Questions ~ 1. How can people be assured that this game, Tanki Online, will stay here for a long, long time and that they don't have to worry about this game closing, especially if Tanki X takes over with an overwhelming majority? 2. This game is quite old. Games this old tend to have almost no problems regarding game-play (lag, errors etc.). What action is being taken in this regard? 3. Will you, at some point in the near future, bring Godmode_ON back into the game? I'm sure the community will enjoy it. 4. What type of celebrations can we expect in the future? There have been funky Golds, xNumber of Golds/Battle Funds, but we really want something new this time. 5. Is there a new mode coming? The 'Gun Game' mode can be incorporated into the game. In Gun Game, every time you kill a tanker, your tank's weapon or hull changes randomly/in an order, and then you have to make a kill with that combination to advance to the next combo. 6. New maps, turrets, hulls, paints, things, modes? Can there be a parkour maps which is a mix of several different maps entitled only to parkour? Of course you will also be able to play normally in it. 7. Almost all privileges in the game go to buyers. Can you launch a certain thing that will benefit non-buyers only, or at least both? 8. Why Striker and Magnum kits are not being added into the Garage? 9. When are XTs getting merged with their counterparts? 10. Lastly, please leak us some information on three of the most secretly in-development updates for the game. Hope you answer these. Till then, thanks!

Review [Special] Tanki Online's 8th Birthday!
Hex replied to Hex in [Special] Tanki Online's 8th Birthday! Newspaper Archive
It's been nine years since the global release of Tanki Online. From crystals and Gold Boxes, turrets and hulls, trees and bushes, buildings and skyscrapers, dust and fog, beaches and cliffs, plasma and those 'o-scopes', it wont be wrong to say that Tanki Online is one of the most diverse MMOs the gaming world has ever seen. Now, after nine long, variable years, Tanki's celebrating its eight birthday, in style. In this article, I, along with a fellow named @Yisroel.Rabin will go deep down into the subject of Tanki Birthdays, and will deconstruct each thing on our way up. So without further ado... __________________________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________________________ - History of Tanki Birthdays - 2009 Instead of having a full-on celebration on it's first birthday, Tanki Online opened its doors to the masses by initiating a Open Beta. This happened on June 4th, 2009. @Anton Volkov, an administrator of Tanki Online, invited everyone to take part in the Open Beta, so they could all work together and fry as much bugs as possible ~ 2011 Celebrations for Tanki's second birthday kicked off with a great start. The weather in Tanki Online was sunny and warm, because the whole game was given a new look for two days. There were decorated billboards, new flags for CTF mode and most importantly, the Gold Box contained 200 crystals instead of the usual 100. There were also double supply rewards in daily bonuses. On top of all that, to create a festive vibe, a new paint appeared in everyone's garage: 2012 For Tanki's third birthday, the developer team kicked off the celebrations with a 25% discount on all items in the Garage, and following the procedure, battlegrounds were decorated with special billboards and specially designed CTF flags. A new paint was also available for equipping in the Garage: 2013 In 2013, Tanki Online become four years old. Following what the team did last year, a 25% discount on various items was introduced. There were special billboards, new flags and above all, a new paint: 2014 With the arrival on June 2014, Tanki turned five years old. The team definitely had planned something on this very special date, as the forum post turned in no less than three-hundred likes! There were 50% discounts, x5000 crystals Gold Boxes dropping at a quintuple rate, double battle funds and THE GAME quest, with a fully-micro'd dream tank reward. To top all of this off, a special Holiday paint was also available in the Garage: As Semyon himself wrote in the official post, it was definitely one of the most spectacular celebration in the history of Tanki Online. 2015 In 2015, Tanki celebrated its sixth birthday. There were 50% sales on everything, even crystals on mobile payments, credit cards, and PayPal. There were also double battle funds and Gold Boxes worth 6000 crystals. On top of that, the developer team had us partying with a full complement of holiday decorations including billboards, flags, parachutes, and a holiday paint: And last but not least, as usual, there was THE GAME - a contest where you have to fill in keywords for a chance to win a dream tank (and possibly some supplies and a physical gift, such as a mug or a t-shirt). 