This is the number of stars obtained to defend the capital. When a territory is attacked, TO will compare the number of stars of the attacking faction against the number of stars from the defending faction. The highest number win. If defending faction number is bigger, the attacked fail and the territory stay. If attacking faction number is bigger, the attacked succeeded and the territory is lost to the attackers.

The 2 first turns will be the same, after that every turn will be different with little time to react to the new factions placement, so expect some difficulty to align so many people. You should create a topic in the War Room section to start to organise your faction.Don't forget also that 60%+ of the player are Russian and will decide a strategy in the Russian forum, so you will need to keep an eye over there. Lets collect all the turn option from today here: Which Territory did you vote to Attack on the first Turn? and then compare with tomorrow factions' progression. GL

If you take in the early hour of the game one territory it will bring you one more point per turn. If you hold it for 10 turns then it will bring you 10 victory points. If you get 6 territories in the first round it will accumulate 60 Victory points in ten turns. While you want to take only one territory which will bring you only 10 victory points after 10 turns. Therefore you just dismissed 50 easy victory points. Think about it. 3 territories with one victory point = one territory with 3 victory points. Later (Starting on Turn 3) you can chose to focus most of the player votes on one territory but right now you have opportunity to expend as much as you can. This war is about territory Domination.

No worries. We both got it wrong (I think). My explanation was a short cut to explain something complicated but lead to more confusion on something else which was not clear. Now that the discussion lead to a clearer information and swiped away the confusion, we can play with a better peace of mind.

Impluse is a developers which is part of the WAR project. He cannot be wrong. The translation and writing of the rules is not an easy task and a small word can make all the difference. Anyway, this would not have changed the way you would have played the game. It just clarifies how the 5 stars are counted in the total or not. What I think they meant to say was, that until you get 5 stars they would not be counted in the faction progress, therefore once you reach fives stars your vote is counted and all stars (5 for voting and all NEW stars) are counted in the faction progress for the player who voted on the same territory as you. It's easy to get confused. Now we can move on and enjoy the game.
