Like you put it, let me break it don't simply: Sometimes it's obvious, but mostly you cannot know if its a noob that you killl every time you blow up a tank. Thus, if you 'slaughter' (or kill) a player once or multiple time the implication is that he's a noob. I'm sure you've been spawn killed multiple times in some games and you likely did the same to others. Does it means you're a noob or they are? Also you make the connection to the OP OD/Alteratioon combo as a way to kill nobs, except you will kill anyone with it, not just noobs. For example, I see you coming at me with a Rail, I have 50% vs Rail, so I think I can take 2-3 shots and live and have time to kill you - Then you one-shot me with your OD/Alteration combo: 'What a noob, he died easy, xaxaxaxa...' Again, if you have a Protection it is normal to assume it's going to protect, doesn't make one a noob. - You wrote this: Imagine Railgun with large caliber ammo alteration coupled with hornet's overdrive and booster drone. Perfect for slaughtering noobs having 50% protection . If you had written: 'Perfect for slaughtering unsuspecting tankers having 50% protection' I would not have batted an eye. As it is, reading your statement one must extrapolate that if he/she's meeting you in battle and you one-shot him/her using this combination you will think him/her a noob. I one-shoot people all the time, doesn't make them noobs. Like I wrote earlier, this is not about the OD or combo or Drone, it is about your wide call to noobness that is insulting.

THIS I would very much like to know. Also, do turrets under Viking OD consume energy? Because at the speed we saw that Rico shooting in that video, looks like it doesn't deplete...
-
Not saying that, however in non-clan battles lots of players (not all) can be very self centered and don't/won't go around sharing OD, sometimes playing their own individual mini-game in the larger battle. How many times do we see CTF being played like TDM slugfest? So I believe it is superior in the fact that it will have a greater impact to all 'individual' players. I may be wrong, though you can imagine the lure of DD + Rate Of Fire OD will have on some players that like sniping over all else. The 'Why race all over the map to get the flag, I will just wipe the floor with everything that moves and someone else will' mentality. Again I may be wrong, we shall see.
-
So you mean you won't be also slaughtering 'non-noobs' due to that effect? Or that would imply that players who dies at your hands are noobs by default. My point was that I found it an incredibly disparaging and condescending comment, that's all.
-
Because of the destructive potential of the OD very high rate of fire + DD, as opposed to Dictator's only running on DD.

Oh, I get what you mean, I was commenting on him calling players with 50% protection noobs. That weird sentence only make sense if we assume that A: players with 50% protections are noobs, or B: everyone else except him are noobs. But I digress. Some Alteration/Drone/OD will become asinine to play against and the game is becoming pure chaos and extremely hard to predict. TO is turning from a relatively structured tank shooting game with fairly predictable weapons and hulls effects/tougness/speed into a confused FPS shooter with colorful special effects popping all over the place. Think about the Street Fighter VS Capcom combat games, it's so polluted with flashes, effects and explosions you can barely see what is happening. It's gettin to a point you have no clear idea what your fighting against with the Turret Alterations/Drone combos, varied OD will make this even worse. No wonder the devs can't get around to release that Viking OD, it just so formidably OP with some combos that I think the only solution will be to change (again) and/or remove some of the current Alterations/Drones, or accept it is OP with some combinations and go with it.

How is having a 50% protection a noob make? That combo would slaughter anything, not just noobs. Your comment doesn't make any sense.

I used to be a 'purist' and drugged very little, but since Generalissimo I'm swimming in mission provided supplies and gain more than I spend, given an intelligent use of the things instead of spamming any F key that can be hit. I even hoard OD sometimes to get an extra boost at the very right time, often to the frustration of teammates that would have it NOW. So, supplies, thing is, I found I A: Had the means, and B: How fun it is to capital letter type all along the match 'NERF SHAFT SHAFT OP!!!!' everytime you pop someone. Call me a troll if you will, I can live with it. :D

Indeed, though I am very mobile and will likely experiment with the Triple shot Alteration soon, and yeah, I DO go for flags when my team is helpless about it, and sometimes it even works! Then I guess the Hunter OD may get handy along with the Alteration. @FogOfWar_XXX I agree with you that OD seems to pop non-stop from everywhere now, that's annoying, but then Shaft protection is uncommon and how satisfying it is to pop a DD and one shot that incoming Viking Twins or Rico right after spending their OD? HA!

