Episode 156 of the V-LOG is live!

How was it determined he was the winner? Because he one-shotted nearly all his friends with DD loaded? He didn't show off any ricochet shots, which is what the weapon was designed to do. That would have been impressive, too. That didn't look like a battle to me. It looked more like a setup with his friends. Who did the editing? Him or TO?

Personally, I was not impressed with the winner of the Ricochet skills. What skills did he show? He was using DD and DA. I can one shot some tanks if I drug. So, what's so special about that? It didn't look like a real battle to me. He was running around one shotting most everyone and the only ones that fired upon him were 2 Firebirds. I'd like to see him do that in a real battle without using drugs, then I might be impressed. It looked too much like a set up, to me. Where were the Magnums? Where were the Twins shooting at the side of his tank to knock off his aim? There were several cuts. Why? Did he edit out his misses? Nope, not impressed.

Why I don't play Tanki like I used to

You're the kind of Magnum user I have respect for and will probably try to ambush you from behind. From the front, you can shove a rocket right up my turret, you have that experience. Some camping Magnums will lower their cannon, but most won't and only results in splash damage.

Why I don't play Tanki like I used to

Magnums have been mentioned a few times, here, so I'll put my 2 cents worth in. Most magnum players I've run into think that because they can hide behind a wall or lob a rocket clear across a map, they are invincible and don't put much stock into their hull. If the other team has an annoying magnum, that magnum is on my radar and covered with bullseye targets. All my hulls will survive at least one splash damage at 100% health. Not much health left, admittedly, but it will survive. As I get close to enemy base, I'll use a RK and just before entering the enemy base I'll load a DA, then go after that son-of-a-gun. I don't care what my turret/hull combo is. They may get a shot off on me, but when they see me survive and keep coming, they run like scared little babies because they know they are about to die, either by my turret or by self-destruction (which usually kills me, too). Either way, I feel my "mission" has been accomplished, at least for a little while. But it doesn't end there. I'll wait a little while, let him become complacent and go after him again.

    Bugs and Glitches Reports [Closed]

In Assault mode, I have to run over the flag 3 to 4 times before it resets. I don't have this problem in CTF. Ok, never mind. I guess it resets itself. I had forgotten how to play, but I'm getting the hang of it again.

Why I don't play Tanki like I used to

On a rate of 1-10, 10 being the worse, I'd rate this game 8. Too many battles where teams don't care if they win or lose. This seems to be the mindset of a lot of players: 1...Enemy grabs our flag? Oh well, so be it. 2...Go after the one who stole it? Nope, let someone else do that. I'll stay here and guard this empty flag standard...Just in case someone tries to steal that, too. 3...What are flags doing in a TDM? 4...OH, look at the pretty flag that tank is carrying. And it's blue...the same color as my health bar. I wonder where that tank is going with it. Oh, never mind, it came back. 5...Why is my teammate trying to kill me? There's no friendly fire in a standard battle and this isn't DM, it's TDM. To often, it seems players have no idea what is going on...what the battle mode is, what the objective is, or what a team is. They act like individuals playing on a red or blue team. I've seen flag bearers on both sides killed. Does the losing team try to capture the flag? No. Do they try to reset ours? No. Too many mults. I can understand one or two teammates sitting there (I figure they must be in the garage). But half the team in the garage at the same time? I hardly think so. I've seen players battle hard in the first half of the game and then (winning or losing) they quit playing in the second half, but they don't leave. If we are winning, we lose. If we are losing, we still lose. I just don't get it. Battles used to be fun, scores close. Everyone played their best. There was team effort. Everyone was on the same page. Those battles are far and few between, anymore. Players refusing to leave base, is not a fun battle. Blow outs are not fun battles. Players playing parkour during a standard battle is not fun. One team sharing overdrive and the other team hanging on to theirs, is not a fun battle. What happened to the fun? Why does it seem too much like a chore? What happened to "team players?"

    What would you change?

Your ignorance is showing. Strength has nothing to do with it. It's the needs of your body to heal and rejuvenate. Your body has an internal "battery" of sorts. If you run a battery operated device without letting it recharge, it will run down and quit. Your body will do the same by sending you into slumber land whether you want to or not. Many innocent people have been killed in traffic crashes because someone didn't think sleep was all that important and fell asleep behind the wheel. If you can tear yourself away from Tanki for a few minutes, try educating yourself on "sleep deprivation." It's nothing to laugh or joke about. It's a very serious matter.

    What would you change?

Until you start feeling the effects of sleep deprivation, then you'll wish you had gone to sleep.

    Mines should have splash damage

Nope, not yet, but is in the workings. We have plasma torches for cutting steel and concrete, but not powerful enough to use as a weapon.

    Mines should have splash damage

I think there should be a module for Magnum to shoot cluster bombs. There are several mines in a "neat little package." When the "package" reaches a certain (preset) height, the mines disperse over a wide area and set themselves when they impact the ground. Boy!! You talk about a game changer..... :) By the way, I hate Magnums.
  13. McAfee and Norton are the top two. So what's wrong with Norton? I've used Norton and AdBlockPlus for years and have had no problems. I spend a lot of time surfing the web. Norton has kept my computer safe.
  14. "why am I still playing this" I'm wondering that myself.

