What to buy? What to use?

Best combo for loads of kills in 1)CTF and 2)DM? (Polygon) (without drugging... or if required.. then double power) I currently own M1 Mammoth/Wasp/Hunter and M1 Isida/Smoky/Freeze/Shaft and my maps of choice are Silence, Kungur, Combe, Crash and possibly Monte Carlo. I love speed, I've sort of fallen in love with it. Hunter and Wasp are my favorites by far, though I hate being killed in 1 shot by drugging thunders and railguns. I'm starting to see that wasp simply doesnt have enough health. Mammoth is horrifyingly slow... I kinda dont like it. So Hunter for high kill amounts? Or is it bad because you cant peek from behind walls well since the turret sits in the middle of the tank? And which weapon is best for quickly acquiring kills? (For high points) I run Shaft usually, its done me quite well esp. with double power. Smoky is my next favorite, and probably Isida after that. Close range weapons seem incredibly hard to get alot of kills with though, if you're not drugging alot or if the map isnt tiny. P.S.... I only have 9k crystals atm. Thanks in advance! *Keep in mind - Ill never make it to M3 upgrades, so please focus on M1/M2 upgrades only. M2 will be my end-game set.

    Lets discuss the team kick

Can we have a list of valid reasons to kick someone? For example, is it 'legal' to kick someone who is using a ricochet weapon to steal the opposing teams flag, and do some parkour to a difficult to reach area (Combe especially)? And what about newbs who think players are hacking who have simply used parkour to their advantage? Isnt it considered strategic to steal the enemies flag once you're ahead, and wait for the timer to end, so that your team wins? (like in Combe w/ricochet) You're playing in a timed match, say 60 minutes, you steal 5 flags and then for the last 30 minutes, you take their flag, parkour on to the top of their base, and shoot down at them, avoiding death so they cant score? This is okay, correct? Its strategy? And they can kill you if they have a ricochet themselves, or if they go to the opposite base, and fire across with shaft, railgun, smoky, or thunder, so you arent un-killable. Also, is it so, that you can only kick members of your own team? Meaning if a player is taking advantage of the above tactic ^ and their team gos with the plan? Can the opposite team kick the player?

    [UPDATED] Isida Guide

Awesome :) Feel free to update all the other weapon guides for him too! haha jk.

    Isida

Ya... lots of his guides need updating, especially the ones on his website, www.koolwalky.com which is apparently under some type of maintenance atm. I'm really hoping its up and running soon with updates! I remember reading them a few months back, and though they were very out dated, they were incredibly detailed and useful, more than any forum post I've found. So... please! Koolwalky if you're reading this, can you do your best to get your site up to date asap, and working properly so the newer, as well as the more experienced players can benefit from your extensive knowledge! :)

What to buy? What to use?

viking's m2 upgrade is 120k xp later, and during those times i plan to purchase m2 mammoth and m2 wasp, so i think the timing isnt so good. plus at m1, hunter only loses 14 hp for a whole 1.0 speed faster. yes.... m2 viking's 220hp is impressive... but is there something i dont know about? I mean stability, which hull is more stable when being fired upon? If i'm using shaft, and a thunder or smoky is shooting at me while im trying to scope them, will my aimer move around less if im in a viking as opposed to a hunter? I need a more thought out answer than 'viking' lol ._.

What to buy? What to use?

Hunter or Viking? (m1/m2 specifically.. since i think i'll never reach m3 ranks) I currently own the following m1's:wasp, mammoth - isida smoky freeze shaft I am considering purchasing thunder possibly in the future..... but I really dont want to... it would be because it seems like every single person who makes it into the top placings in EVERY game so happens to be a viking+thunder or mammoth+thunder using m1/m2 upgrades >_> it really sucks being an m1 wasp and being 1-2 hit by them. whats worse is that alot of them drug. So with thunder... and my other weapons, which hull would be better once again, viking or hunter? I play in all sized maps and enjoy short+long range weapons as you can see by my inventory lol.

    Two truths and a Lie

You may as well just say "guess a number 1-3." There's not enough background information or anything like that to be able to play this game on forums efficiently. Maybe if you posted a picture of yourself first and gave us a small background check of your life. Nice try though.

What to buy? What to use?

