OMG! 1st of all - Happy Birthday #2 to the Happy Dragons. I've been here almost the whole time, less 1 or 2 months. As I go to reflect for a moment, the guys and gals that have called this place home are all friends. Some new, some old, some not around anymore (God rest their cute little tanks). Know it or not, believe or not, but I believe we have all helped each other through at least 1 major life event over the past 2 years. Been around to appreciate or congratulate successes, or rankings ... or to provide a soft shoulder to lean on when it was needed too. Thank you, to each and everyone of you, for all you have done to help make my life complete. For your friendship in and around the game. I can't even begin to list all the important people here - but you know who u r ... 2nd - whoa - over 2,000 pages. I'm not even gonna try and catch up on the last 300 or 400 messages! I can't say I didn't believe it could happen. We do have, ofc, the original #SpammBrozz!! AND WE ARE THE HAPPY DRAGONS!! LONG LIVE H.D.!!! Love you all!! ~LL

Gnat et al, not sure if going on about cats playing or doing Gold Rains is completely logical. HOWEVER, if we consider the use of cat methodology to our style of Tanki play, kind of like a Crouching Tiger / Hidden Dragon theory, that would be in my mind, rather possible. However, sadly, I have not had a cat in almost 30 years, so my cat style tactics could be out of date, and neither Tanki or the internet was even really around, for me to think about this at that time. Tell me, what are current millenial cats like - and how can we make their theory work to our advantage in a tournament?

Does anyone have a close relationship with the mods, or ppl at TO HQ? Although I doubt it, rules do sometimes change over time... Thx for the chuckles this morning, hadn't logged into Forum in a couple of days and was FLABBERGASTED that I needed extra time to catch up on pages and pages... You may, you may not be. You are Qfu, you are Tofu, you are meaning more and more every day in my heart. Hey Fleety! Ur so awesome bro...! Thx for the life update! The first poem, Walt Whitman - interesting, since I just finished watching Season 5 of Breaking Bad recently on Netflix, and that book of poems was the undoing of our other favorite W.W. -> Walter White ... Heisenberg ... The Cook. The last poem from RK, that's a classic. Not sure I remember seeing the whole thing before, but I've heard and recognize so many verses from it! The middle two - life, what ifs, what to focus your energy on. It's a choice. You can make it. You can decide not to worry. - Thanks for sending them all along!! You know ... so I was on my way to work today, sun is up, and it's like 10C (50F) - feels warm for Canada in February - so I'm feeling good. Song comes on in the car, from my phone... and old favorite from last year, still a current like - upbeat music. Good memories! You, Abs, BD30, Kaiser, and even DoS before he disappeared for a while. Even JaneDoe, the reason I started writing the first post of this series. April 1 is coming up on my 2nd anniversary on Tanki, so a year ago I was anxiously hitting 1 year! SONG = DJ Tiesto - On My Way: It goes like this: I ain't no millionaire, but I'm on my way. Can't find love, but hell, I'm on my way. When the world gets heavy, you might hear me say - I'm on my way! There's a little devil in us all, swear everybody in this town, just wants to see you fall. Baby, it's not fun, so know, it's just a game. Keep running out of love, and I don't go giving up, when I'm running out of love. Let's say I've had enough, and I don't go giving up, I said it all before... I ain't no millionaire, but I'm on my way. Can't find love, but hell, I'm on my way. When the world gets heavy, you might hear me say - I'm on my way! Starts me thinking ... why did I like this song...? It's got a nice beat, and it's a nice message. No matter what crap is coming at me, I'm just gonna keep going! Missing love, don't got enough money, heavy issues going on ... doesn't matter - still on my way. Reminded me of some positive times when I lived in the Bahamas. The common response to Hi, how are you today? Was "Right here, mon - I'm right here". That said to me - I'm here, I'm alive, crap of life doesn't get me down, I'm here, and I'm talking to you, and all is good. Right here, mon! Peace out! ~LL.

