TOPIC UPDATED (FOR THE LAST AND FINAL TIME)! So I guess this is Goodbye! After nearly four years of running this topic, I've thought it high time to hang up my boots as it's slowly become and more tiresome as life becomes more and more busy. Much thanks to Sha who has been willing to take over. Won't be leaving the Community (At least for the present time), but the topic will be switching hands to what I'm sure will be a much more committed topic leader. Since this is the last update I'll be doing, I've always said that I wanted at least one month to be completed (All dates filled) by the time I quit, or at least by the end of the year, and January, August and September are COMPLETE MONTHS! Couple are just one day away so shouldn't be too long before the thing fills up! And I'll just give the leaderboard again of the leading birthdays in terms of numbers! 1. March 3rd - 9 Birthdays (Bruce Lunga, smerch891, patmitchman, vlad024i, donatometafune, DEMONEKxD, Rollingthunders, ll.Survive.or.Die.ll, gt_Evolution) 2. January 1st - 8 Birthdays = February 22nd - 8 Birthdays = March 16th - 8 Birthdays = April 28th - 8 Birthdays = August 16th - 8 Birthdays = September 23rd - 8 Birthdays = November 19th - 8 Birthdays = December 17th - 8 Birthdays And a little personal message to say Bye! (Paint on my arm, don't get too excited) Sha, please copy over the list and create the new topic when next possible!

[Issue 38] RIP Tanki: Top 20 Most-Missed Moments
hogree replied to hogree in [Issue 38] RIP Tanki: Top 20 Most-Missed Moments Newspaper Archive
Over the last six years, Tanki's History has definitely had its Ups and Downs with many memorable moments to grace the game. Some have been memorable for all the wrong reasons but in this article, we'll be remembering some of the most-missed parts of Tanki from its illustrious history! The countdown begins at 20 before we reach the most-missed aspect of Tanki from my perspective. Have your say at the bottom. Let's go! 20. Carousel Carousel has to be one of the most far-reached memories of the game, of which only a handful of English players nowadays would remember. Released in March 2011, it was added to the game temporarily for the purpose of a "Race" Competition that would take place, one of the first in-game contests to hit Tanki. (To watch the Race Final, click here for a video!) I have fond memories of the map and it creeps into my top 20 due to its fantastic gameplay. The packed centre visible in the image was the only section at which tanks would spawn whilst the course running around the map was perfect for snipers to make a quick getaway. An exciting map though perhaps not as keenly remembered as many other parts of Tanki's history. 19. Buying Experience Feature The Buying-Experience Fiasco that accompanied the Rebalance is infamous in the minds of many, but it does have that novelty factor about it. The ability to buy 1000 Experience Points for just 100 Crystals (1000 in today's currency) was one of the main talking points for a number of months after the Rebalance came out. Although I used it to a minimal extent (from Major to Major General), did you know that if Lhamster didn't buy experience during that period in early 2013 he would still probably be a Colonel? Although the Experience Buying did go, the memory of that period of cheap ranking up for all ranks is vivid in my memory. 18. Old Ricochet Parkour Parkour Junkies will remember this from all the way up till the Physics Changes during 2013. The ease at which Ricochet climbed up walls was something that enabled even the worst parkourists like me to get into smart positions - something impossible with the current physics system. One of the most popular positions was behind a wall in the old Highland which required the knockback that Ricochet gave. The parkour era during the Wolf Battles of 2012 was one of the most illustrious times of parkour in the English Community and displayed the love that many went on to show by joining groups such as the TFP in far more advanced parkour than simple houses, enabled by the newer physics system. 17. The Old Homepage I know this is an unpopular view but for me, the old Homepage was better than the new. Smart, clear and less cluttered - I was extremely fond of it. So when in February 2014 the new Homepage was released, it wasn't just a sad moment in taking away a part of the old Tanki which I loved but also I genuinely preferred it. On top of that, the "Tanki blog" posts it contained in the bottom right-hand corner of the page was full of great memories for myself including the Scavenger Hunts that Bruce always provided and the very first Tanki's got Talent - on me!! :D 16. Moon Silence Although I put this low on the list, for many, this has to be one of the biggest "RIP Moments" in Tanki's history. The memory of this map is fond to so many - the Ricochet-Wasp parkours, Halloween gold boxes and the epic drug wars stick out in memory for many involved. With that touch of lack of control just adding an extra dynamism to the map and the beautiful skybox, it was a treasure for many players. Many complained at its removal and still do - and although I never joined in with the massive hype about this map, it is missed by many. 15. Downvote Kick Feature Another controversial one which I've added to this list due to my own personal convictions of the benefits that this once had. Although it was removed a number of