He even said I should find a game on steam I like and get him to install that because he thinks it would be better to play something more interesting than tanki(like portal2 a.k.a. the best game of all time :) )

I wasn't trying to "win", I agreed with you from the start that SOME XPers act how you said,all I was saying the whole time was that not ALL of them are like that, so you can't be biased against them so heavily simply based on what combo they use. If I really wanted to I could argue that there are far far better combos for the "high fund" games that you seem so fond of, than titan twins, but even if I sincerely believed that, I still wouldn't hate them all and say they all consider twins their "religion" just because of that, because that's a horrible attitude to have and it makes everyone you interact with lose respect very very quickly.

I have said dozens if times, yes there are situations where XP is not appropriate, yes there are situations where I would switch to viking or titan and a different turret without hesitation, but I am 100% against the way you generalise, and say all XPers act like "railgun is their religion", no I'm not saying railgun is perfect, I'm not saying it is, I'm simply saying that maybe you should learn to treat people with respect till you learn otherwise, rather than say they are using a certain combo "just to piss you off" or "because it's their religion". It's definitely not a mindset that will make anyone show you any respect. Yes I am a very big fan of XP. I myself use XP in normal battles a lot, and I do absolutely fine, in fact a lot of the time I do better than heavy hulls, even in noise CTFs, poly CPs, and any number of other battles and modes. no one has ever told me to change or leave because if I need to then I will. Just because XPers use their favourite combo in a lot of battles, doesn't mean it's the only combo they're willing to use. I have never met anyone who ONLY has XP, they always have another good combo they can use if XP doesn't work in the situation they are put in.

It is very unfortunate that a lot of XPers think like this, but you can't generalise and hate anyone who uses XP just because they use XP, there is always away to be useful, I have come first in non-format poly CPs and noise CTFs, and other high fund games, with XP before, many times. There's no reason to hate anyone who uses a particular combo just because they use that combo. So XPers can definitely compete in high fund battles, and people(at least I hope most people) don't play battles JUST for the crystals, so the size of the fund doesn't matter that much all the time, that's why low fund battles exist at all, they are popular because they're also fun, in a different way. And as I said before, no one combo is completely useless in anyone battle or mode, at anyrank, yes some are less effective in certain situations, but people use what they think is fun, if it's that important to you that your team doesn't have a tanker with a certain combo, then maybe you could try and rethink the way battles are supposed work, it's supposed to be diverse, if you have certain combos on your team then you simply adjust your strategy slightly to accomodate them, for example if you have a mammoth isida then you can attack more if they defend, and if you have anXPer then you will know you always have some covering fire from mid-field.

In CTF as well an XPer with any amount of skill can simply snipe when necessary or go to the point to help out if need be. And yes, in some cases a titan twins would be more useful than XP. For example in a poly CP, then yes a titan twins would be much better, but now you yourself are now only using one example, CP in a small-medium map,what happens if it is CP in kungur? Or madness? Or any other large map, then a light hull with a long range turret would be far more useful than a titan twins, because you can get to different points quickly, and shoot enemies(for example a titan twins) before they get anywhere near you. I wasn't implying that XP is good in all situations, my apologies if I misled you into thinking that, there are plenty of situations that I can think of that XP would not work in, that is the main reason I bought titan and viking, so that I am not completely useless in any situation. It is always good to have a long, short and mid range turret, and a light, heavy and medium hull. EDIT: I just reread my earlier post and, actually I did not use only one example, I tried to explain at least in part how XP could potentially be used in either of the two situations you mentioned. I would also like to point out that no matter what combo you use, there is always a way it can be used effectively, so there is no combo that is used "just to piss off your teammates", because all combos can be used in a way that can help your team.
