This is going to be my personal opinion, which WILL sting. Brutal honesty coming up. Avalanche is a powerful combination at low ranks that only requires a knowledge of using up a fuel tank and circle-strafing. Only the worst players use this as it is really just the cheapest kit they can buy. Boar is for those idiots that go for golds and don't care about their team. These are the people that I hate most because they just go around with their Dictator M3's boosting their D/L on some poor noobs who still have M0's. Anaconda, on the other hand, is such a powerful kit coupled with Incendiary band that it will make entire teams rage quit. Don't buy it unless you want people to hate you for it. Stinger is for the people who can't turn their turret and camp inside their base all game gaining easy XP. Voltage is another Dictator kit that makes your blood boil when you go up against it. Enough said. Tornado was good some time ago, but right now, M2 Railgun without alterations is trash. Most times, you can't even one shot a Viking with Double Damage. And if you want to be hated, just put on Round Destabilization and be forever remembered as that guy who didn't give a **** about his team. The XP/BP glory days are long over. Sorry guys, no one cares about that 1080 noscope-turret-turn trickshot. Just let it go... Do you want a kit that can teach you skill? Then read on... Chiropractor(Shaft-Hunter M2). Yes, it's unlocked at Second Lieutenant, but this gives you more time to save up some more crystals. Shaft M2 really doesn't get enough credit - upgrade it to M3 and you'll be ready for the long and painful struggle through the mid-ranks because you'll be able to one-shot any medium hull without protection. You want to achieve greatness? Then follow my advice, and YOU. WILL. DESTROY.

Flexoo, hi. Right now I have 6,000 words on a guide about Shaft I'm writing. Here's a question about 1st prize. By hull/turret modification, do you mean I can get anything available for my rank? For example, I am a Brigadier. I have maxed out Shaft and Hunter M2. So is it possible to get the M3 modification without needing to wait to Marshal? By the way, after the contest, I will be applying for a position in the newspaper writers. My application will be sent in a couple of weeks. :)

First of all, if you want to compete, you're gonna have to lay off of supplies for a bit, as they run out super fast. So I recommend playing it safe and getting Supercumulative rounds. People don't give it enough credit for how great it is. If you get the critical, you'lll deal over 2000 damage to some poor ***** who's stumbled into you. Right now, XP/BP is trash without alterations. I once loved using this, but I realized that Railgun M2 is pitifully weak. Do not make the same mistake as me. Instead, I would recommend trying something new - Shaft-Hunter. With a cheap alteration called "Short-band emitter" for 25000 crystals, you can easily get to the top of the scoreboards in no time. But if you don't want that, Supercumulatives are your way to go.

You're right, Viking is already too OP. It's going to unleash some kind of apocalypse when the overdrives arrive here. However, Hunter is great in the fact that it's overdrive will EMP every damn thing close to it and also temporarily disable any tank. THIS is the hard counter. OK, I don't have anything to argue against that. You're right, Hunter does have its downsides. 3000 containers? Is your dad Bill Gates?

My beef with Viking is that EVERYONE uses it. It's quite literally a forgiving hull for every kind of noob out there. And why does luck give you Shaft XT but not me? Seriously, I've been dedicated to Shaft for many years and all I get is a Violet shot effect... Look past Hunter's downsides, and you'll love it more.

Sorry, I don't have that much experience in the Forums. Teach me, sir! I have nothing against that if you didn't sit in a corner and rack up those kills. In fact, if you didn't camp and got a 30 K/D, then you're a pro. Sending PMs. It's not bouncy. In fact, it can cope really well. Since it has more weight than Viking, you're going to be much harder to flip over. The problem with Viking is that it's too low, which is really irritating if you can't shoot someone above you. Give Hunter a chance, eh? It's been neglected far too much by the community. Love it, and it will pay you back many times over.

Moving on from my little rant, who would like to be interviewed on their experience with Shaft?

Muhammad is right IMO. For God's sake, there is nothing that pisses me off more than cowards who camp in one spot. And Titan? Grow up man, you're gonna make so many enemies (myself included) for just mining everywhere around you and picking people off from a corner of the map. It doesn't matter how many kills you get in a battle if you make enemies with every person in the match. Please, just stop. Learn how to play aggressively, and people will start to respect you. Damn right it isn't. The only reason they use Round Destabilization is because that's the only thing they can afford and all they dream of is being in Synergy... When will they ever learn? Cowboy is a pain in the ass. I've met him before, and I've dealt with him in the way that he'll never want to meet me again. Just wait until this r*tard goes up to M3 and you one shot him. Exactly. The only thing M2 Shaft can't one-shot is Viking, but even then all it takes is a Twins plasmaball to end it.

BTW, I'm writing a huge in-depth article about Shaft in 2019. Anyone wanna contribute? During the Challenge time, I see that you are making the same mistake every game. No offense, but it seems like you're treating pretty much every mode like TDM. You want to get the highest score? Then play the objective. Capture flags. Return flags. Capture some balls. Deliver flags to the blue base. It's really pretty simple. Drugging is only as bad as the person who uses them. If they're skilled, then of course he/she'll give you hard time. Get over it. 2019 is here and it's gonna be tough.. In other words, you're skilled. But you need to change your mindset as of now. You don't really need Eagle. Right now, so little people use Shaft other than us that it's disappointing. They'd rather go use Thunder and Firebird like idiots. Well, let's put them in their place. The upgrade from M1 to M2 is simply the best. Being able to one-shot Dictators and Hunters takes anyone unawares. As for the Simoom kit, you're right. That's the reason I never bought it, because I would turn into one of these idiots. Is your Hunter M2 yet? Because that's when it becomes very good for Shaft. And for God's sake, ditch Striker. That ship has long sailed. The team modes are still pretty fun, but I would seriously recommend buying Hunter M2 and going to M3 with it. Trust me, Major is the perfect rank to do so. Do that, and you'll get to Brigadier in a month. And try Light Capacitors. I changed my mind, they're actually really good. I tried DM two times today and caught 2 containers in 20 minutes. Not bad, right? Play the objective, and people will love you in quick battles. People at Generalissimos compliment me for playing the objective even when we're losing, and I've even beaten teams with ranks much higher than mine by twofold. (for example, a Sandal CTF 7-0 win, my score - 480 and 2.00 D/L, and the other team's top player (General) - 240 and 1.20 D/L). You want to go places? Get Hunter M3. You won't regret it. And your move about waiting until Brigadier? Solid choice. I might buy that kit myself on holidays. After you buy this one, you'll never go back to Short-band emitters. Ever. Yeah, well Railgun protection is a lot more viable now than it was before. Great choice. Hunter is clearly the way to go. And don't let M2 hulls get you down, you can always get Shaft M3.

Any alterations? Because ez win with Rapid-fire or AE. NO. Firebird I agree with, but Thunder and Twins are by far not the best modules. Hammer. Simply because of GODDAMN Duplet users. And Striker. Because of Uranium. Nuff said. Although you could swap out Striker with Railgun protection.

Well, yeah. People hated being killed by Shafts. They thought it was the most noob turret ever, *cough* Twins *cough*, but in reality they were just salty that they couldn't snipe for s***. Thanks to shot effects, Black and Magma will now kill your corneas. Nice, but wait till you get Rapid-fire mode ;) Round Destabilization, Large Caliber Rounds, and Sledgehammer are the most overpowered things made after Darth Vader boarded the Rebel ship a long, long time ago... But Magnum? Please. You're better off getting protection against Rico or Twins.
