Yes! I am still using it! Dictator is slow, so you will perform better on small and medium maps, but there are plenty of them. On the other hand, Dictator is good for catching gold boxes.

Every game which is not brand new (TO is 7 years old!) needs some mechanisms to make chasing old players by new players easier. Otherwise the new players will feel that they cannot achieve anything, because old players will always have a huge advantage, and quit. TO devs cannot make equipment too cheap, because nobody would spend $$$ on the game and they need some $$$ to maintain the game. Somebody must pay for the electricity. The developers need to earn $$$ for their living. That's how all free-to-play games work - basic functionality is for free, but if you want to have everything, you need to spend $$$. IMO, TO has not the worst solutions. Premium account speeds up ones progress, but doesn't give much advantages over others in battle. The premium paint might be good on very low ranks, but at medium and higher ranks is not that great. You can compete with "buyer players" if you plan your progress and spend crystals efficiently. Drugs might be an issue, but there were some updates (daily missions, mission chains) that provide us tons of free drugs. There are many contests, where everybody can take part in and earn a big pack of crystals.

Users are not mentioned there. If you say "something is not available" it means, that it is not available to anyone, including TO employees, the police, GRU and Mossad. If your intention was to say, that the data "is not available for Users' review", the EULA shall be edited in the following way: But it is not. Thus TO is not allowed to do so. Well, if TO really means any material, it is in contradiction with the first part. Since the chat logs were excluded in the first part, you cannot restore them in the subsequent sentence! It's against any logic! So what? Storing chat logs is forbidden by point 11.3. I can understand that, but I do not care about it. Rules are rules and must be obeyed also by TO. If you need the chat logs, please change the EULA. You are not allowed to store them with the current EULA. What? I never mentioned my ban! You simply talk about things that are not important, while avoiding referring to important arguments! What? Which part of your post have I ignored? And no, Cedric's reply has not clarified anything. Mainly because he talks about his reasons, not the EULA itself.

