    I Made It

Congratulations and well done. :) I think it's quite an achievement not to have used a single garage drug along the way - and I believe you when you say you didn't! I'm also impressed that you didn't have many protection paints to help you either. I've always liked CP the best - though not the single point ones like Polygon, ect. Shame it isn't more popular - and now it's not so good anymore because of the score cap update. When I first tried Railgun, I didn't like the waiting time between shots so moved on to several other turrets. But I started to get bored eventually, and gave Railgun another try. Well now it has become my favourite turret (on Hunter or Viking), so I'd say definitely worth another shot (so-to-speak)! I found playing Camp TDM great for improving one's aim! Anyway, nice to know some can make it through this game without using garage supplies or spending a fortune on paints. :)

Episode 63 of the V-LOG is here

Hmmm, I guess many Premium account holders will also be druggers (to make the most out of double crystal rewards), so I do hope they whizz quickly through the ranks and past us poor minority players who prefer not to use garage supplies. :P 20% protection at the lower ranks seems OP to me. Mind you, I guess one is only 'renting' that privilege so I wonder how cost-effective it will really be in relation to the rewards? I'm very curious to see how much a Premium pass will cost. Are people really that impatient that they will spend money to advance quicker in a game that may not be around for that much longer if the Unity Tanki proves to be more popular? But if you can afford it, knowing that it may only be a short-term experience - then that's entirely your choice of course. No doubt Devs will gather information from how the Premium account model plays out here and tweak it for the Unity version. I guess we might start seeing the phrases "noob premium" as well as the usual "noob drugger" soon as there are already plenty of angry people on the battlefield as it is in this game because of various imbalances!

    Details about the lag

I am experiencing all the same symptoms as everyone else (started several days ago) - including not having a flashing cursor available to type my login details (as someone else mentioned) UNTIL I minimize then maximise again the login screen. I know absolutely nothing about technical stuff, but what is really strange is that my partner has NO problems at all and he is on the same router (wired connection) in the same room! We can be playing at the same time and I have all these problems and he doesn't. If I'm playing on my own I still have all these problems, though occasionally I can get through a game without bugs. I have several accounts, including one via Mini Clip, and they all have the same issues. Could this be a Flash issue? I have a moderately powerful newish gaming PC, he has a basic desktop - but he has Windows 10 (free upgrade from Windows 7) whereas I have Windows 8.1. Don't know if that is relevant...

Growing your arsenal is now easier!

Sorry, seemed like a great idea at first, but down-voted as I couldn't buy a lower modification of Firebird on an alt account just to try it out. Not having to buy a previous modification is great, not being allowed to buy a previous modification is not so great.

