Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I posted in the forum and played the game (more than 1.5 years to be exact) barring some occasional visits to the test server. As such, I am extremely confused about the current state of the game and haven't been able to adapt successfully. In turn, I am facing a lot of problems in battles and can't even muster a K/D of more than 1.00 in most of them. My controls and skill levels are still mostly the same as they used to be, having more practice will obviously make them better though. My main concern is with the alterations as well as the revamped turrets. Strikers kill me with 1 shot (Double dmg), Smokies with 2 (DD), Vulcans absolutely shred me (Especially now that they have the afterburn effect), wasp-railguns and wasp-hammers are everywhere and make a joke out of even heavy hulls. And as a stark contrast to my time before, Ricochet's, Twins' have become rare whereas the amount of Smokies, Freeze in battles has surged dramatically. Everyone also has a lot more supplies than before (it seems) and people having premium accounts dominate much more than before. I, on the other hand, do not have the new alterations and neither the know-how to counter them. So, what should I do? Should I switch turrets, what alterations should I buy, should I go for the "Season pass" thingy or invest a lot of crystals in buying supplies to counter the druggers? The last thing is the drones. They are very unique and some very powerful but literally no one uses them in battles, are they worth buying? Note: I have gone through the wiki, seen some videos on the alts and have checked out the forum but tips from players is something of high value. Thanks for reading :) Profile : https://ratings.tankionline.com/en/user/MJROCKS05

A broken PC and a very important year for in my student life kept me from even touching tanki, I still love the forum and I'm looking forward to re-start checking out this topic regularly though I'm not sure If I can keep up with the updates that have taken place when I was gone. Anyway, you guys (GokuM16, Conqueror, LW, railgun, brd, yourself etc.) have done a great job regularly answering the questions posted here and having fruitful discussions, good to see the community is still in this :D

As I haven't been playing the game for about 4 months now, I'm not in touch with the new updates, could anyone give a brief summary of what all has happened until now? Btw, I checked the patch notes but it doesn't tell me how the community received the updates and I don't have the time to go through all the discussions to know about it either so personal inputs are welcome :) Thanks

0 I had taken a long 4 month break when the update came out. I was supposed to get some batteries in exchange for my old modules but I didn't receive any and because I wasn't playing the game anymore I didn't pursue this issue any further. Are the drones really game changing or just another bad update?

Good to see that this topic is still alive after this long :D

The thing is, kits cheap kits such as paladin, medic, raiden, refrigerator are good "startup kits". They are cheap, have decent protection and paints but they cannot be used in every map/situation unless you buy a secondary turret with a completely different range along with them. I think Raiden is the best bet for you, its good in polygon, useful is most maps and then you can get a long/short ranged turret later on with it.

Sorry for the late reply, I'm very busy nowadays due to studies and have stopped playing tanki completely hence I check the forums occasionally only. As for your query; Your account seems well balanced as of now, no use getting more turrets/hulls (except rail m3 maybe) instead focus on taking them to m4. One thing your garage is lacking are protection modules. Even your m4's will be useless if you don't invest in protection modules. I currently suggest you buy Lion T-B and Griffon T-D, make them 5/20 and then focus on getting your hulls & turrets to m4.
-
Difficult choice because thunder is better in the m1 ranks and twins in the m2 ranks. Do you have the funds to directly take them to m2 or will you be doing it gradually?
-
Fire+twins+isida = bad idea Always try to go for a more diverse garage, you won't have any good long/med ranged turrets and I see no benefit in buying both twins and firebird especially since you have isida already. A lot of people use twins+fire protection (especially in the m3 ranks) and its one of the only reasons I've held off getting a firebird m3 for so long even though I used it literally all the time in the m2 ranks. You can instead go for smoky/thunder m2 or a protection module
-
True that the same module can be upgraded and used in higher ranks but anything below 30% isn't worth the crystals at all, you can instead get their better "M" versions later on. M0/M1 modules are usually more expensive than any hull/turret of the same modification whereas they offer you negligible protection for that amount. Realistically, having ~20% protection doesn't do much, you may manage to barely save yourself from an attack, get lucky and manage to capture a flag/point but are these extremely rare incidences worth the price of a brand new turret? According to me, certainly not.

Depends on the map, the number of druggers and the difference between the kills of the 1st and 2nd guy In med-long ranged maps, the #1 spot is usually 50-60 kills with a reward of 600-800 crystals but it varies too much too be sure. I once got 900+crystals when I made 65 kills in year 2042 but only got around 1k crystals when I made 86 kills (my highest) in silence. In any battle in legend ranks, 600-800 crystals is a good payout.

Better to use the "What to buy, which is better" topic for these kinds of queries instead of creating a separate topic in game discussion. I request the mods to move this topic. As for the query, rail, smoky, thunder shouldn't be as much of an issue as short ranged turrets like isida, firebird and twins. Also, one protection is never enough, for starters I recommend you get the protection with rail+twins+firebird (forgot exact name), it will suit you allround.

Never buy m0/m1 modules irrespective of sale or not. They are a complete waste of crystals as they add insignificant value, better spend those crystals somewhere else.

