I don't think normal containers should be remove from the challenge, I'd replace some of them (at the higher tiers) with ultra containers.

In order to complete the challenge more easily, stars were added to daily & weekly missions. If you login everyday and complete all the daily and weekly missions during a challenge, you automatically complete the challenge. [More Info]

Yes, kits are available for crystals as well as tankoins. However, your chances to get a crystals kit in the shop are much lower. You can find the list of all product kits here.

These symbols are called "Status Effects" - they are obtainable with drones. You can view the list of all of them here.