Good luck on those issues RtG, whatever they may be! In a "Leave Of Absence", at least you should at least not be kicked for inactivity. LOA approved. PS - usually you'd have to play in order to move up the chain from Dragonet to Dragon... that ... and make sure the PageMaster [#AllHailTheKaiser] remembers to make the change... In other news, I have about 7K exp to go until Commander ... likely later this week. Worried about another accidental ranking, with this war stuff going on. Thursday if still going at about 3K per day like today, to get my 200 kills in for the EN Faction. Hope to make it a time that people are around ... although I don't have any golds in my pocket at the moment.

Thanks @ThirdOnion!... hey, curious why the 3rd onion name? I really like onions, especially fried, but after the 1st, I'm usually good... JOB HELP / INTERVIEWS? So I had mentioned to someone that I was looking to hire a new person. Forget the fact that she is a pretty blond 24yo that has played ice hockey and roller hockey internationally (North America / Europe / Asia)... I have watched her train, and come back repeatedly to the gym where we work out. If you come back to this place after the 1st visit, you have to have some sort of mental stamina to push through the physical stresses they put us in... - back to topic - The questions came = How does this hiring thing work? Of course there's an interview, but is there like a vote or something? This isn't rocket science, but possibly helpful to someone in the future. Since we are all Tanki Brothers & Sisters here, figured I could share the inside scoop. ANSWER: You need to get noticed to get a job. Have the best marks coming out of school, have volunteered in an organization (church/temple/FeedTheHomeless/charity) - especially if the president supports it and thus you have met them already, or you need to know someone through something - family/sports/etc. The hiring manager (person who you will "report" to [like ur teacher]) is the one who gets most of the "vote", if you could say that there even is a vote. They, if smart, want other opinions - like from the Human Resources team, their boss, etc. So you will likely meet 2 or 3 or 4 people. If you get in the door for an interview, they have already decided that you have the qualifications to do the job, so don't sweat about that part. They have narrowed your resume from 100's or 1000's down to 10 or 20. Now they just want to see your personality, how you would fit, that you can speak intelligently... that you 'present' nicely. Confidence is good, but there is a fine line to being pompous ass that they will scratch out... Just be the best cleaned-up version of yourself, and if it is the right place for you to be, at the right time, then it will work out! Good Luck!!! ~LL. B)

    About Life

I've got you beat by another couple of decades. I'll always say life gets better every year, in some way shape or form. Childhood, teens, college, 20s and starting working, getting married, having kids, watching kids grow, getting fired, divorce, parents dying, etc. Not everything that happens will be positive, but there will be learning opportunities that grow out of the hardship. And if you can focus on the good, and the efforts to make your life around you better, then you come out of it with a better year than the last (on average at least, some years you can just be happy they are done). Absolutely. No use in regret. There was a reason for something happening. I believe in the fates. It may take 1 or 5 or 10 or 20 years to understand it. And yup, writing (at least for you and me) can really help release stress, figure out a few things about what is happening around us. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to chat. ~LL.

