Refreshing several time might do the trick. When the test server is open, it becomes overloaded quickly and starts to lag in various aspects. The only real solution would be to have less players joining the test server.

You can only buy gold boxes with real money, not with crystals. In the test server you can not buy anything with real money simply because you do not get to keep anything in the test server. Considering it's already two years after 2014 and considering most people get bored of playing a game for years, perhaps it's not really Tanki getting worse, but the older players growing tired of the game.
