I have talked about it 2 weeks ago, but noboy listened to me. Now everybody is crying...

OMG, are you lunatics? Forget about all the kits, they became too expensive. edit: Old kits had turret + hull + protection. New kits have turret + hull + shiny_but_useless_paint. If you want to compare them, you must add protection module to the new kit - you are comparing totally different stuff otherwise. Yes, you can buy turret + hull for less than earlier turret + hull + protection, but... you had that protection. And the protection was important in M2 and M3 kits.
-
Some kits are cheaper? Read this! They are not.
-
Hahaha, I am curious of what will they say in the V-LOG tomorrow. "We have released the long-awaited protection-modules update, which was welcomed with love by players."? :D
-
lukey, if you read the post I linked above, you would see that all kits are in fact more expensive now. Edit: I just noticed, that in some cases it is cheaper to buy turret + hull separately than buy a kit which has the same turret and hull + additionally just_fancy_looking_but_totally_useless paint, which... nobody wants now.
-
Oh, I have done it of course. Yele confirmed, that moderators' convenience is more important than players' safety and punishing game rules violators.
-
The problem is not in paint prices itself. The problem is in kits, which now contain a useless paint instead of usefull protection module.
-
So, the new update ruined the kit system. Please read my post in the update topic.
-
Here we have the update: - protections are separated from paints. - protection modules have models 0-3 as well as MUs - I don't know how many MU steps are there, because I haven't bought any of the new protection modules. - protection modules cost approximately the same amount of crystals as the old paints. - paints' prices vary much, e.g. Emerald paint costs 370k crystals now (it used to cost 143k crystals), but Clay costs 10k crystals, while it used to cost 250k crystals. And my favourite: Zeus paint. it used to cost 250k crystals, now it costs 500k crystals - more than the old kits which had this paint (Prometheus - 443k, Stormbringer - 422k). However, new paints are just decorations now, while the old ones provided certain protections. All this stuff would be fine if... it did not ruin the kit system. We have the same kit system as earlier, with turret + hull + paint, but we do not get aby protection module now. Some kits are cheaper, some are more expensive (because some paints are now cheaper and some more expensive), but if you want to buy "turret + hull + protection module", you must pay a lot more than earlier. Here are some examples: "Raiden" kit - used to cost 315k crystals, it costs 451k crystals now and there are no protection modules. if you want to buy an additional 3-component protection module you need to pay additional 100k (M2) or 250k (M3) crystals. The total price is now 551k (M2 protection) or 601k (M3 protection) crystals - compare it to the old price, namely 315k crystals. "Rock climber" kit - used to cost 422k crystals, it costs 305k crystals now and there are no protection modules. If you want to buy an additional 3-component protection module (M3) you need to pay additional 250k crystals. The total price is now 555k crystals - compare it to the old price, namely 422k crystals. As you can see, the new update made the kits a lot more expensive in fact. You could say that one does not need to buy a protection module every time you buy a kit now, but: - some kits are still a lot more expensive than the old ones. - when you buy a new kit, you need a suitable protection module, at M3 ranks in particular. Different combinations of hull+turret require different set of protections (e.g. railgun-hornet might want ricochet-smoky-railgun protection module, while it is not very usefull for mammoth-vulcan).