I have M1 shaft. It's great for some maps, particularly maps where there are few entrances to a base. If you're on the blue team in Silence, and you're in a game with M0-M1s and the occasional M2 isida/freeze/hornets, it's awesome because few people have good paints at lower ranks. Also at low ranks, you can 1hit or 1hit+noscopeshot all other enemies. At higher ranks, majority of people say that it sucks though. I think they say this because there are alot of paints with shaft protection, along with people using more heavily armored hulls. Shaft is a situational weapon. If you're in the right place on the right team, you can easily achieve 1st or 2nd place in games with great K/D ratios. Just the other day I saw a shaft in Silence on the blue team with a K/D of 109.00. Yes - 109kills 1 death. This was because his team was winning though, and so he could easily position himself to shoot anyone spawning at the red team's base and 1hit kill them. I love my shaft when paired with my Wasp m1. It's even good on smaller maps sometimes, it's just about your positioning really. Also you want to make sure that with whatever weapon you're using, that you're never just doing 'nothing.' You should always be dealing damage or capping flags if you want any top 3 position on a scoreboard. Shafts in my experience are always best used in maps with alot of players in CTF battles. This is because you have so many teammates and they can hold the attention of the enemy team so that you can sit in the back picking them off one by one. Another benefit with the shaft is that in lower ranked matches, a fully charged shot is a gaurenteed kill meaning that Isida's cannot heal the person you just shot, unlike every other weapon. It's also a great weapon for kill stealing. (kill securing) This is because you're zoomed in on your target. If you know you can't one hit them, then you can simply wait until someone shoots them once with any weapon. Then you know your fully charged M1 shaft dealing 150 dmg will get you a kill for sure. Edit: Nowadays it's nearly impossible to make it into the top 3 positions on the scoreboard without using drugs... specifically in bigger games and higher ranked battles... :/ It sucks. Especially now because unless you're a buyer, or don't care about any future upgrades, if you drug, you basically lose crystals in the end. If you earn 500 crystals at the end of the game.. thats 7drugs + 1 health pack. And you're going up against a team where 4/10 of the enemies are on full drugs the entire match coming at you invading your base and stealing your flag. So... shaft is nice esp if you can stay away from the main action with the druggers and pick them off as they come :) 150-200dmg on a drugger actually makes a difference with their 2xarmor.

What to buy? What to use?

I was actually only planning to use Thunder for the M1 version, and I was going to use it until I was able to unlock smoky/wasp... would it be better to purchase Twins M1 to last me till the later ranks? It just seems like my greatest enemy are thunder users. I'm always killed in 2 hits, and there is no way to dodge a thunder really. (Rail is incredibly easy to dodge in my wasp) But often times its the amount of thunder users... 2 thunders with an Isida behind them on the blue team in Silence............. sitting above the ramps. It's impossible to pass through those entrances to the blue base unless you're a drugging mammoth with an isida behind you... who is going to die anyways from the thunder splash damage or being targeted first... and in Silence, a railgun can't pop up on those ramps without being shot repeatedly by the campers above the ramps just waiting for you. The problem with using a railgun in maps with alot of Isida's is that ... well if you don't kill your opponent in 1 shot, your long reload time makes it impossible to kill an enemy with an Isida. With thunder you can count on your higher dps, and splash damage to deal multiple enemies at once so that the Isida's can't outheal your dps. Same thing with Smoky. You can count on that critical hit to either 1hit your opponent, or take out most of their health so that it only takes 1-2 shots more to kill them. It's like a railgun shot + 2 smoky shots after = kill. Comparing Smoky vs Railgun, I prefer Smoky by far for many reasons. First, if you miss a shot on a railgun.... you SEVERELY hinder your DPS. Also if you know someone is about to die, and you just fired, you can't get that kill becaues you're waiting 5 seconds for your railgun to recharge. Often times in a battle, its a fraction of a second that determines your success. M1 Railgun = 80-120 dmg and 8.3 shot/min. M1 Smoky (which is unlocked over 100k xp earlier, and 2k+ crystals cheaper) deals 23-28 dmg and 32.3 shot/min. Meaning you shoot smoky 4 times for every 1 shot of railgun. ~110dmg for smoky (with a 6%crit chance x 4 shots) so 32% chance to deal 128crit dmg... using a more versatile weapon. Plus with smoky, if someone spawns in your face while capping the flag or for whatever reason you're at the enemy base, if you're lucky, you can get a crit as soon as they spawn and they die immediately without even having the chance to shoot you. Giving you a great laugh and them a WTF haha. Railgun shots are easily anticipated with that charge up animation, and you blow your cover of where you are shooting from as well. You also can flip your own hull easily, especially if combined with an enemy shot. This is why I'm considering Thunder > Railgun for my next weapon purchase. Thunder is the next closest thing to Smoky, but with splash dmg instead of crit. The only other useful guns to defeat people with an Isida behind them is the freeze and firebird really... but you usually require a fast hull with those weapons... meaning low hp... meaning 2 thunder shots (or whatever the isida is healing) and you're dead lol. I dislike twins for this reason as well, unless you're standing out in the open for a prolonged period of time, its impossible to deal damage. With twins, to deal damage is to be damaged. It almost demands double armor drugs if you're on a light hull. But then again, any weapon is good with drugs... With a light hull, this results in a horrible K/D and people stealing your kills because you died before you could inflict enough damage to them. Also, anyone vs twins, all they have to do is use cover to their advantage, and only pop out when their weapon has reloaded, again severely hindering twin's dmg output. Their lack of range is another problem. In order to have the highest score to be rewarded for your game time, is to make use of every single second in each battle. If you're an Isida, it means to never allow your turret to be fully charged, always constantly healing or dealing dmg. If you're a longer range weapon, it means not to miss a single shot, and you should constantly be shooting at something, nonstop. With twins, this is difficult to do in team games in medium/large maps because in order to deal damage, you have to be 1)close enough 2)basically in the open. So you 1)waste time moving in close enough to deal damage (smoky/thunder can shoot from long distances meaning no time is wasted) and 2)you are gonna die soon enough, so you have to get back in to the action up close, wasting more time. Sorry if any of this was 'off topic' but I got to thinking and this wall of text just sort of appeared. Im sure this would be useful though to people considering which weapon to use, and it helped me think clearer in making decisions for myself by putting it down in writing. I tried to go on test server once but it said I needed a code or something? I looked around on the internet for a code and was unsuccessful. If this test server is accessible to all players, could you give me a code then? Or tell me where to find one?

