That isn't the purpose of the test server, but nothing's preventing you from testing equipment under the limited conditions. Nothing more than that. The method works if you have 0 Gold Boxes, there's no need to drop any. However, I've heard that the glitch has been fixed and no longer works. (I don't play the test server myself, so I don't know if that's true)

The test server isn't meant for testing equipment. It exists for testing new updates and finding bugs in them. The shop is only open if a shop update is being tested.

I heard that logging into the mobile version of the game might work, so you can try it. (I'm not sure if it works because I didn't experience this bug myself)

As far as I know, this isn't known to the public, but maybe something can be found on the Alternativa website. Hazel (Opex-Rah/Semyon Strizhak) is the lead game designer (the one who makes new updates), but I don't think he controls the whole company.
