@;n10shnableFoul: You say you like Close-ranged? Really I'd suggest Firebird. But what hulls do you use?
-
What maps do you play in, and what paints do you have? And do you like Close-ranged, Far-ranged, both, or just don't care? :P
-
If you like relying on Luck, I'd recommend Smoky. If you want brute strength to sear through your enemies, then I recommend Firebird. Keep in mind that Firebird would need a Light/Medium hull. Smoky could do well on both. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've tried Firebird on test server (hehehe), and it's not too shabby! I've seen Firebirds in battle, and once they get you, it's a real annoyance. They either kill you or cripple you. I've used Firebird M1 a lot in my newb days. If you know how to do it, then you will excel. Remember, with Light-hulls you can save your fuel and use a fixed amount on each opponent and move on, or you can just blast all of it out at one opponent, die, and come back and repeat the process, because you have speed on your side. With Medium hulls you might want to conserve fuel. You'll stay around longer than a light hull, but remember, you'll also be on the move. Once you use up all your fuel, you'll be heading into enemy lines with barely any ammo left- something you don't want to do because then you won't be able to kill them, only slowing them down with your dead tank. If you happen to use a Heavy Hull, I strongly recommend Titan. You'll need the speed. Either way, for Heavy Hulls you won't be travelling much (I hope, or else you'll just be a moving Damage-dummy), and you're able to let your fuel bar recover. I think with Mammoth you'll mostly be a defensive person, guarding choke-points in TDM/DM, and important paths leading to your flag in CTF. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For Smoky, well it's wonderful! Especially on drugs. When M2 Titans/ M2 Mammoths don't see me, I can 1-shot them if I have a DP on. It's possible. I've already 1-shotted an M2 Titan today as soon as he respawned. Due to the fast firing and impact, it can unbalance opponents. I use Mammoth, so I don't feel the recoil. If you use a Light hull, prepare to feel some recoil. The Critical is very nice and you never know when it's going to happen. Smoky without the critical happening isn't too bad either. With the fast-firing and the 28-35 damage range, it's actually quite interesting. For Hornet M2's, it takes 4 regular shots. For Hornet M1, I can 2-shot it with a DP. And talk about a Critical, 1-shot KO! And don't even get me started on streaks. It's very fun if your Criticals appear one after another. So far I think my best was something like 4-5 criticals in 6-8 shots or something. It was amazing. Criticals even more druggers are a hassle. The accuracy is very handy. At first I also doubted buying Smoky. Would the criticals appear enough? Yes they do appear enough to satisfy me. And if you are Lucky then possibly your first shot in the battle will be a critical! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I may sound biased- in favor of Smoky. However, that's really because I own Smoky M2 and not Firebird M2.- although I do consider myself at least decent with Firebird. How do you play? Which fits you better? What hull do you have? Those are the kinds of questions you might want to ask yourself before buying. Firebird is great too. Maybe someone on Forum with Firebird M2 can talk to you more about it (Not sure, maybe Raphael2, or Husto/IceRugby), but it is nonetheless just as good as Smoky.

@dcflipper: Ah, but I bet Wasp sharpened your skills! So using that skill derived from Wasp and launching it on a Hornet makes you one hell of a Tank. Although I still choose to go with Wasp, same as ExtremeKiller. True, harder to balance unlike Hornet, but if you can manage it, you can do better things. :P

I saw that guy named Makarov Dreyay play with Ricochet/Viking. He was awesome for protecting the flag. I forgot which Cybersport vid it was in. It was a Lucky 7 I think?
-
Whichever one you're good with.

PowerfullSoul is right though, you need Likes. :P
-
@Jcar: True enough, Twins was built for that kind of gameplay anyway. I still think the new Twins will be more like a Bubble machine though. xD
-
New Physics didn't arrive yet. xD

Ohh! Time to use Mammoth and Railgun. It's going to be so fun when I put on a DP and start 1-shotting whoever puts like 100 Mines. xDD
-
I just got a Goldbox today. Extra 1,000 crystals. Should I spend them all on Mines?
-
Sup Slightly. I've only met you once in battle. Random battle. With Icerugby. :P Either way, laters man. And good luck on Exams.
-
@in10shnableFoul: Yeah. But if you think about it ,Titan right now isn't that bad either. Although with Mammoth it is more fun to trample people with, because of Mammoth's structure. The front part of Mammoth is absolutely perfect for shoving and trampling.

Truth ^

@in10shnablefoul: Titan M2.
-
@Jcar: M1 Twins and M2 Mammoth cannot beat M3 Railgun/ M2 Mammoth. No way, no how. :D And Railgun can win if say they're circling around a building, etc. Not to mention if they're too far apart. Matters on Skill. Anyways, true, Twins damage is barely anything when you're exactly like 54 metres away. However, it's a Tank. Tanks can move. ._.

The episodes with Stewie+Brian only were the best!

I just realized that it's Thanksgiving. I knew about it like a week ago. Man, time passes by so fast.

