Other [Issue 57] Why To Ignore Gold Box Hunting
Flexoo replied to Flexoo in [Issue 57] Why To Ignore Gold Box Hunting Newspaper Archive
How's life, Tankers and Tankeresses? Ehm, I grasp that it's quite presumptuous of me to start this kind of topic. Whoever has had the pleasure to play alongside my tank knows I have a long history with gold box fishing. I am an obsessed maniac who won't miss a chance to capture the golden beauty. Perhaps you deem I am reasonably hypocritical (you got that right!). However, I feel an obligation to divulge the reasons why to ignore this habituating, life-threatening activity, coming from the first-hand expertise of a hopeless gold box hunter. Pardon me for being so straightforward and skipping a more thoughtful intro, but I have to scrape up and bury the bits and pieces of my gold hunter dignity before sunrise. Anyways, human life-span is already way too short to be shortened even more by futile blather. And thus, without any further procrastinating, you should not hunt for the gold boxes because; You Will Most Likely Fail POW, mind blown. You surely did not foresee that I would brandish an argument of such caliber this soon, but if the matter of fact that you will repeatedly ride your tank through the vale of tears doesn't convince you, then I don't know what will. The success rate is different with every player - however, you must face the unpalatable truth that most of your hunting efforts will misfire. Even the cream of Gold Hunting society can't brag about astounding statistics. I hate to show you the mirror, but this is how most of your attempts look like close-up: Yeah! Embrace the truth. You'll fall flat after the first obstacle. Believe it or not, this is actually one of the better things that can happen to you, as it's far more acceptable to fail at the very start than waiting for the fiasco coming half a minute later after the siren. Isn't it utterly pointless to try and try, knowing you won't succeed 95% of the time? I am convinced it is, mkay? It Tends To End As An Embarrassing Moment I really feel sorry for all of you who are unaware of all the circus happening when the gold box is to be delivered. That pandemic enthusiasm blinding sober judgment, chaotic driving around convoyed by ceaseless nudging and splendid chat prayers reinforcing the general mood. All this provides a breeding-ground for upcoming cringe-worthy and all-out awkward moments in battle. Any spectator out there must be rolling on the floor laughing when he observes a pile of tankers grinding and lagging atop each other. About 30 secs later, the grandiose show concludes to a climax where one lucky fella touches the box, while 8 other failures kick the bucket flipped on their belly. Please, if you already reached around 10% of my current awkwardness, why do you fish for such situations? Instead, get your camera running, pounce on some popcorn and enjoy the online comedy named 'gold box hunting'. It Diverts Your Attention There are two flags in CTF: one you should defend and one you should capture. Tankers, why is it that you completely ignore them when the gold box falls? As I inscribed in my earlier point, the likelihood of failure is insanely high, so aim your sight on the battle objective. I don't know why should you give priority to a gold box over the Flag. It's obvious the only thing you will successfully capture in a gold box moment will be a fatal error. It's a Rather Pricey Hobby Whoever told you that chasing gold boxes will earn you loads of crystals is a very very bad (emphasis on bad) person. I would do some math to prove my point - unfortunately, anything that requires addition, subtraction, multiplication or any other mathematical operation gives me a headache. However, put two and two together. The value of Double Armors, Repair Kits, and Speed Boosts must have already exceeded your crystal incomes from gold boxes. On top of that, you simply have to buy a shoe-like Dictator for this activity. Without Dictator you are: a.) a bad Mult. b.) a bad Gold Hunter. To summarize it: Q: Is gold box hunting profitable? A: Nah. Q: Will gold box hunting cover all the aforementioned expenses? A: Nah. Q: Will @TriNitroToIuene's D/L ratio ever reach 0.5? A: Irrelevant, but nah. It Makes You Feel Under The Weather 'Magic mirror on the wall, who's the simplest one of all?' You & me... because we still fall for the sweet candy lure knowing we will eventually hit on a sour core. C'mon! The general cussedness of things guarantees the first lager in sight will collect the coffer leaving salty sprinkles in your eyes. It's well-documented fact that the gold box is in 99.9% cases taken by either a lagger, mult, troll, or that guy with a D/L less than 0.1. Do not even bother going for it. Just imagine the thrill of capturing the sweet 50,000 