Patch Update #439 - Balance Changes, New Alterations and Bug Fixes
BlackWasp777 replied to theFiringHand in News Archive
self damage is a true trouble for slow moving Twinners on heavy hulls, so twins it's more balanced now, and you will truely have to think more about the moment, when to dive into the cp point. Besides 4meters damage radius is very small.. it's not like a Striker on adrenaline ;) Fire and freezw will be troublesome now (as you kill yourself while harming them). -
Patch Update #439 - Balance Changes, New Alterations and Bug Fixes
BlackWasp777 replied to theFiringHand in News Archive
It truely hurt that wasp's agility (turning acceleration) and speed was cut down. The agility of the former Wasp M3 and M2(!!) was sooo much fun before the balance, and today it's "just a lame lighthull". The decreased turning acceleration made fast left-to-right turns and hard cornering a joke (no offense).. but that's what a Wasp lived on (it wasn't so much the speed, but more the agility). I do like that the M4 stats regarding controls are closer to M3 now (less time to adapt from MultiFormat to XP/BP and vice versa) but the rest of the changes concernig handling are true fun-killers. It's not like wasp was OP in normal battles. Agillity was the only chance to survive betweens those tonns of medium hulls. And Wasps it was pretty good balanced to the way more stable and accelerating Hornests. If wasp was felt to be overpowered it was often due to better pilots.. and less likely due to its parameters. And if Hornet needed a buff I would propose to incr. Hornets speed up to the speed of Wasp, so that both do the same m/s... but still hornet would accelerate better fdw/backwd + be stable vs shots + drift; while Wasp would get back it's great turning acceleration and responsive handling, payed by less stability and bad brakes. -

he has a great computer -
This is truely great!!! Tanki could make two types of clans that exist in parallel and can play vs each other too sponsored clans (todays feature, leader pays a lot, members pay nothing) non-sponsored clans (see below) Ho do non-sponsored clans work? with a non-spnsoured-clan team of 12 players Tanki earns: 5 USD....by 1x [non sponsored clans - Leader license], one time fee 20,90 USD....by 11x [non sponsoured clan - member license], each year sponsoured clans will have easier access for the members; while the other clans have easier startup conditions for the leader.

I just checked the income figures for your country... For Pakistanis this clan licenses are truely ridiculously expensive. If a Pakistani pays the 3800 pkr for a clans license, it is like an US citizen would have to pay 1.400 USD for a clans license -.- Maybe Cedrik will read your complaint and forward it to the marketing department
-
well it cost about 1Mio crystals to purchase an M3 hunter and to upgrade it to M4. But many players new to M3 ranks will tend to get Hunters. Still it makes no sense to make one hull more usefull then the other -.-
-
I think it's maybe like this: If you want XT, buy it. If you fake it, then you have no need to buy it. This is against the commercial interrest of the game.
-
sounds like the manoveur that players use to do, in order to jump at the ramp-edges in sandbox. Cool, thanks :)
-
yes, sure. Tanki has no problem if players overdo it with supply-vs-supply battles. They earn money by selling supply kits. therefore they do it.
-
Please don't get me wrong: It was strong. But while I die (it takes a while to kill an M3+ Titan) I can deal damage and block shots and do stuff. A normal freeze with freeze effect renders me useless while I die
-
The reason why the battle funds are so tipped over towards the winners, is that to force players to use more supplies.
-
yes, because the XT version has wings on it's side irony off ;) Even with deactivated microupgrades? pls describe what you mean by "not straight on".. if you need a special manoveur to make the jump, then pls describe it :) :)
-
yes ;) and to be more correct: Tanki Online players ;) ..but still it took them longer then a 10 minute session to run the same source code with different compiler settings. You can not rate that like a "copy of a video" (copy paste). It is more like a copy of [all of the furtniture in a house] : you know what you need (tables, chairs, shelfes, ...) and you can make use of your knowledge (hoe long which table, how deep which shelf). But still you have to craft each single piece again. Then add the new features, new grafics (artists tend to eat too) and so on.
-
I don't wanna defend someone, I just replied to an argumentation of others. And I'm very unhappy with the lag situation by myself. If you wanna talk about features: guess who pays the whole tanki X development at the moment ps: I don't know if the players here would be happy, if we could buy a full M4 combo for 40 USD. Because this would mean masses and more masses of M4s everywhere.. and free players could sign up for the scrap yard already..