How 2 Stay Happy So was randomly chatting with someone who read these posts, and got these questions thrown out to me: How do you manage to stay so happy and cheerful at all times? To be honest with myself, I'm mostly a cynical, sad guy. I mostly find myself questioning, why bother doing anything? Why does anything even matter? Well, the first one is a pretty bold thought. I could definitely find an argument in the “at all times” portion. However, and I forget how much I may have already written exactly on the subject, I think it boils down to a few key things. - Life is, as it was meant to be, and so it shall continue to be. - We have the choice to define how we interpret what happens around us. - Garbage will happen all the time, why get hung up on it. - It’s good to have some goals in life. When things suck, do you want to complain about it and be the victim all the time? Why? Doesn’t that get tiring? Instead, decide on something that you can control around you and try to make it better. In a circle of friends, or a group of co-workers, people will usually be complaining about something. Sit back and decide what you can do about it. Anything? Especially if it is the SAME thing again and again, bugging multiple people every week or month, this has an opportunity to Add Value written all over it! I had decided a long time ago that I liked helping people and solving problems. Luckily, those go well together. You don’t need to have the same focus in life – but you DO need to figure out what makes you happy. Because you are more likely to succeed if you decide what you enjoy and do well. RE the age old question of “WHY BOTHER?”.… Dude, every person / teen hits this. And it recurs again and again throughout life, just hopefully with less frequency and severity as you get older. Again, this is where some goals can come into play. It is really cool to have a SMART goal (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMART_criteria) and then find out you have achieved it. Whether it be with a school class that is hard, meeting a girl (or boy), personal body image, work projects, etc. When you find out you can do just about anything you put your mind to, with the right hard work / effort and coaching or research … MAN..! it feels awesome to succeed. Then you start thinking of what you could do next. But beware, a lot of people trying to make S.M.A.R.T. goals are really going about it rather DUMB. No acronym for that, just plain old dumb. You can drive really fast, but be going in the wrong direction. Stop and look and listen to those around you. Accept information as gifts. Be open to learning how to be better, and not just think you are the best already. Learning is a lifelong process. Take it easy and enjoy! ~LL.

Thanks [member=trooll] for your comment!! Ya, breaking up is usually MUCH easier when you are the one who has decided to make it happen. But some day, at some point, it will be the girl who decides for you. Don't fear the upcoming gut-wrenching agony. It helps build us up to be better... :P Girls think differently than guys. I constantly am trying to figure out how to break this to my daughter. Life isn't the Disney princess story. Relationships take work, commitment, mutual respect, and caring enough to have good communications back and forth. But honestly, I wouldn't worry about it until you are in College / University, where people will start to find their potentially lifelong partners. Meet different people with different ideas and views, and see what you can learn about the types of people you mesh the best with! Aaaah, young loves... so wide-eyed and fresh. I'd love to say more - but - well - just know that time changes things. And if you want a relationship to work beyond days and weeks and months, to years or decades - it will morph into something new, and both people need to stay committed to working on it.

    Luscious Limmy's GUIDE TO LIFE

YOUNG LOVE... So I had the question from a Clan friend ... wondering about romance around 14/15/16 years old. Although there is really no right or wrong answer to this, or to anything for that fact, life is about learning and getting new perspectives. Would love to hear YOUR thoughts on this too (cuz my kids are just entering this phase of their lives)!! My thoughts: A romance is what you do with it. Every day is a new day, with new turns, that create connections or consequences. Love is a pretty deep subject, and everyone can have different interpretations of what the "right love" will look like. Its perfectly normal to have a crush on someone. Cool to get to know them in a new and unique way. Just be prepared for the gut wrenching heartache that comes along with the first ever breakup. Cuz they do happen. Even the 15yo sweethearts that got married in their 20's and had kids ... sometime in their 30's start to realize that they just never had the chance to grow up on their own, and then breakup. Life is about the experiences, the personal growth, the confidence in yourself, how you can help others be confident. Know what makes you happy, and search that out. But be prepared for the breakup. Breaking up and making sure everyone can save face is important. You just never realize how small the world can be, and how the people you meet along the way "may" have the chance to impact your future... Respect.