Buy a Drone with Crystals, pay Batteries with your credit card. That's how it works. You wanna share the same advantages as buyers do, then buy. This is the definition of Pay to Win, and TO need you to pay to make money. For myself, I'm a freeloader, with Hunter/Shaft combo and I do pretty well, no real problem scoring top 3 in that mission. Maybe you need a tougher hull and/or more/better protections. That being said, I fully expect to be shafted (pun intended) with the upcoming proposed new Hunter OD and will likely have to get a new Hull myself. I won't pay for it with money. o7

Players using that Alteration get more kills/shot, but output much less shots overall in the game. Also means you need to be more static and make you more vulnerable as the damage meter also needs more time to power up. Like it has been said earlier, a static Shaft is an easily dealt with Shaft. IMHO, this is not that good an Alteration, unless the other team is spamming heavy hulls.
-
True enough, though I sometimes let my laser show just for the scare factor and cut off paths. Apparent laser doesn't necessarily a noob make.
-
Thanks for the heads up on these alterations, I may get the triple shot eventually. o7

Thunder and Smoky have far better range and effects than the arcade shots. Also, they both have Alterations that doesn't suck. As it is now, Shaft is one of the turrets presently at the bottom of the barrel power wise.
-
I was giving one example, stop picking at words... I've seen Vulcans in heavy hull with isida support hold entire flanks or choke point by themselves literally filling the approaching lane with wrecks, which a low dps turret can't do. Maybe the devs will reduce the heat damage but the changes are going to stay, devs are well known not to roll back updates and so called 'balance' patches.
-
And yet, some turrets are totally useless at long range, Vulcan is no good at short, so? You're just complaining because one of your toy doesn't work as it used to, deal with it. And btw, you may spin all you like that Shaft arcade shot at short range is almost as good as Smoky - keyword is almost, Smoky, and all other close/mid range turrets violate Shaft at short range, there is no contest. Vulcan are very good on some maps, especially in Low Gravity mode, enough with the whining.
-
You only read what you want to read do you?
-
No dude, I'm saying that each have advantages and disadvantages, and function better or less on different maps acording to the turret's ability. Since the last nerf, Shaft is now almost useless at mid-long range in between charged shots. I used to finish off targets with arcade, now it sucks at it. Freeze is totally useless at long range. Vulcan is now better at long range and perform less at short. I am taking into account your ability to adapt to the new firing delay and learn to spin your barrels before use. Adapt and learn.
-
No, it takes more time to get a shot at full strenght, also having to stand exposed to enemy fire. It's not the point, most turrets are disavantaged on some maps, including Vulcan.
-
I am sorry but that argument isn't a valid point, it is true of many turrets. This from a Shaft player also having to deal with MM.
-
Smoky is a popular choice in the PRO Battle maps I play on.

New firebird does really show what afterburn is capable of!
Reddkuest replied to Strikechard123 in Archive
I noticed that a few Firebird players don't even bother to focus on me anymore, many seem to just drive by and shoot once on everything in their range then continue in their merry way. Then you see tank popping in their wake one after another soon after. -
My default is 3 of these 4: Rail, Thunder, Ricochet, Smoky when I enter a battle, but I will adapt depending of circumstancies. If there are dangerous Shaft/Magnums one shotters around I definitely equip those.

I never learned to use the mouse control, I do pretty well with the keyboard anyway. From what I read, mouse control gives you better overall perception of your environment when in scope mode, but also can have these lag issues you mentioned, trading a good for an evil. Your pick. I am usually very agressive and moving around with my Shaft/Hunter, so good control of my turret is necessary for me when I jump around to avoid flipping, not sure if it is manageable with mouse controls, as I said never tried. o7
