Dear tankmen! Or players? Or tankers? Join our poll!
SpreadLoveNotHate replied to semyonkirov in Archive
Even though I chose tankmen, it still limits the gender of tankers, which is probably not very 21st century. So, maybe noble fighters? -
Great paint as well as gold box! Can't wait to get one!

Review [Issue 11] NBA Highlights
SpreadLoveNotHate replied to SpreadLoveNotHate in [Issue 11] NBA Highlights Newspaper Archive
Tanki is a diverse game, with many diversified players from all over the world. What brings them together into a single community is the great experience that they take away from the game. Other than Tanki, many different things bring people from all around the world together. One of those things is sport. Of course, the first thing you would think of is the Olympics, but there is much more to the sports world than the Olympics. A major North American league is called the 'National Basketball Association', which is widely considered premier men's professional basketball league in the world. Currently, playoffs are under way, and they are definitely an anticipated event for lots of Americans. Here's a recap as to what NBA is all about, and my predictions on the playoffs. If you have no idea what NBA is, just keep on reading! The Basics of NBA With 29 clubs from all over the United States, and one from Canada (Yes, the lonely Raptors), a basketball season is held annually, with a playoffs after the regular season to decide which of the 30 teams can take home the championship. The 30 teams play a total of 82 games per team, splitting half as Away (Played at another team's stadium/city), and half as Home (Played in their home stadium/city) in the regular season. After all 82 games are played, the teams enter Playoffs in late April if they can qualify. The three division winners, there are 3 divisions in each conference, and two conferences in the league, along with the team with the next best record from the conference are given the top places, while the next four teams in terms of record are given the lower four places in the individual conference. Each of these teams will be put into pairs, first in the conference vs the last, second vs seventh, and so on. Playoff Analysis It's the end of April, and it's playoffs time of the year. Here's a chart of what the pairings and the bracket looks like: For the Eastern Conference, Miami and New York are probably the two strongest teams coming in. Chicago Bulls lost Derrick Rose this season due to an injury, and this has greatly affected the Bull's ability to get into the game and take it home. Miami added Ray Allen to their team, strengthening the team with Bosh, James, and also Wade. Last year, Miami Heat took home the championship, with the three players, and the addition of Allen is something to remark about, since the team is already strong and capable of winning. As for New York, Carmelo Anthony really kicked into play this season, and set new record highs for his personal profile. As well, the namely '6th Man of the Year', J.R. Smith played extremely well, achieving over twenty points in certain games, and led the Knicks to victory. In my opinion, I think the two teams capable in playing in the finals from the Eastern Conference are Miami and New York. For the Western Conference, Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs came into the playoffs with amazing results from the season. A great disappointment was Russell Westbrook's knee injury that led to having been benched, and unable to play indefinitely. This may lead to an early loss for the Thunders, while still leading Houston Rockets 3-1 (Is Linsanity over?). The Spurs are still in great shape, while they had an easy pairing with the Lakers, who have lost 4-0 already, letting the Spurs advance with great ease. The Lakers were always a hit, but as Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, and others grow older, their team's abilities were greatly restrained. The two teams that will play to play the finals will be Oklahoma City Thunder and the Spurs, even though the Thunders have lost a very key player. A definite threat for Thunder is the Clippers, they have had a long winning streak in the regular season, and the combination of Paul and Griffin is one that is difficult to break through of. Both are strong players, and have proven their skill in winning many of Clipper's games with many points. Conclusion So, that's my review of what I think is going to happen during playoffs 2012-2013. Everyone can have different thoughts and opinions, and these are just mine. What are your thoughts? Feel free to share them below! Bracket picture courtesy of Wikipedia, 2013. -
Guide [Issue 11] Moon Silence
SpreadLoveNotHate replied to SpreadLoveNotHate in [Issue 11] Moon Silence Newspaper Archive
Moon Silence Silence is a map everyone has played in. Either it's Silence, or the evolved form, Silence II, it is almost the most popular map there is for Capture the Flag and Team Deathmatch battles. Celebrating Cosmonautics Day in Russia, Moon Silence has been added to every player's map list, and is proven to be a popular choice daily. Here's what you need to know about the map! What is it like? The location of buildings and objects in Moon Silence is exactly the same as the original Silence. The only things that have changed are the gravity levels, gameplay sounds, and also the skybox. Gravity is decreased by a huge amount, and tank stability is really what the map is about. There's great opportunities for non-battle activities, like parkour (which I over-mention). Although the layout is the same as Silence, gameplay has far too many differences than similarities. What is its gameplay like? Same as Silence, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag are modes that commonly exist between the two maps. The most significant change, the change in gravity, greatly affected the gameplay of Capture the Flag. In Silence, the there are only 2 ways up to blue base (the side ramps), and 4 ways down to blue base (side ramps, jumping off the top, jumping off the lower end). With the change in gravity, many players find that the steeper end, directly up to blue base, is more difficult to attack from. Unstable tanks such as Wasps, Hornets, or even Vikings are easily tipped, or pushed off the map, if they get shot on the side or pushed while ascending. Therefore, this shifts the gameplay heavily to the other side of the map. Even though supplies drop at the same areas, as well as crystals, the supplies are often wasted if the player cannot control the stability of his tank, such as using nitro while going up a ramp will only lead to jumping off the map, or a flip. As well, the main route red teammates take to escape blue base with their flag, is by jumping off. The decreased gravity allows for easier jumps, even if the player is using an Isida, Freeze or Fire. That is often the safest and fastest path back to their home base, which is why they would choose to make the jump. The preferred side for Silence is often blue, because of the team's ability to easily destroy tanks in the red team that spawn in those areas, as well as the ability to jump off the top, and make a quick run to snatch red flag. Although red team have the same ability to jump off while they grab the blue, they are often killed by those defenders on the top, pelleting them with ammunition. Team Deathmatch is the second most popular mode for Silence, after Capture the Flag, most prefer Capture the Flag over TDM in any other map, so it's not to blame. The battle of the Team Deathmatch focuses mostly on red territory, mostly because of blue's advantage over having the 'upper' playing field. They can easily push down, while those at the bottom are expected to have more difficulty pushing up. As well, red teammates should keep in mind that snipers often appear at the edge of the blue base, and will stay there until they get destroyed. A good way to get rid of these campers is to have a Rail sit directly to the right of the lower ramps. Rail is not a suggested gun in this map if you have a light hull, since it risks losing its balance at every shot that comes out. Deathmatch is none other than another exciting experience. Cruising around the map while sweeping your opponents is quite interesting with the lowered gravity, since many are more worried about balance than focusing on killing others. A great way to take kills is to find a spawning spot, and tip your target and destabilize them before they are presented as a threat to you. Surroundings are something you need to look for, since the size of the map is bigger than common DM maps. Conclusion Well, those were the basics of the new map. In my opinion, it offers much more than a light-weighted battle ground. It allows players to discover new ways of playing, shooting, and having fun on Tanki. Since I've always been a fan of Silence, this map offers a whole new scope of battle techniques while in lower gravity conditions. I've been in this map quite a few times, and it has always been such a pleasure to float around with any of my weapons and enjoy the battle. So, I hope you find your time in Moon Silence amusing as much as I do, and I hope to see you in one! -
No doubt, I'm most famous. I'm just too cool for that list ~