months ago now, it was personally one of the best things to enhance the gaming experience for higher-ranked players. Yes, it was abused, but it was really useful. So although there are mixed emotions on this one, it helped so many potentially ruined games to be played out fairly and for that, I appreciate it. 14. The Old Happy New Year Map (2011, 2012) Ooh. Now, this is a fun one. Another one that may be foreign to some. Of course the concept is familiar to us all - the New Year's Celebration has had a special map for five years now. However, what I class as the original Happy New Year Map of January 2011 was quite unique in how it was run, particularly due to the constant stream of crystal boxes that fell from the tree. The crystal boxes also held an extra-dynamic factor since each had an unknown value that ranged from 1-10 crystals (10-100 in today's currency). The 2012 Map was designed the same but instead of such a range, there were simply occasional 2 Crystal Boxes to add a twist. As it was designed as the simple Sandbox but also focused on a tree in the middle, it made for an extremely fun battle for the drops at the centre of the map and I was gutted to see it depart to the more snazzy-looking New Year maps of the later years. 13. Personalized Battle Names Much more fresh in the memory to most of us, the introduction of the new Battle List in late 2014 was unpopular with many - and one main reason was that they could no longer create their own names of battles. Memories of creating names from the No Supplies "Orange Alert CTF" on Server 2, "Join all English speakers" Farm CTF's from the 2011 days and "XP-Ketchup" from the more recent sit fondly in the memory. And although I was one who supported the introduction of the new battle list due to the fantastic organization it gave each server as well as the Formats it was soon followed by, I still miss the time I could add that little notch of banter to each of my battles! 12. The Molotov Gold Box One for the more veteran players, this "Special Gold Box Event" is certainly one that goes down in Tanki Legend and I wish there'd be something like this again. I'm sure most of you readers will know of the 700-Fund Gold Box that fell for the first few years of the game. During Summer 2011, Tanki hosted a special gold box event for a week where one "secret" map would have a special 1000 Crystal (10,000 in today's currency) Gold Box that would fall each time the battle fund reached 1000 (Same value as earlier) fund. Quickly discovered to be Molotov, it turned into a wild feast for the higher ranks and each player who earned one gained immediate status. For a video, click here. 11. Space Madness The Space Madness week during April 2011 reaches back into the long-of-old history of the game but was another golden legendary moment that is missed by many veterans who experienced it. If you thought Moon Silence was tough too control, boy you need to get out more. The gravity in this map was virtually non-existent - yes, non-existent is the right word here. You could float here. Taster of the gameplay here. 10. Old Massacre CTF Legendary for a large amount of the Drugging English Community that grew up during the 2012 era, of whom the majority have left by now. Massacre CTF's were along with Silences the home of the druggers during that period with several 999 Flag battles being hosted in those battlefields. The reason they were so popular is that due to the small number of players (5v5) and position of flags in "Reverse CTF" Mode made for fast-paced quick-capture gameplay. Still remember one time when I was a weak little WO1 against M3's and capping a flag with just a Nitro and M0 Hornet. So much pride in one moment. :D 9. Bruce Lunga What a legend. The man that kickstarted the English Community. For those who grew up during the 2012 Era of the English Community, you were lucky to have a man like this. The contests that he kicked off and the teams that he helped to establish are the core for the Community that we have nowadays. Although he disappeared during early 2013, his presence in the English Community and role he has played will never be taken for granted. Legend is the best word. Would have finished higher if he was more well-known across the game and he probably deserves it. I may be biased but this guy was a top top top bloke. 8. The 100 Crystal Boxes Infamous for many. And yet somehow missed too, almost in a guilty way, by those who experienced the fun that this was. Although yes, it did ruin CTF Battles, it was somewhat fun. Having a couple of days of constant box-hunting. Shameful but at the same time shameless. Accompanying the long-awaited Predictable Drops, it did wreak havoc in the game for a couple of days with the mad hunt for crystals falling from the sky. The sad fact that it led to the removal of crystal boxes marrs it in the eyes of many and yet the Desert DM rushes for the Crystal Box Spots were such fun. 7. Fully Upgraded Garage at Second Lieutenant We reach the top few moments that are missed and this fact does go down in legend just for how odd it seems today. Up until the end of 2012, a complete garage, fully-upgraded, could be acquired by the meagre rank of Two Diamonds (Second Lieutenant). Place a Marshal against a Second Lieutenant and they would be on exactly the same terms. I mean, just look at the picture, a Major with the strongest hull in the game fully-upgraded. