    Yes, broadband emitters is good when dealing with op turrets twins and ricochet.It would be nice if there is an alteration that would increase damage and reduce healing. I reckon there was one to be released. 'Attack nanobots' anyone? But maybe that will released in the next nerf/buff cycle and isida will be the new "turret of the month".

    Firebird was made OP the same day freeze was balanced down so probably some other turret will be buffed up when firebird is made as useless as magnum later next year.

    yes, but the high rate of fire coupled with the ridiculous damage will ensure that no enemy can get close to the thunder user. Self-damage is rarely a disadvantage with the prevalence of drones, supplies like DA and repair kits and modules. The only way to defeat him is with using striker, shaft or freeze from behind.

    Attack nanobots for isida. Nanobots are reconfigured to attack mode for better close range effectiveness at the cost of reduced healing ability. Damage + 35% Healing - 50%

    Agreed, but the heating rate must be reduced. It should take minimum 3 seconds to reach max temperature. At m4, basic damage should be around 700 and burning damage can be 200.

    I think the best way to balance firebird is to make it how it was several years ago - with low base damage and moderate burning damage. 1. First, burning damage should only begin after the enemy tank is no longer exposed to the flames. It does not kick in during the exposure to flames. 2. When a firebird shoots at an enemy tank, it deals only the basic damage for the duration of firing. After the firebird stops shooting, burning damage (according to the temperature of the tank) will begin to take effect. If the firebird shoots again during this period, the burning damage will stop immediately and firebird will start dealing only basic damage again. 3. This version will be far more balanced while still making it competitive.

    Maf once said that alteration equipped turrets should theoretically be of same power level as stock version of turrets. But is that what is happening in reality? Alterations make a turret far more powerful than the stock version. The most appropriate example is sledgehammer for thunder. Firstly, the lesser range is not a handicap at all since most matchmaking maps are small or medium and it's easy to get within 50 meters of an enemy and maintain that distance. Secondly, no one sees that it actually increases DPM at all ranges since weak damage is still the same with absolutelyà no side effect at all. And what happened to the unreleased alterations?

    I think the developers are using agile. If so, the fault must lie with the test suites (or whoever designed them). I mean how can they release some update without testing (unit tests, integration tests and whatever extra tests they have). Like in the summer, they over-buffed freeze and they didn't realise that flaw during testing? Mostly their testers are incompetent. They failed to thoroughly test some updates before release. Take the prime example of Alterations. Due to their incompetence, tankers run amok with OP alterations. If this is the quality of their testing process, then who knows what will come of the new overdrives.

    [Issue 82] My Year 2018

    MY YEAR 2018 Hello everyone !! This year 2018 was arguably the biggest year for Tanki Online in terms of number and variety of updates released. 2018 was a landmark year for me for several reasons, one of the foremost being I re-joined TO after a long hiatus this year. I had my fair share of several ups and downs, success and failures and memories both good and bad. When I first logged into my TO account after several years in January 2018, I was bewildered and somewhat overwhelmed by the changes that I faced in battles. I was confused by several things - why the railgun m2 I had equipped dealt so little damage and reloaded much faster, why my smoky m2's critical hits dealt very little damage, what were the white numbers popping out of enemies when I shot at them, what was causing the constant explosions bombarding my base, what was the Super-Saiyan like powerup everyone was getting, etc. This was primarily because I was not up to date with the updates released since 2014. As a result, I slowly began researching the updates that hit the game from 2014 - 2017 using the forum as a resource during which I came to know about a lot of amusing updates. After a good amount of reading, everything seemed to fall in place naturally. I realised that the global update of 2016 was responsible for the abnormalities I encountered when playing with railgun and smoky. I also found out that the white numbers magically rising from my enemies were in fact damage counters and that tankers using a new turret called "Magnum" were behind the frequent explosions on the battlefields. I later induced that the powerups players were getting were actually called overdrives and it was not until much later that I learned how to activate them. How silly of me !!! Catching up with all these new things including the new turrets "Magnum" and "Striker", alterations, paint separation, overdrives and many more was by my own measures one of the highlights of the year for me. I shall first tell about the good things that happened to me in the game in 2018 after all this. My first mission was to restore railgun to how it was prior to 2016. To complete this, I worked hard to earn sufficient amount of crystals and managed to buy the “High Calibre Ammo” alteration as it was called then. With this equipped I got a decent number of kills per battle. I also started playing pro-battles steadily accumulating funds. It was in one of these battles that I was noticed by a player and invited to join the clan Red.Velvet. Fortunately, they were a lot of good sales this year and they happened rather frequently to my pleasant surprise. Taking full advantage of the discounts offered from time to time, I fully micro-upgraded both Viking m2 and railgun m2. Once I reached marshal rank I obtained Viking m3 and railgun m3. I had some memorable experiences with this combination. During the War: Domination event that took place during the summer, I participated, won a lot of containers and got cool rewards. I was very excited because that was the first time I was opening a lot of containers. I had some nice memories of opening those containers. During the war event, atfirst I was only getting either 0 or 1 stars. So I was thrilled the first time I got 2 stars. Right after that, during the Tanker’s day sale in September, I boughtisida m3, magnum m3 and griffon m3. I was very happy because it was the first time I got to use m3 turrets other than railgun so overall that was a superb experience. I enjoyed using both these turrets. Isida m3 also helped me to rack up score quickly and enabled me to earn 3 stars for the first time. 2018 was perhaps the best yearin my career because I ranked up quickly using isida and finally reached the rank of Legend. Yipee!!. All throughout the year I keenly followed the V-LOG and forum news announcements. From October onwards several new updates were released my favourite being the ability to customise protection modules, mission chains and increased experience points for healing with isida. Speaking of missions, I was enthralled when the first time I completed 10 weeks of missions and received the rewards. After the update that distributed funds more fairly among teams, quality of gameplay increased and there were instances where the winning team was decided only in the last few seconds of the match. For example : One interesting thing I learned in 2018 was that the team having more players is not necessarily guaranteed a win. For example : Another fantastic experience for me was receiving the invitation to joinTO Mobile during the mass testing stage. To be honest, I applied late and didn’t expect to receive it so receiving it made my day. More recently, nice features like newer alterations, drones, shot effects, weekly missions and challenges were released. Speaking of all this, I also had the pleasant surprise of opening a container and getting the “snow” shot effect for railgun. I have recently completed the 3rd tier of the challenge and this has also become a very memorable moment for me. One other memorable thing for me was when I played against Flexoo himself in a Tribute rugby match. I am not sure if he remembers me but I remember it very well. He was on the opposing team and his team won by a small margin. Flexoo was using m4 Hunter, m4 Striker with some Helper paint and was incredibly difficult to kill with his 50% Railgun module. I vividly remember him finishing top of his team. But it was a fun match and I couldn't believe that I encountered a helper and that too in a matchmaking battle. It was truly a rare experience. As for bad memories, they were luckily few and far in-between such as that time when I applied to clans and they did not give me a clan tag, facing mults and hackers (especially striker aim hacks), the magnum nerf and of course the longer delay for “Large Calibre Rounds” alteration. I also found it challenging to adjust to the several turret balance changes that took place this year. But I just brushed some of these away, took the others in good spirit and continued to move on. In the remaining few days of the year, I hope to buy “Round Destabilisation” alteration for railgun because I read some discussion that it actually increases the DPM of the turret. Also, because of the lack of variety of turrets in my arsenal, I might buy striker m3 during the upcoming Christmas celebrations. I shall also finally upgrade my viking to m4 as it had stood by me through my joys and sorrows the past year symbolising my resilient and mighty spirit.     Not al all. 5-8 second duration makes railgun practically useless with the overdrive. Maybe a better idea would be to have different duration for different turrets. Like rapid fire weapons have 10 second duration and railgun, shaft, magnum have longer period.