    Tanker's Day in TO

    50%
  6. This update has caused far more problems than it has solved. You're right, you might as well leave a battle now as soon as the score starts to get to a certain gap (perhaps more than 10 though) because you know that there is no chance to regroup and fight back - even with plenty of time left on the clock. New people won't bother to join now for the same reason - they can see by the score that it's a lost cause, unless they are only joining to start the next round or they have missions to complete. The only ones that I can see who benefit are the first couple of people on the winning side - the rest of the players get very few crystals for staying and trying to fight back, and the battle fund is too low even for some of the players on the winning side. On the other side are those really good battles with plenty of players and very close scores. They too are cut short by the cap - which causes a lot of frustration and anger. This is a case of quantity over quality of gameplay. English kids are back at school now, so that will have some effect on the numbers I should think.
  7. Hey Duck, I really like this alternative V-Log idea! However, I was looking forward to hearing your reasons why you think this update is "bad", "poor" and "I don't like it" - but you didn't explain! Do it again ... :P
  8. I have to disagree here. I think it's important for as many people as possible to have a say - even if they are coming to the same conclusions as others. They are adding weight to previous conclusions. It's very easy to up or down vote the original post, but it does not tell the Devs why the majority don't like this update. If the majority are saying the same sort of thing then maybe, just maybe, someone might take some notice.
  9. :D I have actually started looking for 30 min multi-point CP battles in the hope of getting 12 - 15 minutes play out of it, but like you say, not many of them around as yet. But this still doesn't address the fact that this update is destroying perfectly good, close games with a good number of players on both sides - the type of game which I would have thought would be most beneficial to the product (Tanki). This leaves people feeling frustrated and robbed of the opportunity to try to make a comeback. It's like playing a 90 minute game of football: the score is 2-1 after 45 mins with 11 players on both sides. The referee then blows his whistle at half time but says the game is now over - WAT???!!!
  10. Regarding CP with three or more points: I don't understand how the devs can be so blind to the negative effects this update is having on good games. Do they not understand that in their quest to 'improve' the game they are killing off great games with close scores and plenty of players on both sides within just a few minutes of starting?!!! Who can be bothered to keep starting over? When the round restarts the teams are more unbalanced than before so it's not worth staying waiting for new people as the score heads towards the cap so fast - and it's not worth new people joining when they know it's going to end so quickly. Also, when you scan down the list of 15 minute battles, what's the point of joining a battle to try to help the losing team? Even with a whole 12 minutes left on the clock, it's not possible to turn the tide anymore as the score shows it will be almost finished by the time you join. It's like continually joining games with only a minute left - what's the point?!!! You have taken away my opportunity to join losing sides (which I prefer to do) and try to help balance the game, and maybe even turn it around. In a survey done by the Devs a few months ago it clearly showed that the 15 minute battle was the most popular. Devs, you are killing off the most popular battle time!!! Do I really need to repeat myself and what many others have said that score caps do not address imbalances, but much much worse, they are killing off good close (or potentially close) games too soon! And they were really hard to find in the first place! Before the update, even if a game wasn't winnable, you could still have fun and plenty of kills if there were a similar number of players on both sides. If nothing else, it was useful practice - but that opportunity has gone too... It's like throwing the baby out with the bathwater! I repeat, I am talking about multi-point CP only! I do not play enough CTF or TDM to know how those are affected.
  11. Devs, You have well and truly killed my favourite mode - the 15 min CP battle with three or more points. For example, 15 min Kungar CP ends 100 - 99 after just 8 mins!!! No chance to get into the game, no chance to make even the slightest comeback, no chance to join later to try to help the losing team - it's all over before it's even got going. Why would I want to keep restarting and play a second round of a game that was frustrating and too short the first time?! It is tedious, boring, pointless and a complete waste of my time. And no, I do not want to play 30 min battles. Decent CP games (that are not Polygon, Island or Arena) were always hard to find, but things improved with the Daily Missions - now you've ruined that improvement. This new system just does not take into account the number of CPs on a map, nor how close the scores are - do you even know how your own game works anymore? Of all the updates I've experienced so far, this has done the most damage to the gameplay - for me in CP anyway. I am actually quite upset about this one!
  12. I think Flash Tanki is the test server for Unity Tanki... Having said that, something has to be done about the many lop-sided battles which are not very satisfying for either side in the end (though more satisfying for the winners obviously), so I have to give them credit for trying to improve the situation - though this is not the solution in it's current state...
  13. This is a very bad idea for CP maps with three or more points - battles will end way too early. Players will not have a chance to turn things around - which can be done easily with a 50 point difference (except on single point maps probably). What you should stop is the ability to capture points when there are no opposing players (or maybe even few opposing players). Often a person creates a game and racks up a score before anyone has even joined the other side. They may not have gained any crystals, but they've gained a huge advantage - this needs to change.

    starting over

Points 1 and 2 certainly apply to me - I have four accounts at present. But another reason for me is: It is so hard to find any CP games that are not Polygon, Arena or Island since getting to Captain - even on Russian servers. The lack of variety of maps played as one ranks up is dreadful IMO - particularly when you only like CP mode!