@JCar: Well, the range it has really isn't a downside for it. The range is clearly not a problem for it in popular maps like Silence and Polygon. And face it, Twins/Mammoths don't play in something like Dusseldorf unless there are drugs 24/7 or if they're using a fast hull like Hornet. The damage loss isn't that big of a deal. It's not like Thunder where the damage decreases dramatically. Okay, so what if the shots have the lowest damage rate? You expect it to have the damage of a Smoky or Thunder with that kind of Firing speed? The shots fired per second is its true power, not the damage of the pellets. An extremely fast reload is not its only advantage. The impact, my good sir, is also what most people don't like about it. Once you're being showered by a Twins, you're immobilized. Ok see, Thunder has a relatively slow reload. Second of all, there are many paints against Thunder for lower ranks. The only protection for lower ranks is like a puny 10% or 5%. Until of course you're able to get something like Urban. Keep in mind however that that is a very expensive paint, and we cannot afford it. And the close-ranged with Thunder? Keep in mind that Splash damage hurts the user also. And Railgun? That gun has high damage because it has very slow reload. And when it hits multiple opponents, the damage is cut by half each time. So normally it is quite a challenge to score 2 kills in one shot. The knock-off is powerful, but not constant. To make an actual use of the knock-back, you can't just randomly shoot. You have to aim for the edges, or time your shots extremely well. And shooting at the edges risks more of a miss. Personally I've went up against Twins before, and even with my Mammoth M2 and a little bit of Twins protection with my Electra, it just completely blows me away. Drugs vs. drugs, it still wins. It is Over-powered. I've gotten over the fact that Freeze is being nerfed. :P I just came to realize the fact that it is OP, and should be nerfed to sustain balance in gameplay.

Resident_Evil_22: They already eliminated the chance of Failure when Micro-upgrading. :P

@Husto: I once drove a drugging M2 Viking/ M2 Twins away with my Wasp M1/ Thunder M1 in a 1 vs 1 DM in Duel map. How? I let him shoot me 2-3 times, and kill myself right next to him. He slowly died while he got no kills. I on the other hand got kills slowly, and got sooo many deaths. Still worked! :D
-
@Wutami: That's the point of Thunder- the splash damage! You seem more like a Smoky person. :P

http://i42.tinypic.com/166d4zr.png Even Mammoths get stuck. I fell down wrong when I got shot by a Railgun. I spun in mid-air and then I ended up getting lodged there. The amazing thing is that I wasn't flipped, and I could still shoot enemies! I go one kill while ''hanging'' from that spot. :D I was amazed, and so were my teammates. :P Ended up releasing the flag (yes, I had the flag :P) and letting my Team capture it. I was just there rocking back and forth a little bit because of my Smoky recoil. It was really fun! :D

http://i44.tinypic.com/15q3wvl.png ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is what happens when a gang of Freezes try to Gang up on poor DidYouKnowThat, the Mammoth M2/ Smoky M2/ Electra. Apparently in the previous match, I came in and started killing everyone with Criticals. I especially shot at Freezes. When I first arrived, I was really surprised. With Smoky, people do kind of respect you. A Twins M2/Mammoth M2 and Thunder M2/Mammoth M2 wanted to team with me! And they were General rank, and I was Colonel! I feel so acknowledged. So when that round ended, guess what? Four Freezes left, a Railgun and me. :( So they thought it was cool to gang up on me. 4 Vs. 1. The Railgun was hiding. :P Freeze Gangster #1 -> M2 Hornet/M2 Freeze/ Swash (Lieutenant General) Freeze Gangster #2 -> M2 Viking/ M3 Freeze/ Sandstone (Lieutenant General) Freeze Gangster #3 -> M3 Dictator/ M3 Freeze/Needle (General) Freeze Gangster #4 -> M2 Mammoth/ M3 Freeze/ Emerald (General) (Not shown in Screenshot, he was somewhere else. His username was ''snegoviks'') As you can see, them teaming up on me did not work! Criticals rang out everywhere! I <3 you Smoky! I got like 5 Criticals in a row, no joke. It was so fun! I've got to say, verses a Needle, it's really tough. Hope for criticals though! I got like 2-3 Criticals in 4-5 shots on that M3 Dictator. I ranked #1, because when I respawned, I shot them non-stop! And I kept getting criticals, and I stopped them from picking up Crystal boxes countless times! It was great! PS.: The match shown contains more than 5 people, but the others just joined and barely started. I got up to 16 kills, then I left. :P And yes, they aimed solely for me! Bullies these days. :D But I kick butt with Smoky M2. Conclusion: Smoky M2 is a good weapon. :P But of course, didn't we all know that?! PPS: Did not drug!

It has been discussed for quite a while now. Just throw it out entirely and start focusing on MU's and Physics. At times it's not even used. The mults just stay. Nobody's smart enough to ./vote. Not even people at my rank- which is just sad.