What to buy? What to use?

How is he going to know if he likes using the weapon unless he's purchased it..? I think it's good to test all the weapons at the start, it gives you a better vision of your options, plus it keeps things interesting. The turret you decide to upgrade has a lot to do with what type of game mode you prefer, as well as the maps you like/plan to play on the most. Short range weapons aren't too useful in big wide open maps. They get killed before they can make it to their opponent, and without many structures to hide behind, its difficult to sneak up on people with freeze, isida, firebird, etc. If you like small maps, then the shaft is usually not the best option. If you like CTF mode the most, Isida and Freeze are infinitely useful if you play them well. If you want to be different, Smoky, Firebird, and Ricochet are much more absent on the playing field in comparison to the other weapons.

What to buy? What to use?

I own Smoky M1, Freeze M1, Isida M1, Mammoth M1 and Wasp M1 and at this point I would like to have a nice higher dmg dealing medium->long range weapon. I like to use cover to my advantage so twins aren't really my thing. I would also like to own a more balanced hull. I'm leaning towards hunter atm due to its higher speed. I think speed is more important over health, because if I'm just 1.0 m/s faster, I can dodge an extra hit which would've taken anywhere between 20-100 health. Also, I'd like to be able to take more than 2 hits by a m1/m2 thunder, and to survive from a hit by a m1/m2 railgun. (Paint can be included just suggest which paint to buy to be able to take these hits) I have 5.3k crystals atm, and I'm focusing on M1-M2 upgrades because I doubt I'll ever make it to the M3 ranks, as I won't be able to play too much in a few months so consider M2 as my 'end-game' equipment when giving suggestions. In simpler terms, I'd like the fastest hull possible, strong enough to survive 2 hits from M1/M2 Thunder, and 1 hit from Railgun. (For times when I have an Isida behind me) So it's a toss up between the following hulls: Hunter, Viking, Dictator... or if it would better suit my weapon, then sticking with Smoky is an option as well. And a toss up between the following turrets: Smoky, Thunder, and Railgun My end game goals are M2 Wasp M2 Smoky M2 Mammoth M2 Freeze M2 Isida and then either M2 Railgun, Thunder, or Shaft....Hunter, Viking, Dictator Edit: I think I have decided on Thunder... but still very lost between Hunter, Viking, and Dictator. -Should I be thinking about all the protective paints used against Thunder though? I like Viking for its M2 upgrade in comparison to the Dictator/Hunter, but it's the last one I'll unlock, and it's within 1 rank of the time I plan to purchase Wasp M2 so at that point I'm sure I'll be wanting to save crystals for my wasp upgrade....

