Smoky (and I've now got M1/10 Smoky on a W02 account, fun). I don't think I'm very good with it (or that I'd be much better with any other turret) and I often feel outgunned by Thunder and Ricochet (I see more of those than Twins at the moment), but it's a lot of fun and most kills feel earned. And that feeling you get when you snipe someone (especially Shafts) at maximum range with DD + critical hit... ^14XX^ awesome...

I've only been playing this game for 10 weeks, but (new) Massacre is one of my favorite Maps (for CP mostly, ASL is tough for Red). It's a good test of driving and aiming for Smoky, and rewarding to get an almost 100% hit rate. Circle strafing people occupying the tops of hills is fun too. But it's annoying when your team doesn't advance and allows Vulcans or other long range turrets to occupy the high spots. It can be "checkmate in three" when that happens. Sometimes I've had to make a suicidal charge (with Overdrive or full [box] drugs) at a Vulcan on Massacre (or the Isida behind it) in order to create a break for my team. But still not OP, just a specialist turret that should be a priority target, and not that hard to kill / out-maneuver at close range when it's anticipated your attack (unlike Magnum, which just one-shots you)

Two of them doing suppression fire on Massacre is horrible.

I had a few issues with a drugged-up Vulcan / Titan in a lower ranks battle today (on Bridges too, urgh). Smoky v Vulcan is tough one. But I don't think it's OP. The problem was they sometimes teamed up with another Vulcan (Viking). All of the long range turrets can be a serious problem when they team up, but I think Vulcan might be the worst for that.

(Week 10 on my first account, finally) 125 SB 100 of all Supplies (Uncommon) 3500 Crystals 3500 Crystals Meh, at least one Rare one would have been nice. (I'd give a like to the next post, but they don't they have a "Common flush" of 125 DD / DA / SB / Mines)

I had to put in some hours on my first account (one I'm not that bothered about) in order to get the discount on a final MU. It's also the account I use drugs on (trying to see how far I get without them on the other two, including this one, but must start using Mines), and I've been drugging like mad (but not full-time) to get those crystals. I feel a bit guilty. But I'll have an M1/10 Smoky at W02 (soon to be W03) in a few days. Fun times... until my Hunter gets nerfed by a stupid defensive Overdrive anyway. Get my Week 10 Containers on that account tomorrow (my first Week 10). Hopefully I replenish my funds a bit.

Poor Hunters indeed. I feel as if I'm about to be nerfed. I don't want to use Supplies (or Drones), but now I'll have to if I want my Overdrive to give me an advantage over opponents instead of merely un-drug them. Goodbye to using Overdrive as an offensive / attacking thing. Might have to switch to another Medium. I'd rather keep the existing Overdrive for all hulls (but limit the sharing to one other tank) and have different (but not OP) secondary effects for each one.

Thanks for replying. I might only go up to M1/9 with Smoky on those and leave the final step for another sale (and buy the Assault Ammo Alt. for 25K instead), but the jump in stats from 9 to 10 is bigger than for all of the rest... urgh... Why are M0 protections useless. 2.5K (discount) + 100 crystals for 11% protection seems like good value to me? (better than 15K [discount] + 100 crystals for 16% protection for M1)

Urgh, I dunno what to do re imminent sales (last one for a while too) Newest account is doing quite well and is already M0/10 (Hunter) and M1/3 (Smoky) at First Sergeant (33000 XP), will probably get the turret up to M1/4 and three M0 Modules Not sure what to do with the other two, and whether I should spend nearly all of my crystals on MUs up to M1/10 Smoky. The six steps would cost 99220 crystals, but the 50/70 discount means I can do five of them in one day get the 50% of the last one, saving about 4000 crystals (95426). If start the 5th MU now, I'll save another 1000 crystals because I won't need to speed it up. One is WO2 (89000 XP) and the other is WO4 (145000 XP), so I'd end up with M1/1-2 Hunter and M1/10 Smoky on both, but no crystals left on the W02 and 50000 on the WO4, enough for three M1 Modules in the sale. Or I could abandon Smoky on those two and buy and mostly MU another turret to see what they are like, urgh. Confused. (with the MU sales were longer or just had 75% discount on speed ups; I can save a lot of time, but not a lot of crystals)

I'm still agnostic about drones because of their running costs. I don't like them and think they're an over-complication (my ideal TO battle would have no Supplies apart from Mines and people would use Overdrive + dropped Supplies), but few people at my ranks can afford to use them. I haven't seen any yet. Matchmaking can be a pain, but the Battle Fund change takes a lot of the sting out of it. What's really upset is the increase in price of Modules. They had to increase because of the benefits of make-your-own Modules, but not by that much. I don't think the focus on hull, one turret, and one triple Module strategy for non-buyers is viable anymore; decent protection is now buyers-only.

Another annoyance. I never bought any of the M1 Smoky Product Kits because I didn't like their protections. I just MU'd Smoky / Hunter on my newest account (helped by getting a 10K crystal container in my first week). Now they're all bargains (especially Striker) and a threat to me because they've got M1 Smoky protection.

I think a lot of people (me included) rely it on a lot for Daily Missions in ASL/CTF/RGB and like the kill streak / rage mode aspect, so few complaints. Although I don't really know why I don't have a problem with Overdrive but hate Supplies. I'd tweak it though. Can only share it with one other player. 10% chance of self-destruction if you share it with another player (they get the Overdrive, but you die). I'd fix the runaway problem for the winning team being able to use it more often than the losing team by linking charging to driving / moving, which would discourage camping. MM is still infuriating at times. I'm not that fussy about maps, but having a run of battles on maps you used to avoid isn't much fun.

It's hard to get excited about being able make 24 groups of 3 things out of 4 things when the cost of the things has increased by 200%. (I've already got to Smoky/Hunter M0/10 at Master Sergeant on my latest account and I thought I could easily get the 15K for Kodiak T-F M1 in the sale, so there goes that plan. Might as well forget about protection against multiple turrets; that's buyers-only territory now)

I wish I'd known that the cost of the module I was thinking about buying in the sale (I'm a casual and average and non-buying player, so I can barely afford one module, forget about several) was going to triple. Buying three of the new M1 singles costs as much as many M2 turrets and hulls.

Me too I think (really annoyed about missing out on much cheaper protection). I have the most fun in this game in the lower ranks where huge gaps in competitiveness / equipment levels haven't opened up yet; if I start seeing drones etc. at my lowest rank, then that could be quitting time. (MM just put in a CP battle where my team was already losing badly, sigh)

I used to choose to play on Highways, Brest, and Desert a lot. I like those maps (especially for CP), even with Hunter / Smoky. Sometimes there were just too many Shafts etc. and I had to quit, but that didn't happen all the time. I don't want maps to be removed from MM (every map has fans), but I would accept longer waiting times if I could avoid the small number of maps that I don't like. (ASL needs to be split in to "ASL red" and "ASL blue"; I hardly ever play blue because of flag capture missions)

Damn. I should have bought modules before the update too. On my lowest rank account (no protection on that one yet), getting started is going to cost me 15K instead of 5K At least they could have renamed all of the modules to "Turret M0/1/2/3"... the names are dumb... (but drones being so expensive to use is a slight relief; I don't think there will be many super-druggers at my ranks)
