You shouldn't be upgrading M1 or even M2 unless necessary. Only upgrade M3 to M4, otherwise it is a waste of crystals. You can create your own battles anytime you want just like we can do but those maps will just not count towards missions so if you want to finish your daily missions, you gotta do them by choosing one of the mach making system formats such as CP,CTF,DM,TDM.

Holy mother, you got Freeze M2 so what in the world you waiting for? MU it one at a time till you do it fully, never use speed-ups and you pretty much good to go so focus on your Hulls from now on and play more in close or small maps such as Island, Highland, Ping-Pong, Sandbox and so on and you will be unstopable. Keep in mind that with your Freeze M2, you can wipe out an entire team in Polygon CP, just wait till they all get in there and sneak behind them... 10 kills and a capture. Unlimited experience.

This should have been fixed but it seems like it is still around but way too rare, not as much as before. I will forward but but in the meantime clearing the catch can be a bit annoying as you will be loading everything from scratch so I would suggest you to wait a little bit or refresh.