Improved system for changing equipment in battle

On the face of it, like many others have said, just 1 minute sounds like quite a ludicrous and unnecessary idea given the potential disruption it will cause to team games - especially when added to other problems like lack of enough players, unbalanced team numbers, players constantly leaving and joining, pausing and of course mults. All these things make it hard to have a reasonably balanced (in terms of number of players actually fully participating) team battle from start to finish. I think someone's having a laugh... At the very least this should only be an optional Pro-Pass feature. 5 minutes, as suggested by others, seems a bit more reasonable at least... There are much better suggestions on how to improve the game from the players themselves in the 'Ideas and Suggestions' section IMO!

Open testing of changes in balance!

After spending time and effort (and fun!) playing a Massacre CP that I created, and managing to be top of the table at that point without drugging, I get disconnected for foul play!!!! What's going on there? I thought anti-cheat was not ready yet. Or is this just a rare thing? Very unhappy about what just happened after all that effort!

    High Rankers Bully Medium Ranks

I can't say I understand the argument for wanting lower ranks to leave a battle. If a game is open to ranks from WO5 to Generalisimo, well then, you've got to be prepared for WO5s to join surely? If not, then don't join battles with lower ranks activated. Even if they are higher in rank with not a great combo - it's not against any rules is it? The way the ranking works, you are forced to keep ranking up, whether you can afford to upgrade your equipment or not. I don't think it's right to tell someone to leave because you don't like their combo or the way they play. This is a game open to members of the public of all ages, abilities and combos and there are no rules that say you can't join - that's the way the game has been designed at the moment. Maybe some kind of 'match-making' system (as mentioned in the 'ideas' section) could allow people to choose more restricted criteria when creating some battles? One needs to except that when playing, one won't always have the perfect team unless you create private battles with your friends. Personally, I think it's a miracle that complete strangers from around the world, of different ages, cultures, genders, abilities, etc. can suddenly come together for 15 minutes or so and form a loose 'team' - without even communicating most of the time! Amazing! Don't get me wrong, I can well understand the frustration for very competitive players of having a weaker team because of someone's combo or ability, but then there are many other imbalances in this game (uneven team numbers, drugging, inactivity, etc.) - it's the nature of the beast as far as I can see. Deliberate sabotage is quite another matter of course, but for me, if people at least make an effort, that's good enough. But then, I don't need to win to feel like I've had a good game (or not).

Popular maps now not so popular

100% agree. I only play CP, but am not at all interested Polygon, Arena or Island - I prefer more Points in a map for starters. At the very low ranks there are a nice variety of CP maps being played, but I've noticed that as I rank up they slowly disappear and are now dominated by the ones mentioned above. It is very hard to find something else, even on the Russian servers. I went back to using two other lower rank accounts I have, mainly so I can play what I consider to be better and more fun maps (plus try out other turrets) - but it doesn't take long to rank up at the early levels, and before you know it you start losing this variety again. :( I waste far more time server-hoping trying to find an appropriate game, than actually playing!

    Watch V-LOG 37!

I think it might be because they realise that many people never need to spend a penny on the game - they just live off the free daily bonuses plus crystals earned through playing. This update seems like a 'slight of hand' subtle way of removing the free stuff under the guise of offering something better - but maybe I'm just being very cynical...
  21. What makes me mad? I've just been told I'm a hacker because I managed to make a lot of kills when outnumbered and not drugging (apart from picking up the odd drop box)!!! Being accused of cheating when it's down to a lot of effort (and probably better equipment) is not nice!

    Women’s Day in Tanki Online!

This is a nice surprise, but I think only women should be allowed to make use of these discounts... ...joke! :P

Open testing of the mouse controls!

I have never got on with WASD controls. In Tanki, I use the arrow keys to move and Z & X to turn the turret.

I don't know why there is a problem - this is all very new to me. Hopefully someone will come along soon who can help. :)
