeze due to my lack of practice with those type of guns. After the recent updates, there's no "bad" gun to use, you just have to find the combination that works best for you. Of all your options, I would say getting the medium m2 kit that you wanted sounds like a very versatile solution, if you like thunder. If not, buy each item individually. That's a very controversial topic, some will say definitely, others will think you are crazy if you do buy it, and my personal opinion is that yes, it is still worth it, though it is significantly de-powered relative to some of the other options out there. Yes, it will win many head to head face offs, but now it is a little harder to hit moving targets, that's the only thing that has been changed. So if you don't mind slower shots, it's totally worth the cost! I like using a freeze turret with a light/medium hull for the maps you listed, it really depends if you want a good DL, want to help your team, want to help yourself, or just want to have fun! I feel like I've answered a similar question already, maybe you asked this before? I feel like overal you will benefit more greatly from saving up, as who knows what will be released in 2014 that could help you achieve your overall goal! Your plan to get m2 hornet m2 rail is good, and I think that you will like thunder more than smoky, as I have smoky m3 and it's not as good as m3 thunder IN MY OPINION. Some may find it better, and it very well may be, it's just my experience. It's hard to compare turrets and hulls, as they have different functions, but if you are looking for the most versatile of the two, choose hornet m2.v If you already play with thunder, keep upgrading that and get rustle! I would normally say get freeze, but you already have an m2 close range gun, so you should get something a little more versatile!

Okay, then get the hull first. Hornet m2 I think is what you are going to want. The m2 hull kit is not worth it, you get no turrets. If you buy m2 hornet, save the rest for isida m2.
