    Unbalanced CTF Matches

    I just verified that in a standard format match, there is no option to change the Auto Balance and Auto Finish. Perhaps that is an option on ProBattles. It has been a while since playing ProBattles, so I am not sure.

    I rarely create battles, but instead join battles that friends are playing in. I honestly didn't realize that auto balance could be turned off for battles. I would assume that this allows a player to join a team regardless of the team sizes. If the autobalance is on, there is still the issue I described above. It is a very common issue and is so easily addressed. Auto Finish does nothing since that by the time it actually kicks in the advantaged team has capped an overwhelming amount of flags. To make it worse the players on the small team that have been good sports are screwed out of game time and get no crys to show for it. Then, as I have seen with too much frequency, the Auto Finish will be aborted since players will "join" but never materialize due to lag, so the cycle continues. This is such an easy issue to fix. Why the lack of interest by the developers to address it?

    There are far too many occurances where in a CTF match the teams are unbalanced and the team with overwhelming numbers can cap at will. Why is this allowed to go on? Allowing one team to get routed simply because additonal players will not sign on to a losing match is not good game play, especially when it is so easily fixed. The early termination doesnt help in this case because the team with superior numbers runs up the score before it kicks in. What I would propose is for there to be a default in CTF that when the teams are unbalanced that flags cannot be captured and the match continues as a TDM until there is a balance. This would keep teams from running up the score when it is 8 vs 2 and subjecting players to a ridiculous waste of their time and supplies. There are several basic gameplay issues that Tanki has. Why is it that the developers appear to spend so little time trying to address them? If you creatively address competitive balance in the game it makes the experience better for everyone.
  4. The problem that I see is that in battles the OP references the battle gets out of hand quickly, so no one will join the losing side. The question that I have asked repeatedly, is why has Tanki not implemented a rebalance for the battle when it is so grossly uneven? It just cant be that hard to do!

    It depends on the hull you are using. I currently have M2 Rico and M2 Hornet. The combo used to be great, now it sucks since the balance. If you are going with Rico use a stronger hull such as Viking or Dictator. Otherwise use a stronger turret like Thunder if you are going with lighter hull. Something the developers wiffed on is that Rico does not have the power to shove Rails off target anymore due to the increase in hull weight. That is part of the reason my kit is useless anymore. At high ranks the only chance I have in battle is to drug, and even then I am often toast to rails and thunders.
  7. BTW, one other observation. I am not buying that Rico has a bump on impact force. When going against a railgun I shoot the opponent's side to knock them off target and 90% of the time I still get shot = destroyed. It doesn't make the game that much fun when you can get good with a kit you have invested in and the developers will just nerf it. Bad form Tanki.
  8. Love the guide. I hate the new balance. My M2 Rico with M2 Hornet is darn near useless now. I am a very offensive player and the balance has caused my rig to have no chance against bigger hulls. I either need to get a turret with more damage or a hull with more protection. The game gets particularly less fun when going against a dictator that pumps a health kit during my attack. I invested my crystals specifically into this setup and with one swift change TO make it totally suck. Thanks guys. I really appreciate it. (insert sarcasm)

    I really hate Hammer. It is fun to use, but is really overpowered. The biggest issue I have with the turret is that there have been too many times I have had teammates on CTF flip you purposely just to be jerks. One player flipped my M1 hornet when I have about to capture a flag. It ruins a match that you have spent supplies trying to win and you have 3-4 players ignore the game and start flipping each other, or worse, fiip you so that you have to give the flag up to them to turn in. Hammer sucks. Kinda ruining the game.