That's good! :) I know. I cannot tell you which combo is best, I am not that experienced. However, I think I can tell which combos are good and which are bad. OK, if you are going to buy kits, the problem is way easier. So, your question should be: which kit to buy. ;) Do not be afraid to buy a turret you never used. You can always create a new account, buy the same turret at M0, get the basic experience and then buy a kit with this turret on your main account. :) You probably should see the turrets/hulls section also. The turrets are discussed there, so you can learn more about how much better the higher modification is. Well, in most cases facing a higher modification tank is hard. You said exactly the same thing later, when you mentioned destroying all m0 tanks. ;) Hoverwer, it is true that some combos are not doomed to fail vs higher modification tanks. For example, M1 hunter-twins can win vs M2 wasp-fire if the fire is spotted early enough. It all depends on the situation. On the contrary, at least half of that stuff is considered by you as a waste. And IMO, just one M1 combo would be enough. But do not worry about it. Every newbie buys as much as (s)he can, simply because of curiosity or because got wrecked by and experienced player. I remember when I started playing for the first time (on another account) - I got wrecked by a guy with railgun, so I bought railgun and it turned out, I lack skill to hit anyone. ;) I got wrecked by isida, so I bought isida. I got wrecked by firebird, so I bought firebird. And so on... It was probably your bet purchase so far. :) IMO, firebird M1 has a very good power to price ratio among M1 turrets. Really? ;) I could afford "Boar" kit (which has M2 hull and M2 turret) at Warrant Officer 5 rank (2 ranks lower than yours). I was lucky to buy it during a sale, so I saved additional ~15,000 crystals. So, I had an M2/M2 tank earlier than you started thinking about saving for M2. Do you still think it was foolish? ;) Many players laughed at me then, but when I finally bought the kit I was dominating nearly any battle. Because all others had M1 tanks. Of course, it was a bit hard at WO3 - WO5 ranks, but definetely worth it. And I wouldn't do it if I didn't have experience from my previous account. Skills can compensate worse equipment to some extent. Also, if you join battles, in which your rank is highest allowed, you increase your chances for high score (if other players have same rank as you or lower, they have worse tanks on avarage than in case when your rank is lowest). Believe me, you do not really need more than one M1 and one M2 combo. However this might be boring, I can understand that. Just like an M2 tank can destroy you easily. ;) However, the biggest differences in power are between M0 and M1. An experienced player with an M0 tank can easily destroy M1 newbie though. Excellent! :) I never said that firebird is bad for Hill. On the contrary, it's one of best turrets there. I can assure you that it will not work vs more experienced players. Railgunners are wrecked easily on Hill map, especially if enemies are using hammer, rico or twins. You seem to know a lot already. I cannot help you much then. In particular, I cannot point the best M2 combo/kit. Maybe someone else will? Yes, firebird M2 is quite strong. However, the tactic depends on map you play. For example, on Polygon CP you should just go to the point and use all your napalm to burn the crowd there. In most cases you will not survive long enough to reload. ;) But you can still destroy a few tanks for the price of one life of yours. Well, firebird can be used on large maps too. You need a light hull though. You need to sneak to the enemy base. If you succeed, you can cause a lot of havoc. ;) For example, on Brest or Highways maps there is a big number of shaft/railgun campers. If you can reach them, you destroy one after another. Works well on Sepruhov or Rio also. Basically, all you need to do is make an surprise attack, on a bunch of enemies preferably. If you are a newbie, it would be probably better if you bought an M2/M2 or M2/M3 kit. I cannot suggest buying any, since I got only "Boar" (which is great and can be successfully used till Brigadier at least). Whether you find my opinions valuable or not, be aware of some facts. Thunder is good, but at some point many players will have thunder protection paints (players at Brigadier ranks and higher, but you will start meeting them soon, since they will be in your rank range). At this point you might end up with a turret, which is no longer as good as it was 2 ranks earlier. Since you still need to earn crystals, I suggest an M2/M2 or M2/M3 kit which is unlocked late, and then buy and M3/M3 kit which is also unlocked late. In other words, your new M2/M2 or M2/M3 kit must be good enough to get to General rank. The other option is to buy a cheap M2 kit and then buy a cheap M3 kit unlocked early, but I am not sure if you can earn crystals fast enough. I cannot guranatee the following ones are good enough, but they are worth being considered (random order): 1. "Boar" - I have made a comment on this kit already. I will just add one thing - Dictator is very good for catching gold boxes on small and medium maps (might be too slow for maps like Kungur if the gold box is dropped far). I was able to get even 10 gold boxes per week sometimes. 2. "Aborigine" - looks like a decent combo 3. "Mountain" - additional fire protection paint needed, Marine not enough IMO. 4. "Atlas" - never had it, but many players say it is one of strongest M2 kits with a very good paint 5. "Firewall" - just as you said, fire m2 is very strong, hunter is a good compromise between speed and durability, which makes this kit quite good for small and medium maps you like. I would suggest it to you. 6. "Jam" - it is a new kit, but looks interesting. Has a decent paint. And dictator again. 7. "Vesuvius" - similar to "Mountain", just less HP and more speed. 8. "Firebolt" - Wasp M2 is much better than Hornet M2 (similar amount of HP, much more speed). One wasp per team is good even for Hill map to make a quck capture. However, on medium or bigger maps you might get destroyed before you reach your enemy, so it requires "how to survive" skill. ;) 9. "Stinger" - quite cheap and good M2 kit. Works best on rather big maps (light hull, a paint which protects from long range turrets). If you can buy it soon, maybe you will save enough crystals to buy an M3 kit at Brigadier rank. 10. "Anaconda" - good turret and hull, but weak paint. 11. "Minotaur" or "Ram" - the only difference is the hull. Both are quite good, however many say Atlas is better. 12. "Mosquito" - if you really are not so bad with rail, maybe this one is for you? However, it will not work well on Noise or Polygon maps... 13. "Ant" - decent paint, good hull and turret. It be successfully used for a long time, but needs some "how to survive" skill again. ;) Not so good for Polygon. If I were you, I would probably choose #4 or #9. --- Edit: One more thing. If you want to have more crystals, slow down your progress. Do only daily missions and change those which grant you supplies only (the first change is for free, not worth to pay for more). I understand that you want to play actually, but... You can create more accounts, experiment there with new weapons and use your experience to spend crystals on the main account as efficiently as possible. If you rush, you end up with a small amount of crystals, a weak tank and high rank.

