People keep thinking shaft sucks so bad. Just because its not op anymore doesn mean its useless. With enough practice, you learn how to aim quickly due to the fact that you have to hide your laser pointer a few pixels away so you dont scare off enemies. In CTF, they are superb for area denial tactics. A competent shaft can lockdown an area and force enemies into a predictable pathway for fellow teammates to exploit. An MLG shaft can quickscope when under fire and kill puny hulls that use their fancy footwork. If you have medium hull, you can move around more and be unpredictable. As a shaft user, i can still get tons of kills!

The flaw is that it has a pitiful range and if it doesn't detonate it's payload in time, it does not explode and kill enemies, just yourself. It's a high risk high reward turret and it takes some skill to get in the best position to explode on multiple hulls.

I noticed that a lot of heavy druggers suck so bad once they are confronted by another person that can drug them back(a.k.a. me) but has more skill bc I'm used to getting kills and avoiding damage WITHOUT drugs. Most heavy druggers usually put themselves in terrible tactical positions that leaves them exposed bc they are used to surviving easily on repair. Most of them also use their repair kit too early, too. All I have to do is activate DA first then my repair kit AFTER them, then they just wither and die a slow agonizing death.
