I do think this will be bad for Tanki revenue for the reasons KariWolves mentioned. It makes sense that this will decrease of the Shop nickname changes, and players (Players who would rather use the garage but now are forced to use the Shop) will rather use the garage one.

Yes it's now an option with matchmaking groups. There isn't a rank limit for these groups, so you can encounter recruits too.