I do not care. I can't complain to programmers directly, so I must complain to you. Just like in a restaurant - I cannot walk into the kitchen and say "Hey, cook, you screwed my dinner!". Im telling it to the waiter. Because he is the person I can talk to. I agree with that, and I was not referring to this kind of stuff. But still, there are issues like: - TO can be played not only on the mainpage, but also on big portals with flash games, e.g. Kongregate (http://www.kongregate.com/games/tankionlineuser/tanki-online). Yet, players there are not supported (they cannot access the forum, they cannot report violators, their accounts cannot be migrated). Probably few people here are aware of this fact, but hundreds (if not thousands) of people played TO via Kongregate, without any support. Yet, TO accepts their money. Do they have a right to be upset? Moderators/administrators are not helping them at all. - moderators have rejected 2 of my 100% correct reports. I am not complaining that they did not punish the violators - they refused to take my report into consideration, however I met all requirements listed in the game violations section. The reason for rejecting my reports was... moderators' convenience. So, yeah, I am not supporting incompetent moderators.
-
Um, didn't find an answer to my question there. I am also not sure if all the information is up-to-date, since for example regular battles cannot be 5 or 10 minutes long. Unless you are referring to the "10 seconds" rule? But even then, I am not sure if the time period between me dying and teammate killing enemy is always bigger than 10 seconds. Well, if my damage was really small (2%), then I could of course expect no score/experience. But sometimes I am sure that my damage was significant.
-
Yes, it is good for certain maps and battle modes - HR (written by Russians as XP) battles in particular. But it is a complete crap on other maps.
-
Why would we support incompetent moderators/administrators? Why would we support moderators/administrators who can't do their jobs well and can't support their decisions? Why would we supoort moderators/administrators who care more about themselves than about players? When something is not working you (I don't mean you personally here, but all the moderators/administrators communiy) always say: it's not my job, we are just volunteers, we are regular players who got additional privilages... Now look from our point of view. Some players actually spend real money on the game. Bigger or smaller amounts, but it is real money. Thus, we (players) are clients, TO is a commercial product and you are the sellers. We don't really care if you are "just a regular players with additional privilages" or not. It is your problem that you get no money from TO Company, not ours. We expect that any issues should be solved and it is TO's problem how they do it. If they cannot find enough or good enough volunteers, maybe they should hire more full-time workers? And finally, if someone should support you for "doing your best" it is TO Company, not players community. You are doing your job for TO, not for the players. Because it is TO who is responsible for removing any issues, hackers, saboteurs, mults, etc. It is also their business, because if they let hackers hacking, saboteurs sabotaging, etc., the normal players will just leave. Exactly! One should be automatically removed from battle if: - does not press any key for 3 minutes - does not score any points for 3-5 minutes - puased and the battle ended (I can often see that after a battle ended, there are still players who paused - they are using the spot and teams can't be fair in fact) Also, the pause length should be reduced to 3 minutes. 5 minutes is too long, especially in 15 minutes-long battles. It's 1/3!

AFAIK, if you fully MU a turret/hull, you can "transform" it into one modification higher when you unlock it.It has nothing to do with kits. For example, if you fully MU a rail M1, you can get M2 rail for free at First-Lieutenant rank. You need to pay a full price for M3 rail (or fully MU your M2 rail). Furthermore, if you fully MU a turret/hull and the kit you want to buy has this turret/hull, the price of the kit will not be reduced. Just like it is not reduced if you simply buy this turret/hull. For example, if you fully MU your M1 rail or simply buy M2 rail, the price of Tornado kit (which has M2 railgun) is not reduced. Finally, please keep in mind that buying all MUs is more expensive than just buying a next modification of the same turret.

How does the kill-assistance feature work?
Schroedinger_Cat replied to Schroedinger_Cat in How does the kill-assistance feature work? Archive
How does the kill-assistance feature work? All I know (please correct me if I am wrong) is that: - one receives 10 points (battle score) for killing an enemy (more if he is carrying flag, but that's a different story), - if one player takes 40% of the enemy's health and another player takes 60% of the enemy's health, the first one receives 4 points and the other one receives 6 points, - if a damaged enemy picks up a repair box, uses repair from his garrage supplies or is repaired by an Isida, the "counter" is reset (players, who damaged this tank before it got repaired, do not receive score/experience after this tank is destroyed by other players). I am missing something (or there is a bug), because sometimes I do not get score/experience for assisting in destroying an enemy tank. In most cases it happens when I damage an enemy, the enemy kills me and then my teammate comes and finishes off the enemy. And I am sure that the enemy did not use a repair kit, because I can see him even after my tank was destroyed. -
Um... you didn't calm me. Cedric's eye is blind.