2016 For Tanki Online's seventh birthday, the team prepared a cool calendar of events packed with festive decorations, special in-game gifts, and of course, neat goodies and discounts. There were themed billboards and parachutes, a redesigned look for the Garage and a new paint: There were double Gold Boxes and supplies, and what's more is that whenever someone caught the Gold Box, every around him/her would get a small gift of 100 crystals. Owing to the introduction of gifts, there were three special gifts: Lastly, following the tradition, there was THE GAME. - The Celebrations - Themed Decorations Once again, every special holiday in Tanki Online comes with beautiful and charismatic decorations, delivered straight to the game's doorstep to make the whole celebration that much cooler, and to fill the game with the atmosphere of the celebration in particular. Right after the server restart on 4th of June, the game turned into a live birthday party, ready for excited tankers to enjoy! New flags were instated for both teams, parachutes got a fantastic makeover to fit the birthday themed mood, special billboards went up, displaying the special birthday design, and of course, the Gold Box drop zones were changed, replacing the ordinary golden crystal with a golden birthday cake! Of course, a redecoration is no success without a good change to the Gold Box, and so it was! The Gold Boxes were changed from the regular white box to a gift, wrapped in white wrapping paper with little number-eight cakes on it to fit the celebration, which was all tide in a golden ribbon. There was no increase in the Gold Box value, so it remained at 1000 crystals per gold box. But that was made up for by the fact that they fell twice as often as usual! Of course, we had a special holiday paint as usual, which was also available for purchase throughout the event for the price of 72 000 crystals if you included the 40% sale it had. It's name was Birdwatcher, and it's name fit it's look precisely; a greenish sort of camouflage paint. Birdwatcher paint Finally, there were special in-game gifts which tankers could send to their friends over the holiday, sharing their deepest feelings and wishes to one another (in other words, wasting crystals). For 840 crystals, your were able to send your friend a "Gift box with ribbon" gift. For 4200 crystals, you were able to send your friend a "Birthday cake slice" gift, which was sadly not actual cake (I learned that the hard way). And lastly, for 8400 crystals, you were able to send your friend a golden "Railgun Hornet keychain" gift. Discounts and Sales Now for what some would call the core of an event, the discounts and sales! For Tanki's 8th birthday, we had a whole week of sales on almost everything in the games! Friday, June 2nd: 50% off all Modules Saturday, June 3rd: 50% off all Hulls (only non XT) Sunday, June 4th: 50% off all Turrets (only non XT) Monday, June 5th: 50% off all Alterations Friday, June 2nd - Thursday, June 8th: 40% off all Garage paints, gifts, and supplies Gold Boxes To create a festive vibe like none other and to make sure people actually have fun throughout the celebrations, the developers granted us x2 Gold Boxes, which meant that Gold Boxes were now dropping two times as before. Pretty good to tame those hunting skills, aye? Special Offer There was something small, but fun planned this year for all tankers who logged in on Tanki's actual birthday, June 4th. They would receive 2922 crystals, one for each day since the game was released back in 2009, 8 of each supply, excluding Gold Boxes, for every year since its birth, and 1 day of Premium, just for the sake of it. Additionally, there were two special offers available for purchase in the Shop. One of them contained 50 000 crystals, one day of Premium Account, three Gold Boxes and fifty of each supplies, all for discounted price of $12.99. The second one on the other hard, contained a massive 100 000 crystals, five days of Premium Account, five Gold Boxes, a hundred and fifty of each supplies and the all-new Retina paint, which almost looks like the Harlequin paint. Retina paint Other Exclusive Features Last but not least, there were special missions given out to players throughout the entire celebrations. Some of them are shown below: Two examples of the many special missions Also, if you were wondering where this would be, there was - as usual - THE GAME, a contest where you have to look through a series of clues and find a keyword. - Players' Opinions - Now it is time to hear some feedback