    Luscious Limmy's GUIDE TO LIFE

LIFE AND ALTERNATE REALITIES I started typing to a Tanki friend of mine, but then thought no. If you are a teen, enjoy your life. Us old farts carry experience (or some may call it baggage), for better or for worse. I don't need to lay it on people, but I think there is a message here, themed in with the earlier LIES story. Here I was rebounding from my first online friendship that got cut off middle of last year, and some people come bouncing in with big secrets, that I am interested in talking with and helping. After we've been playing lots, to be honest, I can't appreciate it all right now. Why, because sometimes their lives sound so crazy it doesn't even sound real. There are people where I've shared pics of myself, my family, ... but always holding back some information... because of trust... or a slight lack of. I just honestly have this little bit of uncertainty. Sorry. As you age, you can call it professional skepticism. Trust but verify. So one night I was talking about a Tanki friend to my family. I was saying after a dinner or something - don't complain about what you have or don't have here. I know someone online from Tanki. Great player I know for sure. [..and I had to say..] "supposedly" a teenager from India. This person has had a rough life, yet still keeps pushing on. I won't go into all of the gory details, you each know your stories. I've listened to those I consider friends. I care. I want to believe everything. Really. I wish I could help in some way too. Really. But as I was just reflecting back, there is sometimes nothing I have that could be considered proof... beyond the words repeated. It's weird. Makes me think about life in other ways too - news / relationships with food / interactions with other people. We receive what people want us to hear, what people want to market and profit from. There are few people that you can open your heart and bare your soul to. The insiders, the trust. It was so much easier growing up. Family, parents, community. Even the world I grew up in has changed. People have become more materialistic, me-focused, and less direct contact because of the social possibilities via the internet. I'm chuckling a little inside, cuz this is the exact opposite of what I was writing yesterday here in the GUIDE TO LIFE... But, I guess that is life too. There are options and alternatives to everything. To better understand, to learn, gives us better insights and knowledge and abilities. But I got tired last night. Of many things. Life isn't always rosy - but that's OK - because we all have ups and downs. I also know deep inside, that it all gets better. And I like to believe that too for whenever the end of my days shall arrive ... that there is something better waiting for me out there. Sorry, I needed to vent my own confusions. Tomorrow is a new day, and it will be a great one! Why? ... because I have decided to make it so. I really hope my friends that I've shared with are the people I have believed they are. If anyone reading this has been "modifying" any truths along the way - this year is the come clean time please - no repercussions or faults laid out. It's the internet, we don't know people really, I get it, and I've done it before too. But if we've interacted for a long time now, I just want to know if you are the you I have come to know. It's a New Year!!! New Possibilies!!! New Dreams to be made realities!!! I appreciate the people I have met here in Tanki. And if I may make special mention to the first one that opened my eyes to the community, via the Happy Dragons Clan, inviting me in from a random application post, @DragonOfStorms - thank you. ~ LL.

    Luscious Limmy's GUIDE TO LIFE

Life, 2018, a New Year I was just chatting to some of my Tanki buds in Discord (& Skype), as they were reflecting on 2017 - whether it was good or bad. I don't know why, but I just had to respond, and thought then that it would make a reasonable post here. Why, cuz it is a New Year - with New Beginnings and New Opportunities. A chance to make a New You. And yes, that is "your" decision ... how you wish to respond to what is going on around you. Don't blame others ... don't become the victim ... What can I say, I'm a sucker for wanting to try and make the world a better place, to see happiness wherever I go. _______ I can't say I completely understand depression, as a medical condition. However, I have certainly had moments of deep sadness over the years. Many. What I have learned though, our minds can control anything. If we want to, we can control what we let in, how we process it, and what we decide to think of it. In reality, it is already going on in the back of your mind ... it is just a matter of making it YOUR decision rather than an AUTO decision. There were a number of different things that solidified this mentality, but certainly the best ones were where I made positive change. Most particularly on an external side, it was with my body. Then I could see it, believe it, and internalize it from there. I look better than I ever have (maybe just a bit older), and am stronger / better in so many ways. The important thing I have learned - set goals. Focus on learning how to achieve them - reading, listening to others. But also know that when you start to think everyone is an expert, in reality no one is. They are all just trying to get by. That in and of itself is a warming thought - cuz then you and I aren't really behind the bell curve on much. Know that achieving a goal is hard work, takes dedication, and that the journey is part of the reward ... even if it is tough. Every year of life gets better in some new way. Many in ways you will not actually understand until 5-10-20 years or more into the future. That's actually part of the joy of life, I guess. the journey, the learning, the people that you meet, the experiences you have... even when they are not all rainbows and unicorn types. Embrace the bad, and just focus on being better, in some way, shape or form. If you, or anyone, ever want to ping ideas off me, feel free to PM. I'll be here as much as I can. Happy New Year ~ Luscious Limmy.
