What was going on in this battle?
Imok-Urok replied to Imok-Urok in What was going on in this battle? Archive
Forest CTF. I was on red team. I joined at the beginning of the battle, 3v3, score 0-0 Language: Russian Both teams are on the hill, but on opposite sides, not in close proximity to each other. All 3 Blue team members started chatting in battle chat with long lines (3-5) of words. Red answered back with just as much long lines of chat. I have no idea what is going on and no one is fighting or trying for the flag. I start grabbing flags and blue team is not trying to stop me. Meanwhile, the chatting is continuing between the two teams. Later, one more blue and one more red joined and they didn't participate in the battle either. After I made 6 flags without any competition, I decided to get in a couple kills. Blue team loaded DD and I was killed instantly before I could get a shot off. I made another flag to make it 7. Then a couple blue team members blew me away with DD and made 2 flags while red team remained on the hill without any counter attack. I went ahead and made the rest of the flags without competition. Does anyone have any idea what might have been going on? None of the players on either team had clan logos. Were they friends meeting on a map for general chat? If so, then why were they hiding? Because no one came out in the open, I had a feeling this was not a friendly meet. Any ideas? -
Yep, on posts #1, #11, #29, #34, #50, #51.

Personally, I think this thread goes a little too deep into Theology, Psychology, and too controversial. Sounds to me like you are wanting to discuss abortion, whatever the cause. You're about to get the "Right to Life" group agitated, whether or not that was your intention. Rethink your thread.

Should Finish #1 missions be changed to Finish in top 2?
Imok-Urok replied to I-Hate-Druggers in Archive
I just keep joining losing teams or shorthanded teams until I get 1st place. For those who are druggers and don't mind spending the supplies and crystals, even though it's logistic suicide, then drug like heck, use OD and drug inbetween. Once your mission is complete, then you can go back to normal play. OR just change it. Complete the other two missions and collect, then use you one free change. If 1st in battle is the only mission that bothers you, then it doesn't matter what the alternative mission is. -
No, I don't have a screenshot. The entries were deleted. Thank you. Now maybe we can get back on topic.

@Mad!! @Musa!! Stop acting like little children arguing, throwing insults back and forth. How about acting like the adults you're suppose to be? Stop trolling this OP's thread and get back on topic. If you want to continue to argue, please do it in PM. We don't need, nor want to hear it. IMHO, I think you owe @Magenta an apology. And @Magenta...get out of the middle of it. Thank you, very much.

I've been playing since Tanki came out of beta in 2009. You think you've seen some changes? Some are good, others not so good, but after awhile, you just learn to accept and play on. If you don't want to try to accept them, then you know where the door is. No MMO stays stagnant, they all have updates. Two MMOs I left because both had major updates overnight that completely changed the dynamics of the game. When the players logged in the next day, no one knew how to play, any more, it was like starting all over again. Sure, we were told there would be some changes, but we had no idea they were going to be that drastic. Many players who were faithful to the games for many years, left and the game and stats went down. But, after time, they went up again as new players joined. What i'm getting at is this: Tanki is doing their changes gradually to give the players time to adjust. In the past 5 years, all the changes you have seen, would it have been better if they were done all at one time....like overnight? You'll find another MMO to play, I'm sure. When they start making changes and updates, players, like you, will rage quit and surf the web for another. Maybe at some point, you will find one that is so stagnant, it stinks. Will you be happy then? Good luck on your quest for one that never changes.

I checked these on "New Player" creation page as seen here: Dragonaut Fantabulous Komodo_Dragon Later_Gator Nivia Nivia_Inertia Quantum-Leap Refuse_Mgmt Robo.ProtoTypes TO-MotorPool A few of these sound like good Clan names.

Aha!! A challenge for the statistic experts of Tanki: Figure out the formula for the efficiency rating. Any takers, Tankers?

Mac and Cheese with bacon bits Gotta have me Veggies My favorite breakfast (lunch or dinner): ----> 3 microwave packets of plain grits ----> 3 packets of water (packets the grits came in) ----> 2 or 3 eggs beaten ----> 1 teaspoon bacon bits ----> 1/8 cup shredded yellow, white, Jack or any type of Cheddar cheese (combos are nice) ----> 1 or 2 pinches of coarsely ground black pepper Put all above ingredients in a very large bowl, mix and microwave 2 minutes. Take bowl out and mix. Put in microwave for another 2 minutes and mix. Keep doing that until eggs and grits are done and in a consistency of a nice souffle. That's some gooood eatin'. My own concoction.