What to buy? What to use?

M2 Freeze or M2 Isida? And would I be dumb to upgrade shaft? I like using it from time to time.. but i feel like as its upgraded, it wont keep up with the health of other tanks.. :( M0 is good in low ranks, but past that, it seems harshly underpowered. That's saddening because I hate the railgun personally... meaning my only other sniper weapon is Smoky, which cant really be called a 'sniper' due to its low damage... aside from the stray critical hit (which is still weaker than shaft hit) Can a shaft be very useful after this rebalance? M1-M2 level specifically?

Was actually smoky lol you can see barely in the pic. I was so mad too.... the game randomly kicked me out due to 'inactivity' but I was there the whole time... it was a long tdm match and I was sitting there for 2 hours ALONE cause no one would join a 1 person game because I was waiting for the time to run out for my crystals.... 800+ of them -_- After it kicked me I couldnt find the game anywhere, pmo.

What to buy? What to use?

Is mammoth + twins good for defense, similar to defense with freeze? Since twins have a longer range and most flag cappers are running wasps/hornets. The twins will make the smaller hulls unable to progress forward easily? With freeze as defense, yes, it slows the enemy but what if the enemy is out of your range? A bigger base to defend? Isnt freeze's reach too short? Twins would deal good damage, and never run out of ammo, so you can also take chunks of the enemy's hp before they get on top of your flag making them easier to kill.

What to buy? What to use?

I currently own M1 Smoky and M1 Wasp. I'd like to have a close range weapon, most likely Freeze or Isida, but I can't decide which one to choose. Isida seems a bit harder to accumulate points IMO, but I do like its healing feature. The thing about Freeze is: a)you aren't everyone's first target (like you are with Isida) b)you can attack multiple enemies at once c)you can kill isida's without them even touching you if you make contact first and keep your distance d)you are versatile because you're a great defender and attacker e)you can freeze..... which really annoys people and makes them nearly useless for about 5 seconds So I think I'm leaning towards freeze, but I can't decide which hull to use. Dictator seems like a good option because your turret is higher off the ground, allowing your Freeze spray to people on higher elevations easier, and you dont have to worry about towering over other enemies directly infront of you because its a 'spray' so you still hit short hulls that are in your face. Dictator has decent HP to allow for good defending ability. The only problem I see with Dictator is the horrible M2 and distant M3 upgrades.. they're nothing to be too happy about. But upgrading the Viking is a dead end with its horrible M3 upgrade, so then the choices are Wasp or Hornet. I love my M1 Wasp, it's amazing paired with Smoky to hit and dodge nearly anything that comes my way. My problem is that with Freeze, I have to be out in the open, not able to take cover while attacking, so I need a decent health pool to sustain me while I do my damage. Is it worth getting the Hornet despite the fact that I already own an M1 Wasp and plan to M3 it as time goes on? Would Hunter be practical? I think it's wise to use a hull with more HP than less so that drugs will be more beneficial. (I do not buy drugs and rarely use them, I think they're really cheap, but the ones which fall from the sky are blessings.) Then again, maybe my Wasp is best still? So that I can run circles around my enemy, with a smaller chance of being hit, such as when I'm fighting a rail/smoky/thunder up close, the faster I can move to get behind him before he reloads, the less damage I take. But if I choose a medium speed hull, it will take longer to get to my opponent's backside and as a result I may very well take another hit from them. Also, which mid-rank paint as Freeze??? Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated and will surely be considered.
  21. r_brandybabyxx0

What to buy? What to use?

I really like the speed of the wasp, I'm into fast paced strategic games, and I normally choose the 'ninja' type class. I don't mind lower damage, and i certainly prefer speed > health because the reality is that if you don't get hit, then your health shouldnt matter. My favorite combo so far has been the wasp + smoky. Is this a good combo, or will it hinder me later on? Also, which paint should I purchase? I was thinking that I should be able to dodge Rail/Ricochet, and with my wasp I can avoid freeze/firebird/isida for the most part, so thunder/shaft/smoky protection would be best for me right? So far I have M1 Wasp and M1 Smoky. Next upgrade is so many ranks away :(
