    Review of New Alterations

    Hello players! I did not see an official thread so I thought I will post myself. This is a thread where you can post your review of the new set of alterations released. You can discuss such things as pros and cons, how the gameplay is different with it, tips to maximise any advantages and strategies to minimise disadvantages that an alteration may provide, etc. This will help other players decide whether an alteration is worth their money. Thank you I have only the Large Caliber Rounds alteration. My review : Advantages: It raises the standard damage per shot of Railgun from average to decent. Having a longer delay means you have extra time to readjust your aim before shooting if someone knocks it off. Disadvantages: Has a very long reload which is worsened by the delay time nerf. Not meant for melee combat. The longer delay can become a burden when trying to engage enemy under his fire. Impact force is still the same or less ( even if the round is `larger`) Overall, I recommend buying it only if you really like Railgun and the mechanics associated with it but want to deal a little more damage. Turrets like smoky and thunder outperform it in every situation imaginable.

    Yep, Magnum's second alteration(who thought of this?) and railgun's first alteration(with the already terrible vertical angle!!!) are both practically useless. I had way better ideas than the designers.

    My thoughts: The only two worthwhile alterations seem to isida's support nanobots and smoky's supercritical shot. Striker's Launcher alteration can be a force to be reckoned with in the hands of a skilled player. Railgun's destabilising shot alteration is just what I predicted. Could be effective if high damage and low damage shots alternate. Freeze's shock freezing coupled with wasp overdrive can be an intimidating attack combo. Btw, firebird's Compact Tanks received a buff (rate of heating)?? As for all the other <<new>>alterations, the cons way outweigh the pros and they don't seem like they are worth it. Please share what you think if your opinions are different. :)

    Firebird is too OP. But as with Freeze and Magnum nothing is OP forever. Firebird will definitely get nerfed soon.

    The last alteration for railgun looks shell destabilisation because it looks similar to rico's first alteration. This will probably widen the damage range and result in either very low damage shots or very high damage shots. I wonder how isida's attack nanobots alteration will work. Maybe then isida will be the turret able to kill firebird at close range.

    Yeah, I agree with some type of buff to rotation speed, auto aim, impact force, reload time and maybe minimum damage.

    Maybe like many players suggested, I am starting to think the problem doesn't really lie in the turret but the abundance of rail module against it. So I suggest a nerf to protection modules depending on the effectiveness of the turret. I am saying, % protection works differently against different turrets even within the same class. For Twins,it takes just 1-3 seconds longer to destroy a full health tank equipping 35% resistance against twins. But for Hammer, the damage reduction is far more profound because it will be impossible for Hammer to destroy a medium tank on full health with 35% resistance. In conclusion, the same protection level is far more effective for one turret than another. Similarly, 50% resistance against Shaft means the the player with it still has to be wary but the same against Vulcan means players with fully MU'ed shark module don't need to pay much heed to vulcans. This is why it is very difficult for Railgun user to destroy a tank equipping 50% resistance because it's already low DPS is cut in half but for Isida, it's less difficult. So I think high DPS turrets should have higher protections(up to 50%) while low DPS turrets should have lower protections against it. ( For eg. Falcon module resistance should be capped at 35-40%). This is my personal opinion.

    I already have the m2 alteration and I had bought it long ago. You clearly understood my point and even acknowledged that Railgun is weak in a fair game. Many legend ranked players exclusively play these types of PRO battles. If you were playing only for a year, perhaps you did not know how the turret was prior to 2016 when it was strong and reliable with more consistent damage. You said that railgun doesn't need a buff. Then how about returning railgun to how it was prior to 2016? That wouldn't classify as buff. If it did, then you are indirectly accepting that Railgun was nerfed since 2016. And yes, you are right. I wouldn't complain if players stopped equipping rail modules. Nevertheless I prefer the old railgun which cannot 1 shot light hulls but deliver reliable very high damage at any range.

    I think you have misunderstood what I said. I asked you to try playing in PRO battles with supplies deactivated. There everyone is in the same position since there is no question of using supplies.Alterations are not part of the turret, they are just optional additions which serve to provide a varied gameplay experience. If what you are saying is true, do you mean each and every railgun user has to purchase an alteration to make his turret decent? My point is Freeze, Firebird,Isida , Thunder and Twins perform very well without ANY alterations so why not Railgun? If what I am said before has to be verified, one only has to play in a PRO battle with microupgrades, alterations,supplies,drops deactivated. Here it's a level playing field but one can easily see how Railgun badly underperforms in comparison to other turrets.

    Railgun requires an increase in auto aim too because everyone knows it has a horrible cone angle. With regards to close range survivability, Thunder has fast reload and high DPS Magnum- no need to say anything Shaft has arcade shots But railgun suffers a lot in melee engagements. That's why it requires an increase in rotation speed or rotation acceleration.

    You argument simply doesn't make sense. Most of the players requesting a buff to Railgun are skilled high ranking players who rightfully feel that it's too weak at high ranks - exactly the opposite of what you are saying. And your inability to leverage Railgun's weaknesses to your advantage does not make Railgun powerful, it's just a bad excuse.

    First of all, railgun cannot one shot medium hulls with DP since 2016.Secondly, I was talking about railgun. No one here was talking about drugs. You are simply deluding yourself into thinking that. What about thunder? Thunder can two shot five out of seven hulls and one shot kill all light hulls in the game the same way.

    No Railgun should be buffed because it is inherently weak against all other turrets in the game. Get that in your head.

    I have already listed the reasons why thunder urgently requires a nerf. There is simply no reason to nerf railgun as it is already very weak against thunder. thunder seems to be superior in all aspects - damage output, reload time, firing rate, impact force, auto aim, rotation speed, projectile velocity, etc.
