Well, the series goes downhill from the first book (which is awesome), IMO, and just collapses at the end of the mediocre third one.
-
Mhmm, it's all about how you phrase your application.

Yep, agreed. Well, it is large and bulky, I guess, but statistically I think it should be considered medium.

Yeah, 14 actually  And I'm not the youngest

Contest [Issue 15] Part 4: You decide!
GoldRock replied to GoldRock in [Issue 15] Part 4: You decide! Newspaper Archive
So, I have been writing a fictional series for the Tanki newspaper. And now I have reached the last part. Would you dare to think that you can write better than a reporter? If so, you've come to the right place. Read the first part of my series here. Read the second part of my series here. Read the third part of my series here. The task: I have written an ending for my series which is below 500 words in length. Write your own ending in under 500 words, in the futile hope that my fellow reporters might consider it better than mine. The reward: If the majority of my fellow reporters vote your ending to be better than the one I have written, you win... 100,000 crystals! It's that easy. Or should I say, that hard... Consolation prizes of 10,000 crystals will be given to any of the entries which do not win the main prize, though which I deem worthy of such recognition. Entries must be sent through PM to @loktinho, and the deadline for submission of entries is 25th September. Good luck, though be warned - if no one's entries are voted better than my own ending by my fellow reporters, no one will win the grand prize of 100,000 crystals. -
Interview [Issue 15] In the Community Spotlight: lizerdgirl108
GoldRock replied to GoldRock in [Issue 15] In the Community Spotlight: lizerdgirl108 Newspaper Archive
Welcome! This is the first article in a new series, "In the Community Spotlight"! In the series, I'll be interviewing one player each issue who has been 'in the spotlight' during the previous month. As most of you know, @lizerdgirl108 has recently enjoyed success in the Miss Tanki contest with , coming second in the players' choice! This hasn't been the first time she's won anything, either - she was rewarded for a while ago, too. So, in light of this success, I asked lizerd if she could be interviewed, and she graciously agreed to take part. Here it is, and I hope you find it a good read: Welcome to the first interview of "In the Community Spotlight"! Thanks for taking part :) No problem :D I'm happy to be involved :D So, let's get down to the questions. Firstly, could you give our readers some brief background info about yourself? For example, what's your first name/age/nationality? When did you join Tanki? When/why did you become involved in the forum community? Well... I don't like my real name. It's Olivia but I rather that I'm called Olive, Liz, Lizzy, or Lizerd. I'm 16 years old and I'm from the United States of America :) I started playing Tanki at a sleepover with my friend. It was around 1 in the morning around September of last year and my friend was showing me this cool game that she found on the Google Chrome Web Store, not thinking I'd actually like it. I was obsessed the first night but didn't play much after that and didn't come back until about a month later, yet I still didn't play very seriously then. I then joined the forum in November but I didn't become frequently active in the game or the forum until February of this year. Also, just wondering, but where did you get your username from? Don't worry, I'm sure our readers realise how hard it can be to spell 'lizard' correctly ;) It was my YouTube username at first.. and I liked it so I used it for my Tanki account. I didn't know what would happen if I put "girl" in the name. 0.0 But as I say to everyone whoa asks about my name, I came up with the name lizerdgirl108 because... I like lizards (duh)... I'm a girl (duh)... and I'm a rebel because I spell "lizard" wrong. And it's funny you said that. Some people have told me they started spelling lizard wrong since they met me. xD Thirdly, what are your aims for your Tanki career? I've heard you're a talented Firebird user ^_^ I'm really not all that serious about Tanki... (like some people)... I don't really have plans... I just kinda... go with the flow... and yea... I've heard that too xD I'm gonna hopefully upgrade to m2 firebird and update to m2 hornet... but I need to rank up to do that and who knows when that will be.. As far as clans and teams... I have not joined one and I've made it clear that I won't join one for a while despite the offers. On a similar subject, I heard you had success in the Best of Guides with an entry for Firebird. Did you expect to win anything, and what was your reaction when you did? I didn't expect to win anything. I was told I wouldn't win by other players. I didn't think I would win anything myself... I didn't even log on to the find out I was a runner-up. Skype was flooded telling me. ^_^ My first thought when I was told that I had won was .... Oh...crap.. I have to take part in that battle with the developers. That should be....er... interesting. You also took part in the battle against the developers in order to try to attempt to double your winnings, but the attempt failed. How did you find that battle? Did you feel outclassed, due to playing with and against so many experienced and high-ranked players? I found the battle really fun. It was scary playing against experienced players but when we got into it, I forgot about being nervous. The higher ranked players on my team were very organized and helpful and I knew what to do when I was in the battle. After the battle was over, all the other players were upset about our