I've been entering battles, okay, without any problems. 1...I left a battle because over half of our team left and we were being over run. 2...I clicked to enter another battle, it started to load, but it stopped loading and I was sent back to the lobby. Someone else got my spot. 3...I clicked on another battle and same thing happened. 4...I cleared my browser and reloaded the tab. 5...Clicked on another battle, but the loading screen was there for only a very split second and back to the lobby. 6...Restarted my computer, logged in and tried to enter another battle. Same thing happened. I can't get a screenshot because the battle loading screen isn't there long enough to get a shot.

According to "Online Slang Dictionary" Adj. Clever; cunning; wise-acre; quick witted and tricky. I researched it by putting in my browser: crackin' foxy definition

Do you think you were instrumental in changing the tide of a battle?
Imok-Urok replied to Imok-Urok in Do you think you were instrumental in changing the tide of a battle? Archive
Let me be more specific. Did you join a battle on a losing team, did something that change the tide (course) of the battle to bring your team to a win? I believe I did, twice. 1st time: Map-Barda. I joined red team at the beginning of the battle. Our team looked dazed. Some were just sitting there, others milling around, not really participating, the rest making somewhat of an effort. I said out loud, "Come on team, get off your thumbs!!" (As if they could really hear me). Blue made 3 flags right away. I managed to sneak into blue territory, stole the flag and made the capture. That seemed to wake up a few. I went back and grabbed it again. This time, I crossed over a bridge with it. Not the best course of action, I know, but I wanted my team to see the flag. I was killed (I expected that). One of my team mates grabbed the flag and captured it. That woke up the rest of the team. We won 8-5. 2nd time: Map-Noise. I joined blue team shortly after the battle started. Score 0-0. Blue team wasn't doing much, just kinda sitting there, waiting. Red came down, took out nearly the whole team and captured our flag. Then red came down again, using the same tactic. Made another capture. Blue seemed to be defending something they didn't have...points. I went up into red territory by myself and died right away. I went up 3 more times using a little more stealth. All 3 times, I grabbed the flag, all 3 times I died just as I was making the leap of faith. I said in team chat (this was before the servers merged), "I went up there by myself 4 times and grabbed the flag 3 times." "If I had some help, we could have made 3 flags." "I'm going to keep trying." One of my team mates said, "Good luck." I went up again, this time 2 other players followed. We fought our way up to the flag area. One grabbed the flag, the other player and I stayed behind keeping red team busy. He made the leap of faith for our first flag. After that, our team went on the offensive and red defensive. We used practically the same tactic as they did on us. Game tied 3-3. The end of the battle was near. During the 30 second countdown, we made a flag with just a couple seconds to spare. End score 4-3. Blue won. Do you have a story to tell about when you feel you were the catalyst or instrumental in turning the battle around for the win? Or even helped tie a tough one? -
It was that level of thinking that got us here in the first place. "Why should I care, I won't be around to suffer the consequences, anyway. I'll do the damage now and let someone else clean up after I'm gone." And who might that be? Your children? Your Grandchildren? Your Great-Grandchildren? Yes, you will be gone, but they will have to clean up your mess. What we do now is what is left for future generations.

UTC has taken the place of GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), but they are both the same. So, if you know your GMT, then you know your UTC.

Losing on a winning team. I joined a CTF battle already in progress on the winning team. When I got in, score was 5-0. The winning team had gone into TDM mode and never came out of it. Final score: 10-5. We lost, never got another flag.

I think they go to the other garages and get up poker games using their owner's crystals. Sometimes I swear my crystals disappear at an alarming rate. I've talked to my tanks about it. They just stand there moving their turrets back and forth. None of them are talking...not even a grumble or a backfire. I think I'm going to buy a spy camera and set it up in the garage. Think they would notice?

I'm not a shaft user. All I know about it is what I've read in the Wiki and on this I&S topic. Shaft is too easy a target for Firebird and Freeze. I know from experience, by the time the Shaft user is aware he is being attacked is when he dies. I've killed many of them and look for them as an easy kill. Having said that, if this were put up for Community vote, I certainly would give it a "thumbs up." Sounds like a good idea to me. Edit: Sorry for this post. It's on the wrong topic. I tried to delete it, but it wouldn't delete. Tried everything I could think of, but it refuses to go away.

Thanks, stanzhang for posting the map. I filed it away on my computer. I think the map should be prominently pinned someplace in the forums. If it already is, this is the first I've seen it.

Thank you. Mine is UTC -5.