The EULA says it here: You simply avoid all my arguments and continue writing your bosh. I doubt it.

WHAT? O_O  I am sorry to say that, but it seems you have problems with expressing your thoughts in english. Once again I am not sure if I understand you correctly. Server = machine (a thing you can touch with your fingers) + software necessary to provide the TO services. Internet Site = all electronical resources, such as game client, main page, forum, etc. The Internet Site must be stored on machines (servers) and cannot store anything itself. Internet Site is not a machine. It's like "contents" and "book". Book is made of paper and contents are stored there. Book is tangible, contents are abstract. Same about Servers and internet Site. The EULA doesn't say that the chat messages are not available to the users only once they are gone from the chat window. It says that the chat messages become unavailable to anyone, including TO. TO disclaimed their rights (if they had any in the first place - it is a matter of law and I am not going to discuss it here) for recording chat messages, thus doing so is forbidden! Here is a simple analogy: imagine that your grandfather dies and you inherit a legacy from him. You can either accept or reject it. Once you reject it, you cannot say "hey, it belongs to me!" in the future. Do you understand it? TO said that they will never record any chat messages. Thus, they are not allowed to do so. They limited themselves! I am sorry, but you have problems with both, writing and reading in english... Where is the Internet Site stored? On a boat? On a cow leather? Or on servers? I did. Did you read my post carefully? Did you read my "2 possibilites" example? Did you understand it? What is the point of talking about "chat messages storage", which was clearly forbidden in the previous sentence? There is none! Thus, the "content" means everything except from chat messages. There is no other option. If your interpretation was true, why would they write "we do not store chat messages and they are gone forever when disappear from chat window"? What you say does not make any sense. A simple analogy. Imagine you are running a canteen. You write Rules for the cooks and customers. Among all other points, there is a section about fruit desserts. Now, tell, me - are the cooks allowed to make a banana pie if bananas are not rotten? No! Explanation for dummies:

When did you send a complaint to Damn_Slow? Maybe you need to give him some time? Was your complaint kind or full of curses?

I am fine with it. However, if it was about changing only our way of thinking, we would just send PM to each other. I hope I changed the way of thinking of some people who read this. From a mathematical point of view, having the same options + some extra ones gives an advantage. And it is not a matter of personal opinions. Now, the advantage might be bigger or smaller. I do not have statistical data to state if the advantage is big or small, but I have the right to be concerned. And here I agree to disagree, because you don't have the statistical data, which means we both have only personal opinions. Can you tell me if TO developers read this topic or how can I pay their attention to this problem? Making them aware of the problem is all I want. I hope they will wokr out a fair solution then.

