You're forgetting buyers. The whole point of investing in crystals is to upgrade your tank to be better than your opponents' tanks who are of a similar rank.

Two thoughts come to mind: 1. It now seems next-to-imposible for snipers to work on improving their K/D rate as they'll no longer be able to choose a sniper-friendly map and the comfort of their favourite corner. 2. Things are generally going to get very tough for camping snipers. The heat will be on when they find themselves unexpectedly placed on a small map with no cover, being chased around by Isidas, Freeze and Firebirds. 3. What will be the point in players investing money in their tanks when they'll be thrown into battles ONLY with other players have that have done the same? Surely it's now going to make more sense to invest nothing, play with a weaker tank, and take on other players with equally weak tanks? The only point in buying crystals from the shop is to play against same-rank opponents who have weaker tanks than your own. Buying is now pointless.
