Update 270 — balancing of turrets and hulls

What is special about thunder? Why should a Thunder Turret want to self destruct any more than any other Turret? I presume that I am missing something!

Update 270 — balancing of turrets and hulls

Thank you Spanker Tanker. Indeed there are some some well mannered people on Tanki and I agree it is a reflection on real world behavior both good, bad and indifferent. We need a reporting system that is fair, free from abuse, fast and less complicated. There will always be the occasional odd scrap between teem players caused by lack of understanding misreading of situations but these usually disappear after a vent of frustration and after a few minutes is forgotten by both sides. That is normal life. It is the more psychopathic offender that I belive ought to be targeted

Update 270 — balancing of turrets and hulls

There is an ongoing policy of re-balancing or changing the parameters of tanks, turrets and supply's, reportedly in interests of fairness. That might be seen depending on the interest of any particular players expectations and self interest. One might accept that whole heatedly or view it cynically as a commercial ploy to enhance sale of perhaps less popular lines at the expense of ones that have already done very well. Without formerly calculating, most of the changes appear to be up or down only a few percent, not massive changes perhaps but changes that will negate expensive micro upgrades or even perhaps enhance them. The enhanced survival ability of a hull might be negated by the improved fire power of some weapons. Its all swings and roundabouts some will gain a little some lose it will all depend on the hull turret combinations of players and opponents. As this is a virtual game, one played purely on the internet, it might be perceived by the owners in not having to comply with trading laws of various Country's or Community specifically the EEC Laws. I am not an expert on such matters but I would not like to bet on how some changes to products here might by perceived b the Courts if perhaps organisations such as Trading Standards decided to test or force EEC Laws. It might be one thing if this where a completely free game but something entirely different as many players have paid real cash for products and their enhancements. To pt it in a simple way if we were to buy a new car for instance it would not be expected, nor legal in any way if on having that car serviced by a manufacturers dealer network, that we were informed that the car that you had bought with hard earned money had been de-tuned in some way or that the in car entertainment had been made say less entertaining, in order to make another car from the same manufacturer more enticing to buy! That would be a very strait forward legal case. One might be tempted to look at the virtual product in exactly the same way. To change the parameters in a negative way for a product bought from now on is OK but not those already bought and owned. It would be like saying that the expensive all protective paint that you had bought to enhance your tank is now not only unavailable for new people attaining a certain rank but that because you also are not of that rank now and even though you bought the expensive paint legally at the time of purchase it is to be removed taken from your Garage. In my view it might be better perhaps to enhance some products but not others but not to degrade any. The net effect might be over all the same but might be viewed differently by many. Perhaps even to leave existing players the same and all new plays having to comply with changes in specification and re-balance as would happen in the real world with non virtual products. At this point having not been here that long I am not complaining, only summarizing and musing!

Update 270 — balancing of turrets and hulls

I believe that by introducing a penalty for self destruction or for going over the ledge is very sound practice. Deducting a number of points from a team for doing this, will make it more collectively a team responsibility to report incidents of foul play. Normally victims are left with the responsibility on their own to report miscreants. An example that many shaft players might be familiar with, though others often suffer also, is, being pushed from a sniping perch by ones own supposed team mate, deliberately! This can result in the victims tank to die ether directly or indirectly by forcing a suicide if upturned. I feel that the consequence now will be, to reinforce team spirit, taking a more collective view to team health, helping to oust what after all is often in reality a form of bullying or at the very least, very poor humor, particularly when the incident is often repeated many times often even within in the same game! Shaft players also cannot always identify the perpetrator because of the encumbrances of the scope and aiming mechanism. The assailant often just disappearing allowing repeat criminality going unpunished! I expect that over time, this action of penalty, will prove popular , that the five point deduction will be increase to one of greater penalty and will greatly clean up the game. Not only will miscreants, mults ect be more obvious to all of us but we will also take far more care when passing other players in precipitous positions. Of course accidents always will occur occasionally. Initiating an etiquette, reinforcing basic manors will help every one in the long term. If we think about it, that tank pushed over could have been our tank! The incident or incidents might have been the reason why we lost or keep losing.

Vote and get your favorite turret discounted

Will the offer also extend to micro upgrades for each weapon?
