Oh yeah stupid me, Viking's the reason Gauss takes forever to lock onto anything. Nothing at all to do with how crap Gauss is.
-
That's the result of two thousand years of evolution? <_<
-
That's my issue with it... it keeps resetting because it's difficult to reacquire the target within 1sec. It could really have done with the scope view like sniper has. And cut the time it takes to acquire lock Drugging Gauss Viking here.... getting slaughtered. <_<
-
At which point in that curve will Lock actually work faster? So far, Gauss's very slow lock has seen me lose kills from: 1. the target moving a few feet to the side, so lock has to start again instead of continuing lock before the target moved 2. other players killing my target while I sit there waiting for lock to wake the f up 3 being killed while waiting for lock to wake the f up In the last day, Gauss has got me killed more than it's got me kills. It's a liability for me, frankly. I wouldn't want a team with Gauss on it.
-
They're both too long imo.

I just bought Gauss M3 with today's restart. First impressions, it's ridiculously slow to acquire aim lock - the exact same thing I hated Striker for - and the target only has to move a few feet to the side and you have to start over. Why can't it be an accumulative lock? The alternative is Arcade mode, which deals pathetically low damage. In short, it's a waste of 239,000 crystals.

Hehehe, the -only- time I tried it against a Titan with my Viking..... didn't go well.
-
I do that if I'm using the Stabilised Plasma alt. But I usually ram from the side and then continue driving forward and turning while firing, this spins the enemy around and usually they react by trying to get away (which isn't possible).* Few bother to turn their turret and shoot back. * Obvs this tactic doesn't work too well on Mammoths and Titans. :P

Thanks Shirley. <_< HTML5 may well work on xp, but that depends on the browser and which variant. I did find a link to a workaround which demonstrates HTML5 doesn't work natively on Firefox http://wp.xin.at/archives/4059 else you wouldn't need a workaround. Not only is that specifically about getting H264 videos to play in HTML5 on xp (not getting HTML5 working), but the workaround could easily leave one with a very unwell Firefox. Would the Client be a better option than relying on a browser for HTML5?

Only if you don't know what situations it has advantages in. If you're going to use it as a general melee weapon, yes it's a failure because it fires so slowly compared to Twins' other alts and it will get you killed, either from self-damage or from faster-firing weapons. True. I found where it does have an advantage is that it deals more damage per shot than the other Twins alts. I can kill heavy hulls head-on with it. Second, if you plan ahead, it makes an excellent surprise weapon. I often speed towards an enemy and start firing at them from about 10 tank lengths away. By the time they've heard/seen/noticed me, they have a LOT of slow-moving projectiles about to land on them. Splash damage helps, although it has limited range I found it easier to make multiple kills with plasmagun in DM battles rather than CTF where the enemy has nothing better to do than look for you. In DM battles plasmagun will take out two enemies fighting each other. It is also useful for CP battles where you can hit groups of enemies sat waiting on a Capture Point. And less specifically, it's handy for emptying the space where a gold box is about to land. :P Although Thunder or a Mammoth OD will do that just as well. I agree. Stabilised Plasma should have been the stock Twins. Also useful for making it difficult for enemies to aim at you, and also for making it difficult for Wasps to get anywhere near a flag in CTFs.

From the link you provided: That's an important word.... latest. Which doesn't mean it -will- work if you are using Windows XP or the last available Firefox for WinXP (50.1.0) which is what I got. Those of us using older Operating Systems (and the older browser versions they require) may well find ourselves locked out of the game when Tanki goes html5 unless we buy a new computer with a newer OS that will accept the "latest" browsers. Meaning, html5 isn't good news for everyone.
-
I wish I could rely on it. I have IE8 and most of the time I can't get it to connect, even though the Firefox and Chrome I also have installed manage to connect happily to the internet. It's not about apportioning blame, more about concerns some of us may "disappear" because the available mediums may not physically work.

So Hornet's overdrive should cancel out any Owl modules on the map and cancel out all the enemies DAs. Thanks, that what I was looking for.
-
Not looking forward to html5. Guessing that will rule out Firefox for me as it uses Flash, and Chrome don't work too well. Could be losing a few more of us with this...
-
How would Hornet's overdrive work with Gauss? I think Hornet's overdrive cancels out enemies supplies, but is there a range limit on that?
-
Consider the overdrives on those hulls. Viking's overdrive gives you 7 seconds of lots of damage, not sure how that works with freeze. Hunter's overdrive stops dead any enemies in range, you just finish them off with freeze. My advice between those kits is look at what use the overdrive will be.

But nowhere near as laggy as it is now. -
Tier 30 125 SB Spark paint < < < 3,500 crystals 125 SB I already had Zigzag paint. Well, that's tier 40 pointless now... I think if you've already got the rewards for that tier it should be marked as "done" and no stars needed for it. On the upside, that 3,500 crystals means on Saturday I see a Gauss under the Christmas Tree in my garage....
-
I don't get you. LMAO at the clown in the OP. Saying "I am pro" is usually superceded by a big explosion and the "pro" respawning.
-
Nope. Doesn't work. Second thought, things for 2019..... html5 being put back for another five years. Or better still, bin it entirely.
-
I want the bugs, dropouts and the lag sorted out for 2019. Probably too much to expect for 2019.

Maps are too big.... LOL. On some maps you can't move because you're nose-to-nose with another player. Go and try Lost Temple, and then try telling us Sandbox is too big. :P It was great two years ago when we had teams of 20/side. Forty players in a battle. Wasn't crowded, plenty of room to move. Now THAT used to be fun. -
Not to mention it's all on the same maps, over and over. Getting really sick of Polygon and Sandbox.

You're missing out. Both the 2 Chernobyls I had seemed strangely empty compared to how it used to be before MM, shortening the battles and reducing the team sizes. I've tried it on Pro but we don't seem to have a big enough player base any more. I wonder why... I really wish they would just change ALL the current maps for something different for a while. -
Sadly the battle ended before any golds dropped. So we missed out on any demonstration of how "pro" he thinks he is.