loss but I was just happy to have had the experience. :) Recently, you entered the Miss Tanki contest, and came second in the players' choice? What are your thoughts on this? As a violin player myself, I appreciate that your entry (which involved you playing the violin on roller skates) must have taken some practice. How long did you spend on it? I really didn't expect to win THAT either. I just kinda entered for fun and it was worth a shot. If I won then that's cool! If I lost... oh well! Bummer! Maybe another time. I spent probably an hour thinking about what I wanted to do. I had to get roller skates because (funny story) my mom threw away my old ones because there were two left footed ones because my sister gave away two right footed ones that got lost. But after that, I practiced the (already partially memorized) Vivaldi Concerto in A Minor for about 20 minutes. But if you count how long it took to learn the violin you can add 7 years to that. I didn't actually put the roller skating and the violin playing together until the day of the filming. They were an awkward first tries... but I got it to be good enough on camera. You seem to have developed a small but devoted 'fanbase' - in fact, certain players (I won't list any names  ) exploited a loophole and logged into both the English and German forums to vote for you in the recent Miss Tanki contest so you could get more votes, just to give an example. What do you have to say to these stalkers fans? LOL. As I've said before... I appreciate everyone who voted for me and supported me in the recent contest and it really means a lot. It makes me happy when I know I have people there for me. :) On the other hand, and on a more serious note, there are some players who don't like the fact that you get voted for a lot in contests and so on as a female forum member. What would you tell these players? Also, what would you say to players who assume that Tanki and other fighting-related games can only be played well by males? I'd like to tell these players that it really shouldn't matter that I'm a girl. I mean... I can't help that I'm a girl and I can't do anything about the fact that everyone knows I'm a girl. So get over it because I'm not leaving for a while. -_- And it really bothers me that some guys think that girls can't play games such as Tanki. How does it affect them? I'm not hurting them or ruining their experience by being a girl? Just... suck it up. One last question... You're clearly an active player both on the forums and in-game, and have had success in contests. What advice would you have to offer to any new players of the game wanting to get to know the community, and take part in contests? I've found the community to be mostly friendly and helpful. Make sure you act polite don't act ignorant. If you act intellectual and respectful then you'll be treated with respect back no matter your username or your rank. Think about what you post. Like... really... put thought into it. In the forum I think it's less about the quantity of your posts but more about the quality of your posts. If you do that then I'll talk to you with respect and think about your post as much as you did and appreciate the thought you put in. The community in Skype is massive. Everyone uses it. Clans, Teams, and just individuals. Get to know someone interesting on the forum and ask them to add you to Skype and for them to introduce you to their friends. You can also ask to be added to the English Skype Group as well. Before you know it you'll have a massive amount of friends. And for contests don't be afraid to ask questions if you're unsure about an aspect. Plan it out. Become VERY familiar with the rules, dates of the contest (like days the results come out, days of voting, days of battles that are associated with the contest). Ask others for opinions and help about your entries. Be yourself and have fun. Be honest. Thanks for your time! No problem! I enjoyed taking part :) So, there you have it. What do you think? What questions would you have asked? Well, now you have the opportunity to do so! All you have to do is to post a question here which you would most like lizerd to answer, and she has kindly agreed to answer the question asked which has the most 'up-votes' by 5th September (though she reserves the right not to answer it if she chooses). She did even offer to answer all of your questions up to a certain date, but we eventually both agreed that this way would be more 'contesty' :P So, get asking! Here is the answer to the question that you chose for lizerd to answer: This is going to sound like a really lame response but I don't have a favorite :P I mean... we all have favorite colors... favorite foods... and such but favorite stalkers? Yea... no. 0.o So no favorite... I DO have ones I dislike but none that are exceptional. I don't play favorites :D Sorry for the suckish answer :D -
Wrong. According to clan war specifications, this is how they're classed: Light tanks: Wasp, Hornet Medium tanks: Hunter, Viking Heavy tanks: Dictator, Titan, Mammoth This isn't an error, it's because Dictator M3 is expensive and unlocks at Generalissimo.

Yeah, the Harry Potter series is excellent, I've read each book about 5 times  I also like the Percy Jackson and Artemis Fowl series in terms of fiction, as well as Nelson Mandela's autobiography, which is a fascinating read. I can read any genre of books usually, though.

ToleRicj. I still haven't improved >.<

Nice video :) Ikr

Because he'll be back in time to send them to us so we can judge them collectively, anyway, and it would just make the rules more complex to players newer to contests.

Any entries submitted after today will not be counted.
