DA gives Isida not much really. "Isida will survive attack" but definitely won't "heal that damage immediatelly" (50% heal for fully MUed M3 !ONLY!), and probably will find herself out of ammo... OTOH DP - I agree - no other turret benefits as much as Isida I agree with that statement without "quick reload" part. Isida without juice is sitting duck. And Freeze can easily back away from frozen Isida and use longer range to its advantage. Yes, its only about 2-3m more. Yes I've been at receiving end of such tactic and it impressed me.

1. If your "plans of good, beautiful, creative playing" was destroyed - than maybe that freeze, that managed to attack you from behind was better at planning? 2. "never ending spark of death" for Isida is AFAIK exactly 6 seconds. 6 seconds of hopelesly running around opponent, exposed to all attacks (not hiding behind buildings like all brave railguns do), praying that he would finally fall. And while 6 seconds is enough to kill a hornet, its usually not enough to destroy Viking. Both those turrets have to come close to kill, and usually use light hulls. If you, o brave railgun/rico/shaft/thunder user, allowed them to come at firing distance - or even more to surprise you - its probably your fault.

Ok, tell me what is wrong with shaft at Generalissimos rank? Since I have tried it wit my alt ( yep, I've got even lower alt) I like it SO much. But everybody's telling me that Shaft sucks at higher ranks.

Help me calculate real shot-to shot time for Shaft. According to wiki, SHaft M4, just after shot, ammo bar depleted: 0.5 sec to exit sniping mode 2.5 sec reload (??!!) 0.5 sec to enter sniping mode 3 sec (1000 energy / 333 energy per sec) to charge fully = 6.5 sec Comparing to Rail (again - M4, ammo bar empty): 5.58 sec reload 1.06 sec delay before shot = 6.64 sec Is that right? Shaft can fire faster (full shot) then Railgun?

I know that knocking is possible with Smoky and Rico. How is Thunder in that matter? I managed to do it (with M0) just once.
-
M1 Isida: Energy = 1000 Consumption per second = 166 = => 6 seond of fire Dmg / tick = 16,5588 tick = 0.5 seconds ==> 12 "ticks" x 16,5588 dmg = 198.7 Either I'm doing something wrong, or wiki is wrong. That calculation would mean that M1 Isida is capable of destroing M1 Dictator (187,6471 hp) , M1 Titan (187,5000 hp), M1 Mammoth (193,5294 hp). Not my experience, really.
-
I've been trying to calculate Isida damage from wiki. If they are correct - each version have 6 seconds of continouos fire. M0 will deal ~170 dmg M1 199 M2 243 M3 295 .... that doesn't exactly match my experience....

I've been reading your discussion on dodging. It's only possible with light hull I suppose? Or do you have any succes in dodging with medium?
-
Hunter M1 has more hp then Viking M1. But unlocks 3 ranks later.
-
Don't like wasp, hunter has late unlocks, dictator is ugly. Soooo... Thunder, Rail, or Shaft with Hornet and VIking (not very original, I know...)
-
It looks like something straight from WW1. Thats one of the things that puts me off.
-
First - very good post. Second - if you assume they will see one another in the same moment, and both have ammo bar full, that would change equiations. 1st shot of Rail in over 1sec delay + 2 x (reload + delay) = ~14 seconds 1st shot of Thunder right away + 4 x reload = 8 seconds Third - that is only true for distance < 70 m
-
^^ Pretty simple really. Rico's DPS >> Twins DPS. In straight out, face to face engagement only way to win vs Rico is to outlast it long enough so it will run out of ammo. And this is possible with heavy, not light hull.
-
Only M1 I have is Isida. I need some other turret to "widen possibilities", esp. something to use in DM. Short ranged turrets (Freeze, Firebird) are out. Late unlock turrets (Rico, Smoky, Twins) are out - I would grow old before I would reach nedded rank for M3. That leaves Thunder, Shaft and Railgun. Thunder feels weak (but maybe M1 is better), Railgun is damn hard for me to master, Shaft feels great - but there is huge gap between M1 and M2. Which one of those three should I choose?
-
Yea, unless Shaft is around and will finish business in single shot, right?
-
I like my lil' Isida, but I'm not sure if I can honestly recommend it. Just as Vettefan once wrote - it can barely kill M1 Hornet. OTOH - no other turret gives you so much to do in Team matches. And I like Team matches.
-
Am I one of "the same exact people"? :) Hard to be sneaky with gun that leaves beam visible for anyone on map, isn't it? BTW - I calculated DPS of turrets, and (if I'm not wrong) Railgun has absolutely lowest DPS, just a little over 60% of Shaft and Thunder. I've expected it's lowest - but not by that much!
-
^^ Under current self-destruction rules is that a good choice?
-
Don't go "ok.." on me. :P Your'e a Generallissimo ffs, write something useful! Ex. "Thunder is good only in real artist's hand and you're not up to", or something like that! -_-
-
I've been looking for vids with Thunder gameplay for inspiration (only recent ones - after updates), aaaand... not good. There are some where Thunder rules - but only with heavy drugging. If it doesn't - results are mediocre at best.
-
Sooo... Hornet better suits Thunder then medium hulls?
-
On the other hand probably no other turret gains as much from DP. So, overal, what are best hulls for small Isida? Hornet + Thunder? Maybe Hunter? Still haven't decided what should I chose... Also - how do you think, what second turret would be best to buy to have most universal combination available? As Isida is short-ranged I'm thinking Thunder or Shaft (and I thought I will never consider Shaft...). Railgun would be also good but its damn hard for me to master...

2 x battle fund again? Excess of money on market leads to inflation. Inflation = prices raise. I hope I'm wrong.

But snaiper47 just proved it doesn't have to be. I hate camping (and suck at it, too), and most Shafters just sit in one place, focused in one direction, praying that someone won't come from behind and methodically rips them apart, while they... s l o w l y turn they turret around hoping to catch opponent in scope. Here shaft was used morelike, do I know, Thunder? With scope. And unlimited range. Whats not to like? ^_^
-
That's great vid. Absolutely different playstyle I've seen so far (I know, I haven't seen much). You know, almost all shafts I see at my rank just camp (most of them not far away from spawn place). You made me want to try shaft. And that was ONLY turret that I knew for sure I don't want to have. Until now. It's all your fault... <_<
