Let's discuss Tanki Online Commentator Contest
MarineMan2 replied to SuperNick95 in Contests Archive
Oh, and by the way, I'd like to applaud DS. Because no matter what the decisions, he's been here carefully taking the time to thoroughly respond to every single one of these posts (at least those that needed answering). :) Keep it up DS! -

Let's discuss Tanki Online Commentator Contest
MarineMan2 replied to SuperNick95 in Contests Archive
Firstly, I don't care for that analogy, no matter what the context. Additionally, I wasn't picking on you for your words, I just assumed you knew what you were saying, and hence tried to express what I was saying. The way you speak expresses how you feel about things, be careful before you just throw something out there. In this case it was minor, but in other cases a small misunderstanding could change the dynamics of everything. Here you suggested everyone shut their trap and take it (which in all fairness isn't too shabby an idea given all the complaining here), but I think that everyone ought to at least be able to get a grasp as to how the judges thought things out simply so those with inquires may grow to be better and stronger commentators. -
Oh my goodness, this couldn't have actually gotten much cooler! New paints, new turret, new changed and upgraded parameters on other turrets!!! I personally think that the best thing I've seen in the Video Blogs for weeks is this fellow who gave the review.

Let's discuss Tanki Online Commentator Contest
MarineMan2 replied to SuperNick95 in Contests Archive
Hello judges, fellow players. *tips hat* I just figured it would be worth looking into this topic before the contest draws to a close so I may provide a few remarks from my own perspective (haha, as if there hasn't been enough of that already, but onwards). Firstly, man, it's ok. I actually took the initiative to speak with DS about why I did not pull up even a consolation prize, and his explanation to me was more than satisfactory. As I see it, I had a few to many "um"s in my entry, didn't have any time to even remotely imagine what I was going to do and say, nor how I would act and respond when I saw things play out. I had no true strategy going into this particular contest, as I only had 15 minutes! This being the case, I was forced to watch the video in a lower quality on YouTube when I recorded myself to ensure that I didn't suffer lags and miss a second of the action. DS then pointed out to me that a big let down had been my absence of using their usernames, and I totally agree, but that was just the way it had to be if I even wanted to have a chance at entering. This time, I seemingly walked away with nothing, but in truth, I've learned so much just from this one experience, watching other's experience, and trying to comprehend the judges decisions and their thought processes. Don't be annoyed, the judges knowledge is so ingrained in their minds that it has become second hand to them. They can pretty easily see if something is quality or not. Just because I have done well in the past, does not immediately imply I'd do equally as well this time. Besides, imagine if I came out as one of the top three, people would be screaming left and right, "BIAS, BIAS, BIAS!!! HE'S ALREADY A STAFF MEMBER!!!" It would have been outrageous, so it was bound to get mentioned either way. Actually, I agree, and equally disagree with you at the same time. Being "correct" is all relative to the opinion. In this case, the opinion was relative to those most skilled in commentating, but that does not necessarily make their judgement unquestionable. The judgement was final; yes, but that does not mean it was unquestionable. As Hogree said further back in this topic, we have every right to understand the ruling, and why it was made. And particularly, the bit you said here, "We simply cannot argue on the decision made by someone like Damn_Slow and his fellow judges.". I think that with a minor tweak, I'd be able to agree with you. If you flip the places of "simply cannot" you'll have "cannot simply", which given the way this should be handled, makes more sense. We can discuss, and request further explanation, but arguing is out of the question. The way you phrased it, you implied that we could not request anything, but with this minor edit, it says that we can not lower ourselves to the level of arguing over something that is already over with, and pointless to pursue in such a regard. Let's quit this foolish bickering, and ask questions POLITELY only once, rather than flooding this place with so dang many of the same thing. Haha, I sure would have liked more to win, but I such as many others, just didn't cut it this time. Keep entering for every contest, and eventually, no matter how long it takes, you're bound to find your forte. :) Good luck guys, and I'll see you in the battle. -

Go Patriots! Yet another win for them again, and even a few Super Bowl records were set! Aside from the amazing technical things, there were two huge lucky moments! When one of the Seahawks fell on the ground, and the ball seemed to levitate above him till he dragged it back toward the earth and tightly in his grip. Then there was the game changing, make or break, move by the Patriots #21. A beautiful interception, and they knew the game was over then. Soon after they let the clock run out as the press, V.I.Ps, and members from each team flooded the field.

Hey, just wanted to let you know there was no need to post this, and especially no need for the hate of a downvote. If he acquires some members, and it works out, then that's fine. Leave it to myself to call when something is out of line.

Hammer is now a particular favorite turret of mine. In the past I was a firm Thunder user, but Hammer is like the close-mid range combat weapon of Thunder. While I am enjoying the Hammer, my thoughts about Vulcan are less fond. The idea is fun... but maybe not for me personally. I think it will indeed add to the dynamics of gameplay though. And besides, who am I to judge? Originally I thought Hammer was going in the wrong direction, but upon the official release... well, hey, it's my main turret of choice now! The point is, if you have any doubts, don't let them cloud up your mind with thoughts of displeasure, just be patient and appreciate things can really take a big turn for the better, whatever that looks like for you. Remain optimistic everyone!

That appears to be the likely date.

I attempted contact, and to no avail. Please do look into your PM for my message. -
For the sake of clarity, I think rumor has it that it's actually a sardine patterned sort of thing...

Sounds fun, but it's more happy-go-lucky than the Mine Hunt, which at least required some minor level of skill and organization in most cases. Though still, this sounds like it's going to fun to goof around with. :)

Haha, feeling lousy for missing all of the staff showing up. That's alright though, I'll get 20 staff members online before... I die... maybe... errr Ok, don't judge.

Haha, we're in the same boat on that one then. :D

Your devotion and service to this community has by been... Well, game changing. Always willing to pick up a convo when you had time; a great worker with an equally great social aspect. Your days of hard work here shall not be forgotten. You've majorly helped developments for cybersport, and then gone the extra distance to try and help the community through these changes. I'd like to personally thank you for encouraging me to become a Moderator. :) Know you'll be missed.

Here is my entry. I really ended up cutting it close on this one. I had only one go at the recording and no time to preview the content. What you see is what you get. I tried my hardest (as I'm sure we all did) and I hope to potentially put out some of my own personal commentated events. Just a possibility... ;) Please give the video a like, and if you care to, an upvote here wouldn't hurt either.