First of all, you should avoid buying separate turrets and hulls. Buying kits instead is way cheaper - you often pay less for the kit than for a turret + hull, and you get a paint in addition. Unfortunately, it does depend on the playing style and skill. However, it depends more on the maps you play most often. For example, thunder might be good in Polygon CP, but bad for Arena, Island and Hill maps. Players also have their own likings. Some love thunder, some say it sucks... Whom shall you believe? None, you need to try yourself. Yes, I know you cannot afford to buy all turrets. Life sucks. If you have a good M1 combo now, you might think about skipping M2 and saving for M3 equipment. M3/M3 kits start being available at Lieutenant Colonel rank (5 ranks higher than you are now). By the time you save up enough crystals for M2 stuff, you might be close to unlock first M3 kits. So, you must answer the question: which M3 kit are you going to buy first? And then another question: can you reach the rank that unlocks your M3 kit with your current tank or you must buy M2 equipment? Maybe an M2/M3 kit is a good option for you? They are unlocked 2-3 ranks earlier than full M3 kits. Do you want to know how to save up crystals? Save them! Which means - do not waste them. You have wasted a lot of crystals for buying stuff you did not really need. You wanted to buy them? It's fine, but do not complain now that saving is hard. Just think twice or thrice before buying anything. I have not bought any M1 turret or hull and bought only one M2 kit ("Boar"). I was saving for M3 equipment, got over 500,000 crystals now and I am waiting for kits rotation. (This is not my 1st account, keep in mind I got some experience on another one!) Ok, so about what you could possibly buy. Most of the maps you play on are big or medium ones. Only Hill is small. Thus, I would suggest long- or medium-range turret. Thunder pairs well with both viking and hornet, even with Mammoth if you like to camp e.g. on Highland or Polygon maps. Railgun is fun, but requires a lot of skill to get high scores. I can't say how long you can play with thunder and viking/hornet M1 without a pain, but firebird M1 will become too weak before you unlock M3 kits. I don't liek shaft and I haven't played much with it, so I will not comment it. However, I can assure you that all these 3 turrets are bad for small maps like Hill (thunder being best among them, but still bad). Now about turrets you do not have. Isida is great for earning experience/score (you don't have to engage enemy, you gain experience/score by healing teammates), but is also often targeted first. Ricochet is great for maps with a lot of obstalces (preferably with flat walls), or just small and medium maps. I'm using M2 rico and it's just great till Major rank, and it's still good (not so great though) later. Freeze would work fine for all maps you mentioned (mounted on hornet hull). Smoky would be a good option for all your favourite maps as well, either on viking or hornet hulls. Twins is a good option too, especially for Highland, Noise, Polygon and Hill maps.

Is 10 vs 10 Serpuhov CTF worse than 10 vs 10 Aleksandrovsk CTF? Or 10 vs 10 Kungur CTF? Polygon CP bad for earning exp? What do you expect us to say? It is up to you if you take the risk or not. If you want to blame us because we told you to buy/not to buy the paint in case Germany wins/loses the cup, it is a bad idea.

Servers contain both types of data - available and unavailable for users. The secnod type is availabale only for the Company. The data must be stored somewhere. Of course you can store data on many "data carriers" (e.g. CDs), but even then you have to temporarily store the data on servers. The point 11.3. of EULA is not about where TO can store data or not - it is about storing chat messages at all, and it clearly says TO is not allowed to do it. You are wrong. The point 11.1. of EULA says: Thus, the chapter 11 refers to both, chat and forum. Since storing chat logs is forbidden 2 first sentences of point 11.3., the remaining part of point 11.3. must refer to the forum. Which makes sense. Not chat, but any other content. Forum posts in this case. And where is the Internet Site stored if not on the TO servers? Sever = hardware, Internet Site = software. Have you read the definitions at the top of the EULA?
-
Let us consider two possibilities: 1. The company doesn't store chat messages on its servers. Chat messages are only available in real time and are automatically erased once they are gone from the chat window. 2. The company is allowed, but not obliged to store chat messages on its servers or elsewhere. Chat messages may be available to the Company even after they are gone from the chat window. The first option is a declaration, that TO will not store chat messages under any circumstances. It also declares that they are gone forever when they disappear from the chat window. The second option says that TO is allowed to store chat messages if they want to. It is also a warning ("we can see what you write to other users"). Can you see the difference? Since the first option is used in EULA, the sentences following it cannot refer to chat logs, because chat logs are forbidden.Simple logic.

Because Tareq.Jami is not a moderator - (s)he is a censor... I have reported him/her and it worked - an admin did what (s)he should in a few hours (I was surprised!). You can try reporting T.J as well. I hope that T.J will think twice (at least) before removing users' content next time.