I read a theory, long time ago, before global warming became a big issue. This theory stated that we are the original Martians. Humans abused the ecosystem, a catastrophe happened (didn't mention what that was) that caused an apocalypse that destroyed the rest of the planet. Beings from other planets tried to educate us, but we didn't listen. To help the Human Race survive, they gathered a few good Human specimens and transported them to Earth for a fresh start, all the way back to square one, with nothing from the "old" life to help them. Though nothing was actually said in the article, the assumption, here, is that they were somehow given amnesia so they couldn't rely on the "old" ways and make the same mistakes. It went on to say that Adam and Eve were 2 of those survivors and focused in on them. What happened to the others? Apparently, they didn't survive for very long. Inability to adapt? Sickness/Disease from the Apocalypse? "Unfortunate" accidents? The Other Beings have been trying to guide us through each phase of evolution without being a direct part of it. They wanted us to learn by our own mistakes. The Other Beings are just there for guidance, to make sure we didn't destroy another planet. That's pretty much where the story ends. If there is even an inkling of truth here, then why is it happening again? Where are the Other Beings that are suppose to be guiding us? If we are to believe any reports of Alien sightings, then they are still around. Or are they? I'm not saying I believe any of this, nor am I saying I disbelieve it. I'm just giving "food for thought."

Late night, early morning Tanki
Imok-Urok replied to Imok-Urok in Late night, early morning Tanki Archive
I'm an insomniac and sleep whenever I can. I'm usually up very late at night and very early hours of the morning. When I can't sleep, I'll come on Tanki for awhile. Game play is very different than day time Tanki. I don't know the Nationality of the players because there is never any chat...team nor battle. Most of the servers are being utilized, except for the servers very low at the bottom, but there's only maybe 4-6 battles on each server. It's very difficult to find a battle that doesn't involve Generals, Generalissimos, and Legends. Regardless of the battle, the game play is all the same, described below: 1...No chat 2...Each battle, regardless of the mode, seems to be TDM-XP. 3...Neither team seems to be too interested in the objective. ...................CTF: Teams don't start out trying for the flag, but eventually one team will capture one or two flags. If the flag is stolen, someone might shoot at the flag bearer. If the bearer dies, someone will put the flag back. If the bearer doesn't die, no one goes after him in an attempt to save it. ....................CP: No one seems to go out of their way to make CP points. If a player happens by a captured CP, that player may or may not stop to change it. But certainly, no one goes out of their way to change it. I've seen the entire map one color and stays that color all battle long. ....................TDM: No one plays "peek-a-boo" around corners, walls, buildings, etc. regardless of turret. Everyone just sits out in the open, shoots at each other, dies, and does it all over again. ....................DM: Same as TDM. DM isn't very common. 4...Focus doesn't seem to be on the battle fund. That's why I think they are all XP battles. 5....Players on the losing team don't quit. They all stay until the bitter end, stay on the same teams and do it all over again. 6...All ranks from Legend on down to the end of the ranking spectrum play side by side. There's no shoving (unless you show up in a light or medium tank), pushing (unless you're in a light or medium tank), blocking shots, sabotage of any kind (unless you play peek-a-boo, then you are pushed out in the open). Doesn't seem to be any hacks, either. 7...Both sides drug as much as possible. No one runs around with a white star over their heads. As soon as one is made, they share among the rest of the team, particularly with those who don't have any supplies activated. 8...Isidas are rare. If one does show up, they don't stay long. No one seems interested in being healed. Besides, for an Isida trying to heal all those heavy tanks that don't take cover, is an endless, thankless job. Isidas are main targets for the opposing team and the team it's on won't try to protect it. ======================================================================= Yes, it's an altogether type of game play. So, if you are more interested in XP and not so much for crystals, then that's the time to play. But don't expect any help in stealing a flag or capturing points in CP. There, you're on your own. Edit: My time zone is UTC -5 -
Valid Lower healing rate when Isida heals another Isida
Imok-Urok replied to BlackWasp777 in Ideas and Suggestions
I have Isida on one of my higher accounts. Yes, they can be overpowering. Isidas get attacked by Isida trains, too and there isn't much you can do about it, except attacking each Isida, starting with the one in back. I would have no problem seeing some type of nerfing Isida trains. However, I can also see a downside of this nerf. That would mean that an Isida healing another Isida and neither in a train, would be seriously affected. After healing an Isida that has just come back from escorting a flag bearer wouldn't be able to heal other team mates until a complete reload. I feel it would be like saying, "Okay, Medic, you just healed another Medic, so you can't heal anyone else until you atone for your sin." I think any nerfs would have to involve only the trains. Also, if two Isidas heal each other, both would be put to a disadvantage. I think Isidas would think twice about healing another Isida.
