It never happened to me, or maybe I just didn't notice but I will test it.

Only certain players will get a prize.

I am pretty sure this is a bug - sometimes when I join a battle, all the bushes are gone but when I join the next battle the bushes are back (I do not change anything in my settings)

Yesterday I got the 'Armor-Piercing Salvo' augment for Gauss. It is really good, even overpowered if used correctly but many of my kills get stolen.