Ummm... OK, but why TO does not write in its EULA that they can store chat logs? They actually wrote the opposite - that they cannot store them. The problem discussed here is not that they store chat logs - the problem is that they are violating their own EULA this way. How can we trust that TO obeys other points of the EULA if we know they violate one? Users read the EULA, they learn that TO cannot store chat logs and then it turnes out that they actually do it. It is sad, but it means that all users, who got banned based on the stored chat logs and not screenshots only, shall be unbanned and satisfied for each day of their ban (let me make it clear - I am not talking about myself here). However it is morally wrong, that is how LAW must work. just like in a court - a judge cannot imprison a criminal based on illegal evidence. Otherwise judges do not need evidence at all and we end up with a dictatorship, not state of law. Is it required by law? If so, why TO does not write in its EULA that they are allowed to store chat logs? The EULA is very clear about it. You are writing about everything else, but not EULA. It's like saying that robbers are bad guys, they must be punished for what they have done, but not mentioning that the Criminal Code is not saying anything about punishing robbers. You are right - but only about the principles. Law is law and must be obeyed! I was told (by one of moderators), that moderators have access to chat logs. Damn_Slow, you are talking about general stuff, but you have not referred to my post anywhere. There is a huge differnce between a clear statement made in the EULA and what you wrote. The EULA is extremely clear here. Storing chat logs in any way is against the EULA. And I am not interested about your reasons for storing chat logs - it is against the current EULA, no matter what the reasons are. If you need to store chat logs, you must change the EULA first. And what about violating the EULA for... How long? Months? Years? How can you compensate it to the users? Since storing chat logs is against EULA, the remaining part of point 11.3. of the EULA refers to any content other than chat messages. This part can be considered as a "disclaimer". But not the first 2 sentences. They are very clear about what TO is not allowed to do under any circumstances.

The fact that you have never seen them (which I doubt, I saw 2-3 hackers in 6 months, and you saw none in 6 years?) does not mean they do not exist. I never saw a bacteria, which doesn't mean they do not exist.

The topic was originally started by bonjourcomputer, but was closed by moderator censor. The moderator censor refused to re-open the original topic at my request. Thus, I am forced to create a new one. Before you read my post, please read the original topic (only 2 posts there, so not much): http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=326550 --- I was told by TO admin recently that TO keeps the logs, however I did not notice it is against the EULA. Yes, I read them. And it seems you completely do not understand them. So, let's analyse the 3rd point. First 2 lines refer to chat. AFAIK, There is no other chat than the in-game chat. Thus, the rules say TO is not allowed to record in-game chat logs it is stated very clear. So please, moderator censor shall not lie about it! The next 2 lines (the highlited ones) refer to "posting material on the Internet Site". Writing in the in-game chat is not posting any materials to the "Internet Site". It also mentions a storage capacity for each user, which means that each user may or may not be allowed to upload some materials to the TO "Internet Site". It is clear that the highlighted lines refer to an option for users and definetely not to recording chat logs.