April fool's gold box annihilated by some lagging Dictator. Would you like to taste the bitterness of such moment? I bet you wouldn't by any means. Ergo, focus your attention on something more funny, meaningful and productive... like knitting. You Will Be Extremely Confuzzled After 8 hours of pretending you a have 'real student life' outside TO, you finally come back home and turn on this thing you shamelessly brand as your computer. Fatigued and literally spewed out from all the tiresome sitting around, you decide to relax and play few matches of your favorite online game. You click on one of the links leading to a seemingly interesting battle and then, after several minutes of careless destroying, a bizarre gold box siren alarms you. Delighted at first, you soon realize that the map you chose to play on has this many drop locations: Concerned about the painful reality that your gold box GPS system is once again not working properly, you hesitantly jump down to investigate another location, just to find out that the gold box was taken. Fortunate for you, somehow another gold box notification appears on the screen. The spot is, understandably, located in the furthest corner of the map which nobody ever checks. Luckily, you and a few other guys discover it; but since you were first, you secure the best footing for jumping once the chest drops. You're impatiently waiting to make that decisive jump... but the gold box stuns you when it suddenly spawns directly on the ground. Confusion! Amok! Ragequit! This chain reaction is eminent for gold box hunting. It Triggers Undesirable Reactions I don't want to terrify the general public, but there are rather disturbing reports coming from several witnesses of gold box situations saying that many failed gold box hunters were negatively affected for several days or even months when they faced the disappointment of gold box failure. One tanker reportedly demolished a man-size portrait of Semyon, yelling the words 'Admin that gold box was mine!'' Another spiritually-broken individual cringed in the corner of his room, mumbling; 'DA, SB, RK, ..DA, SB, RK'. Ultimately, based on this trustworthy and definitely-not-fabricated information, I plead that you stay away from these life-endangering gold box situations! And there you have it. I believe these seven justified reasons provide enough background for my point. Now, I must be going! *Clicks on link to a gold box rain*- 17 replies

Contest [Issue 57] Map Renaissance Campaign - October
Flexoo replied to Flexoo in [Issue 57] Map Renaissance Campaign - October Newspaper Archive
Hello, tankers. We've all been given the marvelous opportunity to choose from a colossal palette of maps, leading to diverse gameplay. Over the years, one map substituted the other on the illusory podium of 'most appreciated battlefields'. However, every coin has two sides, and we must acknowledge the fact that the vast majority of Tanki's maps are totally ignored, god-forsaken and seemingly doomed to obscurity. Therefore, I'll try to see if we can avert the misfortune of rare maps with these monthly tasks and challenges! :excl: Important Announcement! Since we still did not receive any entries which would provide all 4 right battle screenshots, it was decided to lower the requirements to three screenshots instead of four. In other words, if you deciphered at least 3 maps and already have screenshots from these you can now enter the contest. Prizes will be slightly changed in following manner: 1st place: 25 000 crystals, 2nd place 15 000 crystals and third place 10 000 crystals. Good luck. Contest is still running! This month's task is quite easy, I dare say. You simply have to decipher the clues provided below to learn the name of the map. However, your job does not end by discovering the names - you have to consequently play on these maps, and provide a screenshot of a good game (commonly known as 'GG'). Of course, GG is a broad term, so I will clarify the conditions; - The battle fund must reach a certain value and since each rank has different fund growth, the fund requirements will be as follows: If your rank is - - battle fund must be at least 500 crystals. If your rank is - - battle fund must be at least 750 crystals. If your rank is - - battle fund must be at least 1,000 crystals. - Additionally, the number of players in the battle must make up at least 50% of the maximum map capacity (e.g. if the map's capacity is 10 players, there must be at least 5 tankers present in the final score table) Screenshot requirements: Your screenshots must meet these criteria for the sake of authenticity; - Visible rank bar - author of the screen must be the same as author of the entry. - Time and date - screenshots must be taken after the official start of contest. - You must wear Orange, White or