No i don't understand arabic :lol: ... i only lived in egypt for the past 26 yrs and was born here and i belong to the banu hashem tribe :D I think you should get outside of your own shell and look around .. mothers day is celebrated around the whole Arab world and it's a very important sales season too. And al arabiya being censored for writing it's article proves my point even more.

Yes we don't need this day to remind us of how great our mother's are .. however this day exists in the whole arab world On the date i mentioned and in-fact huge sales for home appliances happen the week before it for mother gifts.
