Ultimate guide to Skyscrapers By CalofGearva Hello Tankers! This is calofGearva, And I will be telling you tips and tricks for playing effectively in Skyscrapers, one of my favorite maps. I will be explaining Different tactics for all turrets, Tips for every gamemode, tips for playing xp/bp and Tips for catching gold boxes! Lets start with tips and tactics for turrets. Firebird Firebird is not the most ideal turret for skyscrapers, but it can still be used effectively with a few tactics. Firebird tactics Circular strafing Circular strafing involves driving in circles around your enemy so you take little or no damage, while still destroying them effectively. This tactic can for the most part not be down in the lower levels of Skyscrapers, bu can be done on most of the building with paths wider than 5 meters (5 meters = one unit in-game). Corpse shield Using a "corpse shield", as I call it, is the art of using the dead shell of a tank as a temporary shield. You could us this tactic for multiple reasons: Waiting until your repair kit or other supply recharged, for example. Freeze Freeze is a very dynamic and interesting turret, and paired with an interestinly designed map like skyscrapers, it proves for some very fluid gameplay. Freeze should be mainly used in the lower sections of the map. Freeze Tactics Circular starfing See above in "Firebird tactics" Corpse shield See above in "Firebird Tactics" Isida Isida's gameplay in skyscrapers is much like Freeze and Firebird's gameplay, but the healing effect is obviously a game changer in team matches in skyscrapers, so the only point and tactic that is different from firebird and freeze is to use the healing to the best of your ability, all the time. That is crucial if you would like to win the match. Hammer Hammer became a very dynamic turret after it's ricochet effect was added, so either practice with that bounce alot (slower but more effective method), of take out your ricochet and practice with that. Gameplay with Hammer on skyscrapers is really dependent on What hul you are using, but the basics are that if you are using a light hull, stay in the lower section of the map, but if you are using a medium or heavy hull, you can, for the most part, stay near the top of the map, except if there are a lot of shafts or railguns around, which in that case the lower areas are much safer for you. Hammer Tactics Peek-A-Boo! This simply involves you popping out from behind a wall just long enough to get a shot off at a nearby enemy, and before anyone can fire at you. The best hull for this tactic is wasp, being that it is the fastes hull in the game, ad that the turret is offset, or not centered, on the hull. Ricochet Though difficult to use on skyscrapers, if used correctly, it can be a complete and utter death machine on the battle field. Ricochet should mostly stay in the lower levels of the map, where the ricochet effect is most useful and effective. Ricochet Tactics "Rolling on the edge" This is what I call the act of going up up a ramp, pullin back abruptly on the top edge of ramp so your turret levels out at 90 degrees, fire off one or two shots, and popping back into cover so the enemy can not fire at you. Ramping This is when you balance or jump off the edge of a ramp, wait until the angle of your turret is just right so you can fire at an unreachable enemy much higher or lower than you. Twins Twins gameplay in Skyscrapers mostly includes knocking off other tank's aim so you can destroy them, and constantly moving around the map, but don't forget about twins slight splash damage! Smoky see "Twins" above Thunder Thunder gameplay in Skyscrapers is much like ricochet, as the two turrets both have a method to shoot around corners, and are very similar turrets. Most ricochet tactics can also be use withthunder quite effectively. Railgun See "Thunder" and "Ricochet" above Shaft Shaft has very interesting gameplay in skyscrapers if you are not camping, or you are being a "mobile sniper". Usually most shafts want to stay away from the lower areas of the map, except if they are absolute pros with arcade shot, which is possible to learn. You should try to stay near where thenred flag is, bein that thereis a double damage box riight there for the taking. another good spot is on the tallest building in the map, next to the blue flag. The only passage leading up to that building is only one unit wide and can be easily mined. Shaft tactics See "Ricochet Tactics" above Vulcan Vulcan's gameplay proves to be much like Shaft's gameplay, so go check out "Shaft" above. Striker See "Shaft" above Magnum There are a few buildings which magnum can effectively hide behind and defend, but yoou should avoid going into the lower levels or moving around alot, being that Magnum's slow reload speed and no rotation of turret can destroy you. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Skyscrapers Gameplay and tips in different Gamemodes DM Skyscrapers DM can prove, at the least, Hectic. Even though you may think that skyscrapers is a moderately sized map, but it can support alot of players, 20 to be exact. Usually you will want to use short range turrets such as Firebird, freeze, or hammer on the lower section of the map, and mostly medium range turrets such as Thunder, Ricochet, Vulcan, or Twins on on the upper section of the map. You can use Long range turrets such as shaft, but it is very difficult if you are not used to fighting close combat with your shaft or railgun. When moving around alot without wasting your own supplies, you will need to know where all the supply box drops are. TDM Skyscrapers TDM is definetly much less hectic than DM, because you have half as many enemies to worry about. Other than that, the playstyle is mostly the same as DM. CP There are only 3 Points in Skyscrapers, contrary to it's size. The only point on the blue side is completely blocked by a wall on the red team's side, so the blu team does have more cover than the red team, showing that shafts on the red team are slightly less effective than shafts on the blue team, which can use the Peek-A-Boo tactic. The second Point on the red team's side is has slight cover from a small wall, where red shafts can use the Peek-A-Boo tactic effectively. CTF Skyscrapers CTF definetly proves for a dynamicand at the least interesting game. Both flags are out in the open, but the red flag is more easily defended, while there is one more route to the red flag, so it may be actually harrder to defend. _______________________________________________________________________ xp/bp Even though it may not be common, It definetly plays through as an interesting battle. Ussually the safest routes are the lower section of the map, or what I call "the Maze". The downside of this route is that you can very easily get lost if you have not memorized your route. For the higher sections, If you are playing bp, you might be fast enough to avoid being destroyed, or even taking damage on your way there. The key to escaping and capturing the flag in one piece is to be able to make impossibly long jump from one. platform to another. The jump need to be long enough so your pursuers will think twice about following you. Of course, all of these tactics can be transferred to normal Skyscraper CTF matches, especial the jumping tactic. Gold Box Catching in Skyscrapers These are all the known gold drops in Skyscrapers. Most drops in Skyscrapers will not hve any platforms directly above the drop, so the box will not just appear, but actually drop.

    Ideas for Game Modes!

:) Hello Tanki, so I really love using shaft and I am not very good at Xp/Bp, so then I was thinking, well, wouldn't it be kind of funny if there were like twenty shafts facing of against each other  ! So then that gave me the idea about making a SN format battle, in which all players would have to use shaft/viking combo! I think would be fun for players, because all these shafts in sniping mode would have to destroy each other, but after the destroyed tank respawned, it would know where that shaft was hiding so everyone would have to be constantly moving around. You are probably thinking this would be a boring battle, but I myself think of myself as a more mobile shaft, so it requires more skill and sneaking around  . This is the purpose I choose viking as the hull instead of something like mammoth, where it would be boring. You could also use M1, M2, or M3 shaft and vikings, so lower ranks like me wouldn't be left out. I hope you like this idea, Tanki, because I am proud of this brain child :D .
  9. Will you be making bombard turret you discussed in a recent V-Log? If not, why?