Why I don't play Tanki like I used to

At one point, it was a 10...THE go-to game. Then some updates came along that seemed to be geared more towards buyers. My interest in the game started dwindling. We were told that everything was going up in price. A "0" was added to everything. Players were complaining. We were told that the economy hadn't changed a bit. The blue crystal boxes would now contain 100 crystals instead of 10. What they didn't tell us was that the crystal boxes fell less frequently, making them harder to acquire. When one was seen falling, the game almost came to a stop while players tried to grab that one box. It was almost a precious as the Gold Box is now (to some players). The economy had changed. It was about that time, I think, buyers started becoming more frequent. Then the crystal boxes disappeared and the Gold Box was introduced. The next update that was a game changer for me was the separation of the modules and paint. We were told it was for the betterment of the game and the players. To buy the paint and the module would still cost the same. Some players were paint collectors and didn't care that much for the protection it gave. Others choose a protection but didn't like the paint that came with it. Now you can buy the module and the paint is worthless. After the introduction of OD, my interest has dwindled even more. It was introduced to give non-buyers an even chance with buyers. But OD doesn't last as long as personal supplies. Many players who depend upon supplies to win, use OD to supplement to their own supplies. They use OD while waiting for their personal supplies to recharge. That's why some players won't share their OD. The only good thing about OD is the ability to heal other players. One of my other accounts is an Asida. Because of the use of alternating between OD and supplies, I don't heal as much, which reduces my XP earned per battle. I'm topping off health bars instead of actually healing. My interest in the game is now down to 2-3 and is quickly going down to 1-2. Instead of playing for hours, I now play 1 or 2 battles and call it quits. On occasion, I may play for an hour, if there isn't anything better to do. I spend more time in the forums than I do in battle. That's getting pretty bad when the forums are more interesting that the game. OK. I'm done ranting.

What to buy? Which is better?

I was just in a battle against mostly Mammoths. I'd like to go with Smoky, but my damage was only 180 - 250 without DD, but the stats say I should be getting 292 - 454. With DD I saw the 300 - 400 range and on rare occasions low 500's. I didn't try to use Twins because with the crowded area (Noise blue) my shots would have been wasted on my teammates. After shooting a Mammoth 7 times at close range, he just turned his turret, sneezed at me and went about his business. He didn't have protection against Smoky. I'll have to take Twins into a good battle and pay more attention to my damage.
  17. Imok-Urok

What to buy? Which is better?

In higher ranks, is Twins or Smoky more effective? Which of the two are more protected against? I have some MU's on both, but need to concentrate more on one than the other, at the moment. Both are M1's.

What does your nickname REALLY mean?

My Nick can be pronounced several different ways, depending on how you look at it. But when you break it down, it says "i am ok-you are ok" or "I'm ok-You're ok." I found it in a book I once read about fantasy and mythical creatures. Imok Urok was a fantasy Wizard.

    Competitive Games vs. Blowout Games

When I voted, I took into consideration the battles I've been in and the battle list. If I'm in a blowout, I leave. Even using drug doesn't change the outcome. Getting less than 100 crystals won't even begin to cover the drugs used. Logistically, it makes no sense to stay in a blowout battle. Looking at the battle lists from the lobby, the difference between the winning team and the losing team scores has too much of a gap. I've been playing tanki for several years. There used to be a lot of close games that were worth seeing to the bitter end. Usually, the winning team became apparent in the last few seconds of the game. Those battles were fun and got your adrenalin up. In the past year or so, I venture to say I've been in about 4 very close battles. The fun isn't there any more and the adrenalin is non-existent. I used to play every day and on into the evening for hours at a time. Tanki was the go-to game, but not any more. For the past couple years, I've played less and less. Now, my actual play time is about an hour to an hour and a half when I login and it's no longer on a daily basis. I spend more time in the forums than I do in battle. The blowouts make the battles boring, ridiculous and frustrating. I have found other games that suit my interests. Those are the games that get a piece of my paycheck. Tanki hasn't earned a place in my wallet.

    Battle strategies?

Just before going into enemy territory, I take out a can of spray paint and paint my team identifiers the same color as the enemy so I can blend in. I pretend to defend the flag and when no one is looking, I grab it and run. I'm not very good at grabbing flags. I see players waltz in, grab the flag and waltz out. I waltz in, grab the flag, but I don't waltz out. But if I'm in enemy territory and I see a golden opportunity, I'll load SB and run like the Devil is after me. Because of my inadequacies in grabbing the flag, I'll give support, instead. If I see a couple team mates going in for the flag, I'll join them, try to keep the enemy busy while someone grabs the flag and makes his escape. If it's more practical, I'll run interference by blocking a pursuing tank with my own tank. (The big sacrifice for the team). Anything to give the flag bearer a few extra seconds to clear enemy territory. In CP, if the enemy is heavy on the CPs, I'll at least try to do a little bit of damage to the whole group instead of trying to kill one while the others are at full health. By damaging the group maybe I can get their health down enough to make them easy kills for my team mates so they can change the CP color. But if I see the enemy's CP is clear, I'll go ahead and start changing the color.

What are lag cheaters? Are they the tanks that move forward until you start shooting them, then they jump back to where they came from and then jump forward again?

What was going on in this battle?

i can take screenshots, but I don't have the right program to upload it to TO. Guess I'll have to download the link. Anyway, I was just curious. Seemed strange that both teams were huddled together on opposite sides of the map. It was like two rival gangs meeting, but afraid to show their faces for fear a gang war would break out. mentioned a clan discussion. But none of them had clan initials beside their names. Oh well, just curious. Unless someone else has anything else to offer, this thread can be closed at anytime.
