Smoky M1 is worth it--I rule with it on my alt account, but Railgun and Isida are also good if you don't want to wait until Colonel to get M2.

Yes, but did you ever think of the possibility that they are called Micro-Upgrades just because it sounds better? Mini-Upgrades or something like that does not sound very good at all. Still, you may be right.

Probably because with micro upgrades every weapon and hull will become more powerful and so there won't be any overall difference in the gameplay or power against other weapons and hulls. Unless of course you don't have enough crystals for getting the micro upgrades ;)

I would probably have Thunder M3 (or nearly enough crystals for it), Hornet M2, Dictator M2, Railgun M3, Twins M3 etc.