Green paint. - Only screenshots showing the final score table are accepted! - The screenshot must abide the aforementioned battle fund and capacity criteria of being a 'good game'. - Click here to see an example screenshot. Clues: If you decipher these clues, they will give away the names of the maps you're searching for. Rules: - Public discussion of clues is prohibited. Any hints posted here will be instantly hidden and the author will be disqualified from the contest. - All your entries MUST be sent ONLY to @Map_Contests via personal message (PM). Entries sent or posted elsewhere will be disregarded. - Send only full entries. Entries must contain 4 screenshots (one from each deciphered map). Also, your screenshots must show the map hidden in the deciphered clue and must abide by the aforementioned criteria. Prizes: The first three tankers will receive these prizes; 1st place: 35,000 crystals 2nd place: 25,000 crystals 3rd place: 15,000 crystals Mini-Giveaway We understand that not everyone has the time or skill to solve these quests. Thus, anyone who posts a screenshot here of a 'good game' following the same screenshot and fund criteria mentioned above will get the chance to win one of three 5,000 crystal prizes awarded to three random tankers. If you want to enter this mini-giveaway, simply post a screenshot of a good game from one of these maps; - Atra - Berlin - Gubakha - Magistral. That's it, tankers! I hope you will lose your heart to some of these rare maps and start playing them more often. Enjoy your battles, and good luck with the task. The contest results will be announced in Issue 58.- 50 replies

Review [Issue 57] Community Events - A Sneak Peek Behind The Scenes
Flexoo replied to Flexoo in [Issue 57] Community Events - A Sneak Peek Behind The Scenes Newspaper Archive
The successful launch of the EN Community Events at the beginning of September demands a detailed report which will cover the course of the very first competitions. Provided that you take an interest in the old-to-new, bettered Community Events, proceed to read about the entertaining mini-games that took place last month. Before we unleash information on the action-packed events, I would like to elucidate a few questions that may raise from ranks of tankers who never encountered events before. Feel free to skip this educational part and jump straight into the events themselves if you already have a knowledge of their operation. Q: What are Community Events? A: I would define Community Events as mini-games and challenges which usually provide a different gaming experience from traditional battle modes. In contrast with unofficial mini-games hold by players, community events have pre-defined rules. Official Event helpers uphold these rules and have the power to deal with any violators. Q: Where can I find more about them? A: You can find everything related to the Community Events right in this separate forum section. The forum contains a crucial topic that you should read before attending the events. I advise you check the event's calendar - where you can find the scheduled events for the upcoming month. Also, remember to read the general event rules as well as the rules of each and every event you attend. Q: How can I join/participate? A: You can participate in the Community Events by clicking the link provided on official TO Facebook page. Make sure your rank meets the criteria. Besides, don't forget to convert the event's opening hour (UTC+0) in to your local time. Q: How the Events progress? A: We can divide each event into three stages - preparation, execution and conclusion. Before the event begins, Event helpers create the foundation (e.g. planting mines for Minehunt) and arrange the opening of the Event. Once everything is settled, tankers join the battle and prepare for the Event itself. When Event organizers evaluate the situation and resolve everything is ready, they start the event with the command 'Go'. Once you see this command in the chat, you can execute the event objective. When all the winners are decided, Event organizers and helpers enclose the event with the end phrase and presumably leave the scene. Q: Why should I participate? A: Implicitly, there are worthy prizes waitin' for the winners. However, that's definitely not all. There's also the chance to try and experience new, never tried tasks and challenges which break your daily monotony. I hope that clarified things and cleared your unfamiliarity out of the way for the most part. Hence, we can proceed to the narration of the September events. However, before we do so, I would like to point out that event's progress description contains a plenitude of screenshots and text, and thus I took the liberty of posting each event below separate spoilers. If you are interested and want to find out how