TO are referring to it as a "Themed Challenge — Gender WAR" but the only prize is an animated paint. No tiers, no other prizes than an animated paint? So you want us to battle for an entire month..... for a paint?

There will be many imposters...

Got this from today's weekly container.

Thanks for the translation. :)

Hate to break it to you, but... not a dude. Clue is in the name. ;) Is there a translation for the rest of your post?

That's why I said in certain situations it will get you killed. You have to allow for what it can do, which is lay down a burst of fire that can be more concentrated in the way you use it, such as the surprise Splash n Dash method. What it can't do is be a replacement for situations you'd use Stabilised Plasma in, as the shots are slow and your opponent will land a few on you before yours land on him. There are two other advantages with Heavy Plasma: 1. In CTF you can lay down a barrage of shots in deflection to stop a flag-stealer getting away with your flag. 2. If you are killed, any shots you've already launched will often kill your opponent anyway, getting you a kill you wouldn't have gotten with a "live" shot.

Valid Replace Supply Rewards with Supply Currency
Nicola_M replied to AbsoluteZero in Ideas and Suggestions
I fully support this idea. At least it would stop the insanity of what I got for doing over 150 stars yesterday: 125 SB, 4x 125 DD and 7k crystals. If the container rewards can't be made random so that you only collect different items per container, then yes a currency is a fairer option.- 40 replies

Tier 40 containers, in order 125 SB 125 DD 125 DD 3,500 crystals 125 DD 125 DD 3,500 crystals That sucks. I think that is the final Challenge, tier, War, Daily Mission or container I'm bothering with, as the rewards are an insult for the time and effort, not to mention the cost for Premium and supplies. Which makes it very difficult to see any point continuing. I think I've reached the point where I frankly don't give a toss any more. When rewards suck that badly, it's time to go.

Yes, it works best on maps like Cologne, Serpuhov, Alexandrovsk where there's a flat area you can dash at the enemy while firing when they don't expect it. The shock value is what I find so fun - when they finally notice you coming, and about fifty* shots already landing on them, most are too shocked to try to run or get out of the way. What I meant about it being slow, in close/mid range from the time you fire to the time your shots land the enemy e.g. rico has already landed 2 or 3 shots on you. I find it's best as a surprise weapon (Splash n Dash, and DM against 2 hulls already preocupied fighting each other) and occasionally for CTF where I can lay down enough shots to stop enemies coming through an archway (Cologne, Wolftenstein). Out in the open I think it can be a liability in some battles and for that I change to Stabilised Plasma, where my favourite trick is to pin enemies to walls with the hull while firing, often to stop them getting away with the flag. Accelerators is a good all-rounder but I like it for CTF battles, as it can make flag-catchers miss the flag and if they're Wasps it can turn them into a wall. I miss the days when I could flip hulls with it. * Fifty shots is probably an exaggeration, but one can lay a stream of quite a few.

The price I didn't know, as once you've bought it the price is no longer find-able in the garage, so thanks for that. Yes, speed is reduced. Not being pedantic, but to all intents and purposes it fires slowly. Expect it to fire like the rest of the alts for Twins, and it'll get you killed in no time.

Is there anything to suggest drones aren't? MUs and Speedups don't happen till tomorrow (Sunday).

That brings back memories. When I was an 80s teen you were either a fan of Spandau Ballet or Duran Duran. I was a Durannie. I was also into the Thompson Twins, so I was double un-trendy. :P

I don't think there are that many of us (women) so (like the War factions) many men will be on either team regardless. Don't know the exact percentage, but I'd bet we are outnumbered many times over so the Mens side would easily beat us on numbers alone otherwise.

I must be really sad. Watched Jason Bourne (the 2016 film) last weekend and now can't get enough of the track Moby updated for that film. (Though it helps if you have a DAW you can add more drums into, which really enhances it). edit: And here's my version, so you know what I'm listening to. New snares, bassdrum and hi-hats added over the top with Reason, along with some reverb, as I felt they were a bit lost in the original. The original wav has also had two passes through Amp, Compressor and Eq. http://www.mediafire.com/file/uiz17770metj5tg/BOURNE.mp3/file

There is another side - being pulled into a game where you're on the winning side, and the other team is outnumbered and losing. e.g. A day or so ago I got put on a Magistral CP in the blue team - 5 or 6 of us - and we had two CP points already. The red team had only three players (Vulcan and 2x Isidas), and they sat on the one remaining CP and refused to leave it to claim another.

Thank you to the Mods for swift action. Appreciated, even if I don't say so often enough.

I think so. It comes in handy on some of the larger maps (Cologne) where I use it for Splash n Dash - speed towards an unsuspecting enemy while firing from a distance away. Before they know you're there, a steady stream of about 50 shots is already landing on them. It's also good for DM if you target two players fighting, and you'll kill them both - one directly, the other with splash damage. As a closeup weapon it could get you killed as it's firing rate is very slow, and self-damage is a PITA if team mates get too close. But all of the Twins alts have their good points and the Plasmagun is handy to have. PS Don't pay 60K - get it this weekend for 45K or next weekend in the Iron Day sale at probably 40K or less.
-
Isn't it just? I couldn't have got dead-on the thousand marks if I had tried intentionally. :P PS re-send me your friend request again - I refreshed the page and lost it. edit: nvm, found it and accepted now.

So, the sole prize is one animated paint - and many (below the average score) (on the winning team) won't even get that? <_< Challenges suddenly are a better deal.

Firefox is quite good compared to Chrome for me. I use FF 50 and Tanki runs really well. On Chrome (49.0.2623.112) the picture is grainy and bitty. I don't know what impact HTML5 will have on older FFs but a forced move to Chrome would be unplayable.

The only ones I'm seeing in battle come at me head-on mid-range, knowing their impact makes it very hard for Viking/Twins to maintain aim. Even with 7/15 Lion it's game over for me every time, so MUing that mod is my priority at the mo. About the only thing that takes them out is the Heavy Plasma gun, but it's so slow delivering shots I'm already dead but at least I get the satisfaction of seeing roast rico.

I'm finding Ricochet to be the most troublesome lately. It seems to be a pattern, in December Hammer Duplets were everywhere, then Striker and since some of them got either a nerf or a less-than-great update more and more are using Ricochet now. Trying to MU my modules to compensate is a bit of a nightmare.