I am sorry for the mistakes. I can only say that tt was late and I was tired. My main mistake was that I got Dictator M2 MUed, that's why I wrote it has more HP than Vik. Anyway, a turret mounted on Dictator is higher than on a Viking. In some cases it helps with shooting enemies who are close, but on different altitude. Referring to paints, I prefer twins protection over vulcan or hammer, since twis is more popular at M2 ranks. At least on maps I play. Good for what? You will rank up soon, but you are basically broke. And you are broke because you bought too many M1's. You must suffer the consequences now. "Boar" kit is very good, but it costs over 150k crystals. And you unlock it on next rank. It means that by the time you save up more crystals, you will be 3-4 ranks higher. If you buy "Boar" then, it will still be good, but maybe not amazing anymore. My advice is to either skip M2 and buy an early M3 kit at Colonel/Brigadier rank, or buy a stronger M2 kit (Atlas, Minotaur) and then start saving for M3. The 2nd option will be probably easier for you.
-
Any arguments for that? IMO, Dictator-Twins > Viking-Twins (because of more HP, speed is not that much needed) and Cherry > Winter on Polygon CP (Cherry has high twins and Thunder protection, while Winter has only average Thunder protection).
-
That is too many IMO, but do whatever you want. BTW, I bough Vampire on my alt (first sergeant rank) and it is better than I thought. However, most of my enemies have stil M0 stuff.
-
"Stinger" is a good kit for that price. But it all depends on what maps you are playing on most often. How many crystals have you got now? You will unlock "Stinger" at next rank, but if you got little crystals now, there might be better kits available by the tame you save up. I am still using rico M2 ad dictator M2 and it works fine. I will buy an M3 kit soon, waiting for rotation. So, better save up for M3. However smoky-viking is a good combo, the Winter paint is not that good. There are not many shafts at medium ranks (unless playing on Highways, Brest or Monte Carlo maps). Shaft is most popular at newbie ranks. Furthermore, Winter has average thunder protection and protections from 2 another turrets, but they are negligible (5% only). If you want a kit with smoky M2, better buy "Aborigine" or "Atlas". Both have very good paints and decent hulls. Well, hammer and vulcan become more popular later, so you must decide how long are you going to use your M2 kit? Or, in other words, what will be the first M3 kit you buy? If was buying a kit with M2 twins, it would be probably "Jam" - it has a much better paint, Dictator hull is slower, but has more HP, so it is good for CP battles or defending flag. Unfortunately, it is too slow for capturing flags on medium or large maps. Well, people start using anti-thunder paints at colonel/brigadier ranks (and not all of them), so you have some time. However, atom is not that good. It has a good protection from hammer, average protection from fire, but protections from twins and freeze are lower... You would need to buy some MUs to make this paint average. If you want a kit with thunder M2, "Guard", "Simoom" (unlocked 2 ranks earlier!) and maybe "Fortress" are better options. However, these kits got heavier hulls, so they are better for camping behind a wall, not driving over the map. Well, Hunter is still faster than Viking. And Firebird needs a fast hull. I have seen many Firewalls and they are doing great, so yeah, it is a good kit. The paint is good also. Firebolt is good also, so it is up to you which one you chose. Basically, the protections you need depend on the map. On maps like Serpuhov, Wave or Brest, wasp-fire needs long-range turrets protections (or you die before you reach the enemy). On maps like Hill or Polygon close-range turrets protections are better. Well, it all depends on maps... For example, on Noise or Gravity maps Titan is OK when capturing flags (because of big pushing power and because light hulls cannot reach their max speed). When it comes to CP, you need to chose a map where the point(s) is/are close to spawning area. Titan is fast enough for Polygon CP (most popular map-mode), Sandbox CP or Noise CP. It is definetely a good kit. A general remark - don't look only on how much better an M2 hull is than M1 of same type. The overall picture is also important - what rank they are unlocked at, how good is one M2 hull compared to another M2 hull. So far I advised you which kit to buy if you want to have a certain turret. However, if you want Viking M2 more than a particular turret, I would suggest "Minotaur" or "Northerner". At medium ranks people are just using the paints they have in garrage, not best paint suited for current battle. Having a good paint is nice, but not most important IMO. Another advantage of Viking hull (and the 2 mentioned kits in fact) is that it can be used on nearly any map, so you don't get bored because your combo works only on 2-3 maps and completely sucks elsewhere.