from several players! Question 1: Did you like the Tanki Online's 8th Birthday celebrations and if so, was it the best event in 2017 so far? Question 2: Was there anything that you did not like about the event and if so, how could it have been better? Question 3: What was your best moment in these celebrations? Share your experience! @Ninja Question 1: I certainly enjoyed the celebrations, though as I said in the last interview, nothing will beat the April Fools celebrations for me. I would say Tanki's birthday was the next best after that. It was nice to see 'Zero-Supply' back as 'Overdrive' too, and I especially liked the new effect. The sales - as expected - were the best of the year and I got the opportunity to upgrade my garage quite a lot which I'm pleased about. Question 2: The supply duration felt far too short especially during capturing a flag or when a Gold Box dropped. Seeing double battle funds during double Golds would have been cool as well. Apart from those points, nothing much else. Question 3: Probably my rank-up which happened with the 'Overdrive' effect making it feel extra special. Rank-up aside, buying fresh M3s and trying them out was awesome. @a7x_Pedro48 Question 1: Yes. It was a good event. Sales were very nice, even though I have all garage M3. But I bought a protection module from Shaft and Magnum, because I needed it. I also bought some supplies. I'm not broke on supplies, but 40% on supplies was a good deal. Decoration were really nice. As for Gold Boxes, it didn't feel like x2 Golds. I couldn't play a lot but I still managed to take 13 of them. The new Overdrive was better than the previous one (Zero Supply). Better because no cool-down on repair kit when you activate Overdrive, and the effect was awesome. Basically, the only thing I didn't like was the change in supplies with that cool-down when you join a new battle or when you respawn. Well, there is the Gold Boxes value too. One day with 8k Golds would have been nice. So yeah, I liked this celebration very much, but my favorite was New Year, if it counts for 2017, because it was very long and had a special map. April Fools was crazy too. So, I would put Tanki Birthday in number 3, and Iron Days in number 4. Question 2: I kinda already answered it in the previous question :D. The change in supplies was not needed. Lukey0 perfectly summarized my thoughts. Question 3: Basically catching Golds :D. It was fun because there was a lot of competition, and unlike other events, I've crossed zero hackers during this event. I also got lucky enough to get two "event" mission. @lukey0 Question 1: Tanki's 8th Birthday celebrations were very nice. I liked everything about it except the supply changes but I'll talk more about that next. The sales were awesome, better than I expected to be honest! I managed to spend nearly one million crystals among all my accounts and bought some nice new equipment to use. Gold Boxes like always are always a tick in the box but it didn't really feel like they were falling twice as often. Also themed decorations and a new holiday paint is always nice to have. It was probably the best event so far this year with Iron Day's being close behind it. It was just the supply changes... Question 2: Like I was saying above, the supply changes is what disappointed me. If they left them alone, the event would have been perfect. I feel the duration should stay at 40 seconds because 30 seconds is too short of a time frame, especially if you are a Titan with the flag, your supplies finish before you reach your base. Also the cool-downs after death are pretty bad, making it harder for normal players to catch Golds and easier for those that wait for them. Not to mention spawn killing... There should also be cool-downs after the activation of ZERO Supply, it is so annoying when a Mammoth or Titan uses two medics within 20 seconds of each other and then puts on a DA once his supplies finish. I believe this would balance supplies for having a 40 second duration and fix the medic problem. Question 3: My best experience? Well, umm, catching a Gold Box would be a bit obvious; probably buying heaps of new alterations and well, just new items in general. It brought back some of those feelings and memories from after the Re-balance, I have no idea why. Just having a lot of crystals and not really caring what you spend them on . That was probably my best experience during the event. __________________________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________________________ So there it is, a complete review of the Tanki B-day '17 celebrations held recently in the game. I didn't see it while it was there, so I would've no proof of giving this person some crystals.