    I dont "mean" or "imply" anything more than what I said. And as far as I am concerned, my statement doesnt imply anything, it is just an ordinary statement. It seems you are not able to understand some statement in just it's own meaning. Let me break it down for you. There are definitely some noobs in the game. No one can deny that. A part of them have 50% protection. So it will be perfect too for slaughtering these subsection of tankers. I didn't mention anything about those outside this group. So why make such "disparaging" implications and get upset about it? The comment doesn't mean and doesnt intend to mean anything less or more than what it is. Again I am asking you not to make your own assumptions and implications based on a short comment. Why do I have imply something. I don't. I simply stated what I wanted to in a concise way. There is no information I give about " killing non-noobs" and "everyone I kill is a noob". Where did you even get that?

    First how did you come to the conclusion that having 50% protection make a noob? It's incredibly stupid to think that. I just said it will a perfect tool for slaughtering noobs having 50% protection. Nothing less nothing more. If you make unnecessary implications and conclusions from this, then it is wholly your fault. It doesnt make sense to make the assumptions you put forward. In fact they have nothing to do with what I said. So I am not the one talking nonsense, you are.So you please grow up and stop your nonsense.

    Thunder is way too overpowered with that stupid new alteration. First, the turret needs severe nerfing like what magnum got in order to be balanced. Next, that alteration needs extra disadvantages like 150% self damage and a range nerf. But I know Maf will decline this idea because of.... maybe she is a thunder fangirl idk. I am waiting for the next nerfing cycle.

    A player should not be forced to use a turret. Modules should never be disabled so that twins, thunder and firebird users will be too powerful compared to railgun and shaft. Protection modules serve to nerf somewhat the OPness of turrets, namely the above three. Without 45%+ protections from those 3 turrets it's practically impossible to stay alive for more than 3-4 seconds. One more thing, not everyone can afford all turrets and there is no such things as useful turrets alone. Any turret can be useful if used skillfully. Now shaft has such high DPS at close range, it can be used like smoky in Polygon CP and you can capture points with it.

    No way. Battles will be overrun with op thunder, twins and firebird. Modules must be permanently enabled to prevent domination by these op turrets. Modules give non buyers some semblance of survivability against m4 turrets. To remove such an ability is an incredibly stupid proposal Very bad idea. I dont support it. --

    The +20% warm up is acceptable if they increase impact force by 20% too. After all its "large" calibre rounds and its absurd to see no impact buff. If they dont plan to increase this stat then they must definitely reduce warm up time

    I want to know which turret is better isida or firebird. I thought that isida will always win in a face to face combat with firebird but this rarely happens. I noticed that firebird by far and large has a much bigger DPS than isida. Having the developers been lying when they said isida has the highest DPS in the game or is there an unfixed bug that lowers isida's damage?