the course of September events went, click on the spoiler below the event's general overview. Kill The King The first September event I was able to attend and the one I want to let you know about is Kill The King (KTK). The purpose lies in destroying the outwardly powerless but heavily guarded King. The king is practically a mere bystander, dependent on the brute vigor of his defenders. Your job as a participant is to overcome the minefields, defeat the guards (event helpers) and successfully assassinate the resistless Rex before your rivals do so. Find more information here: Kill The King Event's Course Date: 18th September 2016 Shooting Range 2 An abruptly compelling event where the winner is not the one who destroys the most tanks, but the one qualified and strategically-thinking sniper who manages to destroy the last standing helper (referee). Does it sound easy to you? Well, be aware of the fact that fellow competitors won't stand still. Oh, I almost omitted the fact that helper counterparts are armored beasts always ready to shoot at your positions. Find more information here: Shooting Range 2 Event's Course Date: 20th September 2016 Box Collector The Box Collector Event must bring back memories from numerous Massacre battles, especially with a popular mini-game usually known by the term 'Save the Repair Kit'. The objective is explicit and can easily be derived from the Event name itself. Catch the predetermined supply (in this case, a Double Damage box) before anyone else. It's an easy-looking but extremely challenging activity which fits the bill of being like a tough gold box situation. Practicing your jumping, timing and tactical approach helps even in everyday battles. Find more information here: Box Collector Event's course Date: 24th September 2016 Lone Wolf This event will certainly test you in situations where you can only rely on your own skills and knowledge. Be the best tanker on the battlefield and prove you are able to achieve success with your own power. The first three tankers who place in the top are awarded with decent number of crystals. A perfect exercise for Deathmatch lovers. Find more information here: Lone Wolf Event's course Date: 26th September 2016 Tanki Race I The title is pretty much self-explanatory and so I believe I don't really need to go far into the details. Tanki Race I always takes place on Monte Carlo, which is in its own right one of the hardest maps to hold a head-spinning competition. Your assignment is to defeat other racers while constantly turning your turret. This amusing obstacle course will grind your driving skills to the bone! Find more information here: Tanki Race I Event's course Date: 28th September 2016 Minehunt One of the oldest events ever to spring from the minds of innovative tankers, Minehunt is rightfully a popular event held almost daily, either as an official Community Event or as a fan-made source of amusement. You can always bet that event helpers, guided by the Event Administrator who's furthermore a leader of the best EN Parkour Club, will create an amazing and challenging minehunt with some really hard-to-reach locations. If you are confident in your parkouring and co-operative abilities, give it a go and try to reach the hardly accessible positions marked with mines. Find more information here: Minehunt Event's course Date: 30th September 2016 The first month of the official EN Community Events is behind us, and I can pleasantly confirm that the Event Helper team did a great job. Naturally, some difficulties occurred at the start, but everything was solved for the participants to enjoy. Join and support the official Community Events and stay tuned for more reports coming soon in the following Issue! -
Očakávam tak 20-30% zľavy, goldy si myslím že nebudú zvýšené to skôr x2 fundy na možno dva tri dni, dekorácie a to hadam aj bude vsetko :p

Yes, please post your itineraries ONLY here.

I am not sure if you meant collecting as 'capturing' the gold box, if you did then the answer is yes, however the chances of gold dropping on ranks around yours is rather small. If you meant collecting as getting a gold box supply in mission, then the answer is no. You have to be Warrant Officer 1 to have a chance of getting the Gold box Supply mission. I suggest you to check this topic (click here). You can find and learn about most of the gold box drop locations here. The best way is to check the areas with biggest number of drop locations, if you don't find it there check the places where other players gather. Battle fund affects the chance of Gold box dropping in battles (excluding the Gold box Supply of course). With every crystal added to the fund there is a 1/10000 chance that a gold box will be dropped. Simply ignore them. You can also click on their name and then select 'Ignore'.