Completely depends on you, as I told you before, fireworks has hornet which can be used for parkour/space-mode/stg/events and works well with smoky too. The problem is that as most people usually use drugs and have powerful equipment, hence hornet may not help you in non-pro battles in the long run. As for firewall, you won't have any problem using it in any game mode but it requires you to buy the alt and if you've played with firebird a lot, it gets a bit boring sometimes. I would personally go for fireworks just because hornet and hammer are more fun than using firebird which I've played a lot with. Both hammer and firebird are good with titan too so there is no clear winner. Edit (after reading your edited comment) : When you can already play xp/bp in this account, why buy it again in another account?

Going with only 1 combo at any rank is a bad idea. You will easily be able to take up that combo to m3 but there will be many times that the combo will not be suitable for certain game modes, hence having more than 1 combo is usually very essential in tanki. The screenshots Guido fawkes posted are of the same guy we both had an argument about previously. If you calculate for yourself, that player's drugs used/hours played ratio is quite high and that K/D is achieved by focusing on very specific maps/game-modes only which you could do but it will get boring soon enough. You have been in an active poster in this thread for quite sometime and you should already know why everyone prefers to have multiple combos instead of sticking to one combo only. Partially incorrect, twins is really annoying without drugs too, the thing is that nowadays everyone has plenty of drugs at their disposal at any rank due to the mission chains and the war so drugs have become essential to win games. Twins is a very good weapon overall and can also be used in pro battles (island, hill, noise, silence, poly) without drugs. Best smoky m3 kits are guardian, paladin and for rico it's redneck. It would be better if you bought rico in stock though as kits with rico aren't that good.
-
Good enough, but as you dont plan on buying another hull, better spend those crystals on maybe getting a med-long ranged m2 (shaft/magnum/smoky) and trying them out if you want to. Its not a compulsion or anything, but would help you out as many people have isida and twins protections in the m3 ranks (and that too huge protection).
-
It requires drugs to be really effective and smoky is outdone by thunder/rico in multiple circumstances. Its a formidable combo though, very good for defence and DM's but hornet/viking would overall go better with smoky Tornado kit is a efficient investment only if you play xp/bp otherwise the combo is useless as compared to others in the m2 bracket. Better not to go for it as you already want to get smoky and both of them will save the same purpose for you.

The same patterns are used all over tanki so its very hard to guess the exact locations and some locations match too well with the drop zones like the last picture and the 1st one any hints for no.3 or no.5?
-
Even then, its too hard. It could be easier but I'm sure they've taken pictures at an angle to make it even harder. Already checked 7 maps, got only 1 =___= Too hard Edit: Got 2, very close on the 3rd one

11/15 I knew I shouldn't have gone for the paints, goddamnit :/

When will the prizes be distributed? Btw thx for the consolation, good to know my 2 hrs didn't go to waste :P

Hammer m2 is pretty powerful, not as much as its m1 counterpart but still good enough to one-shot light hulls and take out most medium hulls. It's alterations are probably the best in game and it's a beast in DM. Check my previous posts about hammer and you'll see. As for firewall, it is a good all round kit: good discount, good module and hunter works well with smoky (not sure about this as much after the hull update), but firebird m2 is really good, with its module is becomes even better and it works in almost every map and game mode. Try them out sometime in test servers if you get the chance.
-
Firstly, the map would have to be super big to accommodate all 100 players and to make sure that players dont get killed after 1-2 secs on joining the game. Railgun and hornet is the dumbest combo for this kind of a game-mode for the reason you have yourself given: "They can be 2 -shotted", making killing players very easy, 3/4^th of all players will die within the first 30 seconds with this mechanic and campers will be the ones to move forward taking the fun out of the game-mode. Good idea, bad execution plans. This mode is unsuitable for tanki.
-
Best m2 kits would be minotaur kit/Fireworks kit/Firewall kit I would recommend minotaur kit as twins suits titan perfectly as compared to hammer/fire. It would provide you with a good short-med ranged turret and good protection. Fireworks kit is more of a "fun" kit to play with, smoky performs extremely well with hornet and with a bit of drugging you have a good chance of winning in RGB/CTF battles. Going for firewall will ensure that you have an excellent short-ranged and long-ranged garage but it depends on what you want to play with.

That might not always be the best course of action especially in the WO5-1st Let. ranks. Explaination: ---> Suppose you buy a m1 twins through a kit in the early WO ranks and MU it to m2, you immediately get a big benefit and have a huge advantage in any battle you play, usually topping the scoreboard and earning tons of experience. But, just as you reach the lieutenant ranks, your advantage starts diminishing away and its time to get the next modification. Now here is the dilemma which many players face, buy the ram/jam/minotaur kit in 1st let, wasting a lot of crystals in the process as you already have the m2 modification OR wait till let. colonel to save a lot of crystals and redeem your m2 twins for free and MU it to m3. ---> This choice depends on the type of equipment, its usage and the amount of crystals you can re-earn with it, which players are unable to forsee and many a time make big mistakes they regret later on. ---> A simple solution to this is to get a secondary combo (in a kit) which is of a different range/type than your current combo at the eariler unlock ranks, play with it till you reach the unlock rank of your already m2'ed equipment, claim it for free and go on. What I'm trying to say is that it all depends on what your plan of action is, there is no best option as such instead one should do all of the 3 options in a planned, timely manner.