I don't have much experience with freeze, so cannot tell how good it is at M1. I think it is good, but that's only an opinion of a frozen guy, not the one who freezes. ;) Hornet is a good hull for freeze, Storm is a nice ant-firebird paint. Firebird is one of most popular turrets, so the paint will definetely help you. Hooligan has a bad paint - shaft is not a big threat, unless you are playing on Brest or Highways maps. Many noobs use shaft, but it is easy to knock off their aim. However, hornet-smoky needs a lot of skill to be used efficiently.

I have not bought Predator kit nor Thunder M1, but others say it is quite good. Predator has a bad paint though. However, you got enough M1 equipment IMO and you should save for an M2 kit. You are welcome. So, you are not a total noob now. ;) In this case I suggest buying one M1 kit (if any, I bought Boar kit at WO5 without buying any M1 earlier), preferably a cheap one (Keeper, Vampire or Firefly) and save up for an M2 kit. If you buy a strong M2 kit right after you unlock it + a few MUs (I suggest buying not more than 10-15 MUs on M2 stuff), you will dominate the battles for quite a long time. If I were you, I would probably just buy Firefly, but buying Vampire + Firebird or Keeper + Firebird seem to be good options too (Titan + Firebird works well on small maps like Hill, Island, Arena, might work well on Polygon, I didn't see it there though). Wasp + isida is bad for Polygon, because it dies quickly. Wasp + Firebird also dies quickly, but kills more enemies (in CP mode in particular). However, Wasp + Isida might be better for Brest, Sandbox, Serpuhov and Barda (self-healing helps when capturing flags). Anyway, before you make a decision, wait more opinions. I am not an "Alpha and Omega of TO". ;) --- Edit: If anyone is curious: I ranked up recently, got 536k crystals ATM, bought only Boar kit and a dozen of MUs on hull and turret + 3 or 4 on paint. One can earn more if does daily missions only (I earned a lot of experience on some days). Investing in Firebird M1 turret or a cheap M1 kit might be more profitable than not buying any M1 equipment or might be not. Can't tell it for sure. Saying it to help you plan your own purchases. 2nd Edit: I am not sure if Lizard kit is available to you, but buying it at the lowest ranks is a good idea. You get an M1 hull + anti-rico paint + rico M0, which is nice for the lowest ranks.
-
Please keep in mind that Highland, Molotov, Barda and Farm are less popular maps at higher ranks and you might have problems with finding games on them. Most popular maps from your list are: Polygon, Sandbox and Noise - you can always find a few games on these. However, if you still want a combo which works for also Brest or Barda maps, it's better to avoid heavy hulls. I also advise you not to buy more than 1-2 M1 kits. One should be enough, buy a second if you really must have it. The reason is that the more crystals you spend on M1 stuff, the less crystals you will have to buy an M2 kit. Both, Keeper and Tsunami are decent M1 kits. Tsunami has better paint, but is also more defensive and costs almost twice as much as Keeper. IMO, fighter is better than Bulldog. And Predator is probably better than both of them. From that list, you will be able to buy only Keeper soon. All other kits cost 2-4x more than Keeper. So, my advice is to buy Keeper and then save for another M1 kit, or M2 kit. I would call this plan more pro, because it requires playing longer with M0. It is possible of course (I played with M0 till Warrant Officer 5), but requires some skill and knowledge. However, I am not sure if you need 2 of these kits. I would go for Predator or Fighter. Also, Tornado is not that great. Not much use of it on Polygon or Noise maps. How long are you playing? You got 14k crystals and spent almost nothing so far, which means you play for 1-2 weeks only. ;) Is it your first account? Well, if you are not sure of your skills (game will become harder now, less and less noobs who cannot drive or turn their turrets), follow the first plan. Otherwise, follow the 2nd one. You might also consider replacing Keeper kit with Vampire or Firefly (I would say Firefly is better), or even just buy firebird M1 separately (it costs 7k crystals only). Vampire and Firefly will work well on most maps from your list.

A non-buying player can now afford M2 and M3 kits right when they are unlocked [color-orange]if plays smart[/color]. Many players do not play smart and waste their crystals on buying multiple M1 turrets and hulls. Well, if you want to have everything, you must pay. Otherwise nobody would pay a penny. I agree that it is hard to save up for most M1 kits, but you can alwys go to another battle. There are not many buyers at low ranks.
