What are you using? Chrome? You need to go here: Chrome://flags And enable Hardware Aceleration via chromes settings. This of course is experimental but it makes a heck of a difference when enabled. Can you explain why you need to change the graphics settings? -
IK It was litterally after i posted this, but it was always 9p when it restarted (usually my TV time lol relax watch some drama shows)

I searched on help site, no good, seen it around but wanna know a way to do it without having to delete the game. I have looked at this link: http://help.tankionline.com/topics/35708-problems-with-the-game-client/ But that requires you to reinstall. The F5 function seems to be broke, trying to fix it. But idk -
I never see this button lol I just click the center of the screen to go back to the game
-
If you read the "*" you will see it has only happen a handfull of times and is so brief - doesnt stick for long. Since it really is only suppose to go to 60 it drops back down. Might be a bug since fixed hasnt happen in awhile
-
Seems to be happening in several parts of the game. Leads me to my theory. You are experiencing Server lag. Generally when a website isn't completely loaded you will experience such things, generally a refresh will help fix it. Generally - but in this case I personally think the game has a memory leak - Creating a whole list of issues. The overall issue is lag and stability. But, hopefully overtime, my theory can develop into a hypothesis, and into a solution. Still doing research on my own time to help the game. As a programmer and developer of 2.5 years, I have a little experience in Code stability. Memory leaks from a coders viewpoint occur in your code since Tanki in general is complex it probably is likely that such is occuring.
-
Basically, thats what I was saying in theory that the code could cause a memory leak creating a irritable returning lag. Restarts aren't a good practice was said so by a developer of over 20 years. You should have stable code. Unless they need to apply a update of course. But I actually feel secure witha restart. Anyhow, yea. We will see in the coming days. I am still researching my theory and will also opena issue on another forum about this.

You need to enable Hardware Accelleration. On chrome: Chrome://flags You will find it there, since its experimental - Choose enable and relaunch chrome I also would try the TO Client. Disable Adaptive FPS to solve the other half. If its already disabled, try the client. Chrome I get max 45 fps. With TO Client with Adaptive disabled, i ahve gotten 80 but it was so brief menaing it went right back down - 60 fps is generally the max it will stay at - it can go above 60 but it wont stay there.

Got a new theory (see http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=348556)
-
lol that wouldn't happen. And its a theory, read it if you wanna understand the concept
-
No. Its on thier end not ours. A memory leak is simply because a application is using more than it is suppose to. A link is given explaining what a Memory leak is in the FAQ spoiler. In a Game, a memory leak can cause issues inside the code, sometimes its how fast or a certain way the code is executed, but generally is noticed when it causes lag. If they also mess with the FPS controlers, it could impact it as well, could also be Adobe Flash itself.

Memory Leaks - Causing server issues within Tanki (Theory)
jdc20181 replied to jdc20181 in Memory Leaks - Causing server issues within Tanki (Theory) Archive
Might be a good idea to run some tests on the code behind tanki, because from what I can tell, I have narrowed it down, and it seems there is a memory leak. Just imagine the amount of CPU the server is using - It is probably unbearable, so the lag becomes reality, it seems to be patched regularly usually by a simple server restart - making the resources processes drop back down, but seems to return during the day. During memory leaks on the server side of a application, performance of the code could be reduced creating small and annoying bugs - If a memory leak is fixed - some of the issues such as lag could be resolved. FAQ: Other Games that experience this type of issue connected to FPS (that support my theory) (I will add more info as I find it) Remember this is just a theory and pretty much for those who understand what it is, and its impacts. Thanks P.s this is mainly for research to give to devs to fix the issue
