Nah, I would recommend Mammoth. It'll be very hard to destroy you at close/middle range. Remember the golden rule...

Raligun M1 is a very good weapon. Trust me, I have it. Don't buy drugs, get daily bonuses. I rarely buy paints (though I use Forester, cheap with decent protection from my fellow Railguns. It makes a lot of difference - without it, it would take two shots for a Railgun M1 to destroy my Viking M1, but with it, it's 3). Save your crystals, and earn them :)
