The server that is open for testing New Physics should not need an invite code at the moment; the other servers that do need invite codes are only available for players who were given the code because they were either invited or are testers.

You cannot test Micro-Upgrades yet, but later on there may be an open testing for players.

There is a glitch with shaft at the moment that allows a player to one-shot any hull whilst in scope mode. This problem should be resolved before the New Physics is implemented into real servers.

There has been no mention of discounts as of yet. We'll have to wait for further announcements.
