Well, it depends of everyone. The ideal duration of sleep is biologically different for each person, it varies between 3 and 12 hours. I can sleep only 4-5 hours and I will be able to go to work. I usually fall asleep around 1 am. But in reality, we are not designed to sleep 8-9 hours in a row. Normally, we should have 4 hours of sleep, then a period when we wake up and do an activity for about 2 hours, then again 4 hours of sleep. But today's society prevents us from having such a rhythm of sleep. Unless you go to sleep at 8:00 PM, wake up at midnight and go back to bed at 2:00 AM ^^