If you buy an apple at the supermarket, then the price that you pay includes a small part of the loans of the people working there, of the heating costs in the winter and the climatisation costs in the summer, the cleaning staff und tools, security, calculation department, area rental, building costs, maintenance of the cassa system, - and so on. Now imagine a supermarket where people can get 90% of the goods for free, pay nothing.. and all this is financed by the remaining 10% of goods they sell (lets sa by sweets, salty snacks and fast food). Of course those 10% of goods will be more expensive then today.. but pls don't forget what you get for free. And many people will not "buy" they will just harvest the free goods and pretend to be "skillers and not buyers". In Tanki they give you a lot for free (a whole game), but there are real people working there to create, maintain and develop the game. They have to pay for real hardware to run it, need development hardware, heating and all that stuff... and so many player pay for free. So if they sell you crystals, premium accounts - or clan licenses, these payments have to sum up to keep all the girls and guys there fed and warm through out all the year. People in different coutries have different purchasing power. In simple terms it works like this: a clan license costs about 0,8% of an average US monthly wage in USD a clan license costs about 0,8% of an average Russian monthly wage, meassured in USD For both players it's "equally hard" to earn that amount of money, and they get the same for it: one clan license. google for the [bigmac index] if you like an other aproach to meassure that.

Patch Update #437 - Player Ratings plus additional fixes

I used the standalone Flash player, and it remmebered it correctly. Now I tried the client and it worked too. -
If I assume that 60..70% of a clans players show up to trainings (others have urgent exams, parents that call em out that day, obligations, .. whatever), then you need at least 20 members in a clan to play 6vs6 trainings on a regular base, in order to be an active clan and to make your players happy. So I think you will be right on your assumption, that the members will be called in and booted as needed.. not for the training, but for the irregular "clan vs clan" battles in the eavening (see who is online, get them in the team, find a clan battle). -- Tanki talked about the option to add more players - and the chances that this can only be done by means of a secondary (premium) currency in the game. Maybe like the gold in WorldOfTanks or the Gems in Clash-Of-whatever. I assume you get it rarely for free (by playing a lot of clan battles) or of course you can use the shortcut of buying yourself into it. At least, it is just a matter of convinience for the leader. edit: but it renders the clan chat irrelevant, if you can not reach all your mates (and mate-inas :P) I would be pretty anoyed if I have to arrange the team 2x each eavening -.- But of course there are multiple kinds of ways to motivate someone to pay money: make them so happy that they are gratefull, or anoy them so hard that they pay for the relieve. I wonder what they go for.

Thanks for the very friendly answer :) I was already caught by someone for the irony in my post, but his post was removed already

Patch Update #436 - Clan system and other changes

You need to have the possibility to battle clan-members -vs- same-clan-members. How would you like to run a training elsewise? -

mine remmebers the settings if I change the server. maybe you disallowed tanki to store local data in the Adobe Flash Player? -
Maybe Tank could createa a feature to change the flag later on. So you can start as some other country (Greece is close by..< warning, ironic content ;) ) and swap the flag later on :)

I play without a working 'c' key since 1.5 years now, you get used to it pretty fast -
Don't be too harsh ;) It's a new player that has a "new player's view" on the game.
-
You can not ask members to pitch in, as there is a constant fluctuation in members for almost all clans. Realistically you can not even pa it together with your best 3 tanki friends, as friendships in the usual tanki's players age also fail from time to time. That like if two 13 yo's are in "love" and promise to stay together forever :P I would strongly dis-advice all players from _sharing_ money into the clan without beeing the leader.

so "practically" you have no favorite hull :p
