[Issue 37] Celebrating Eid in the English Community

Eid is celebrated all around the world by Muslims, some in our community. This is a very special celebration which marks the end of fasting in the month of Ramadan. The month in which we fast for 30 days. Eid is 3 days, and days in which family, and friends gather up and have fun. Money is usually given to the kids, and gifts to adults. So, I've took some tankers in our community who've celebrated this occasion and asked them a simple question.. "Share what Eid Al-Fitr Means to you?" Eid-Al-Fitr means a lot to me. It is the time to rejoice with my family and friends, muslim or not. It's the time where I express my love for Allah (God) and my fellow Muslim brothers and share my happiness with them. Eid-Al-Fitr is the time of the year where I meet my friends and family and share a good moment with them. As I said before it means a lot to me and is probably the best time of the year for me. ___________________________________________________________________________ @sha77777_super Eid-Al-Fitr is an amazing gift which is given to us by Allah (God). This marks the end of our holy month of Ramadan. In Ramadan, we fast and we worship a lot. We feel good because after worshiping so much and receiving such a nice gift from god makes us feel satisfied. Now, you may wonder..... How is Eid-Al-Fitr a gift from god? The answer is simple. From this day, we don't have to fast anymore. There are many savory dishes which you can enjoy prepared by our parents, our neighbors etc. We even get money on this day from our beloved parents, friends etc.. With that money, you can absolutely do anything you want! :D I would prefer to buy crystals with that money. to spend that money in charity. On this day, all Muslims forgive each other and give food to poor people. This occasion means a lot to me mainly because it allows me to spend time with my friends as much as I can and all I see is those happy faces..... So, isn't Eid a special gift from god? :D I hope you all enjoyed this Eid and start waiting for Eid-Al-Adha :P ___________________________________________________________________________ On the day of Eid-Ul-Fitar, Ramadan is over and Millions of Muslims around the world celebrate by Praying to the Lord ( Allah ), Giving gifts and cards (Eidi) to their loved and beloved ones.It gives us the opportunity to get closer to God ( Allah ),It's a moment of happiness and joy shared with family and friends, Non Muslims or Muslims. Eid basically means "Protection of every single Muslim from evil things".Its a tradition to hug each other and saying 'Eid Mubarik' :)This day we apologize our sins and give to the poor and needy and celebrating this beautiful act for the sake of One and only Allah Almighty. ___________________________________________________________________________ For me, Eid is truly something, where I can visit my loved ones, share my Ramadan experience with them, and what makes this so awesome that all my relatives are in the same room with me, and this gives my this special feeling, reminds me that after all, after what happens in the end, we are a family and that's what makes Eid so special. As it reunites the family and brings joy into their lives. So yesterday, I went to my aunt's house, and I was surprised by all the people in there, every single one of them came, and the room was filled with laughter and joy. Then we played some card game, which I didn't win :P The point is, Eid is a blessing, a celebration and most of all, it brings family members together, that's what's really important, as you don't see that much of your loved ones all in one room everyday, and at the last but not least, happy Eid to all the Muslims out there! ___________________________________________________________________________ @Shaloo7 There are basically two Eids for Muslims - Eid ul Fitr (which is also known as the small Eid) and Eid ul Azha (which is known as the big Eid). Both of these Eids are like a holiday or festival or Muslims, just like Christmas for Christians, however, the deeds or actions performed on these days are very different to the others. As for the topic, I'll tell you about Eid ul Fitr specifically. Ramadhan is an Islamic month in which you fast for 29 or 30 days (depending on the moon) - Muslims eat on the Fajr prayer and then they do not eat until the Maghrib prayer. During the time period, they have to do good deeds, worship God, etc. On the 29th of Ramadhan, some groups are arranged and they use telescopes and detailed equipment to see the moon, if it is not visible (during cloudy weather or so). If the moon is spotted (which is the very new moon, extremely thin and hard to see). If the moon is spotted, the next day is considered to be Eid ul Fitr, if not, the moon shall be spotted the next day. Before Eid, the head of the family is considered to give Fitrana of his family to the poor. It is not a big amount.Eid ul Fitr is a gift for Muslims as for all the fast we've done in the previous month, all the good deeds, everything. In the morning, early morning, people go to the mosque or specific places arranged for Eid ul Fitr prayer. The prayer is a bit different from the other prayers that they offer - it has a special way, just a bit more addition to the prayer. After the prayer is over, we make supplication for the world, for the Muslims, for the betterment, and of course, we beg Allah (God) to forgive our sins. Right after the prayer, Eid starts :D We eat special foods, like Vermicelli (seviyan is what it's called in my country). We greet Eid to other people, relatives, friends and family. I personally enjoy a lot on Eid! People receive Eidi - it is a gift in cash or in something that someone purchases and is given to the younger people, as to show their love for them. On this day, mostly children get a lot of Eidi. People go out for fun with their families, they give charity to the poor, and also like to wear new clothes. Fasting on the day of Eid ul Fitr is haram. Everyone enjoys a lot on this blessed day! And that's all. Happy Eid to all! :) ___________________________________________________________________________ For myself, it's a day where all our wrongs are forgiven. A day to hang out with family and friends, and to enjoy! I try make to make good out of these 3 days as it's the only special occasion other than Eid-Ul-Adha. Therefore, I have a lot fun giving some cash out to kids, donating, having yummy meals, and also spending time with my family. Oh, and by the way, I got 200$ in total, didn't spend it on tanki though! :P ___________________________________________________________________________ So there you have it, hope you enjoyed, and learned something new! Peace.

    Get Windows 10 Today! NOW!

Some got it today with the reserve process and had the option to Upgrade or Clean install. If you didn't do that, you must've got it via ISO which only lets you upgrade meaning you'll take all your stuff with you. But i'd recommend clean installing, making sure you back-up your files. Those who are in the reserve process will be notified when it's ready for now, sit back and eat chicken or popcorn, ok.