More options = advantage. What you are trying to do is looking for certain situations when the 4-protection paint is not better. But there are many, many games. In some (and the amount is not negligible) 4-protection paints will give an advantage. It is quite common that in 8-9 player teams there are not more than 4-5 different turrets. You are probably playing for years. I bet you already got many m3 turrets and hulls. When I reach the gissimo acount, you will have a great advantage over me, despite the fact I can buy m3 equipment cheaper. However, this change in game mechanics did not block any possibility for you. The new module system, in its current shape, will block certain possibilities for new players. That is a huge difference. Moreover, developers of most games make "chasing" old players easier at some point. It motivates both, old and new players to continue playing. Old players want to keep the advantage, new ones want to reduce it. It is almost true. The update was beneficial also to those who upgraded 2-3 parameters. In a long run, it was also beneficial only to those, who had m3 equipment already (yes, the update increased parameters of lower modification equipment, but eventually you will use m3's only, right?). I doubt that old players did not buy any MUs. Buying all MUs was possible, but unlikely. Thus, old players with m3 equipment benefited most. Which was my point. What does it matter? The overall amount of players might decrease as well. Well, when the update is set stone, it will be too late for anything. I hope game devs read this topic. Please use 'quote" button. It makes reading easier. In the latest V-LOG they said that they are already at the testing stage. Which means they implemented everything and are looking for flaws or are working on interface.
-
1. You asked about any other thoughts. 2. The colour you used is bright enough to hurt my eyes, which makes reading harder. 3. If you do not respect others, why would you expect others help you? Titan-isida is a good combo for small maps (Hill, Island, Arena) or defending on bigger ones (e.g. Silence CTF, Noise CTF).
-
It's not an argument. We still will be able to buy 3-protection modules. Yes, it is unfair a bit. However, the "degree of unfairness" is acceptable, since these paints are not stronger than the highest-tier paints available in garrage (AFAIK). Why wasted? They got better equipment sooner and they earned more crystals this way. Moreover, the MU update from autumn last year favored them, so they got something in return. And finally, crystals can be earned by playing. At some point, the 4-protection paints will become inaccessible forever to all players, including gissimos. The new update could be made fair in an easy way - by allowing to buy 4-protection modules and setting a "total protection cap". It could work this way: The total protection cap is 120%, which means that the sum of all protections cannot exceed 120%. There is also single-protection cap, set to 50% (none single-turret protection can exceed it). It is up to you how you arrange your protections - it could be 40%-40%-40%, 50%-50%-20% or 50%-40%-20%-10%.
-
AKILAN1234, what hulls do you use/have? What maps do you play most often?
-
Yes. Please do not use big size red colour (or any colour other than default) font, because it hurts our eyes. We can see your posts when they are composed using default size and colour.
-
The V-Log says also that players who already got the 4-protection paints (e.g. Africa) will get a 4-protection module instead (which will not be available to buy). But lower rank players, who have not unlocked these paints yet (and will not until the update comes), will never have it. It is unfair, isn't it?
-
Well, it all depends on map. If you are a not a heavy drugger, capturing flag on Noise and Silence maps is pretty hard. Island or Hill are small maps and capturing flags there doesn't give many points. Capturing on Serpuhov, Kungur, Brest or Rio is way easier if the enemy team is not much stronger than yours. These maps are most popular for CTF. So, if you can capture many flags on them, go for CTF. Otherwise play Polygon CP. In CTF battles it is much easier to get twice as much points as the next guy in your team without drugging, which means more crystals for you.
-
1. Don't buy single turrets or hulls. Buy kits instead. 2. I have seen your profile. You already got an m2 turret (freeze) as well as a few m1 ones. If you lack anything, it is a medium or heavy hull, not tutrrets. I would suggest not buying anything now and start saving for M3 equipment. That stuff is expensive. 3. If you still want to buy one of these turrets, go for rico. Rico is amazing, though hard to control with a light hull like hornet.

Yes, I did. Nothing valuable there. You quoted my entire post, where just one sentence was adressed to you, and the rest to other people. I quoted one part of your post to make you happy with your notification. Quoting every 3-4 words you wrote just because they are silly, would mess my posts totally. Please tell me, who is actually the one making the most sense here? No...dont answer that...your just gonna say that it is you. And I actually don't care about your answer. You talk about using spoilers, but you don't use them. Why? Are they bad for you? Or you don't care and just want to harass others? And finally, this is not a "How to write good posts" topic. If you are unhappy with the way I compose my posts, you can send me a PM. Or just live with it. EOT. --- How are you playing with freeze on Polygon? Freezeing enemies who crowd at the point or running around map and killing single enemies who spawn or camp with long-range turrets? That epic K/D suggests the 2nd way, since most tanks die quickly near the point. The reason why I'm not convinced to freeze is that it deals less damage than fire (no afterburn), while being vulnerable because of short range. There are 2 kits with m3 freeze: "Boreas" and "Refrigerator". I could buy "Medic" + "Boreas" or "Refrigerator" + "Healer", but I lack about 150k crystals now, which means I would have to wait with buying 2nd kit and MUs for both. Medic is good on small (Island, Hill, Arena) and medium (Polygon, Noise, Silence maybe) maps, but too slow on bigger ones or those with less obstacles.Small maps usually don't grant big battle funds. On the other side, isida is the turret which can always be useful due to it's unique healing ability. I need to think more about it.
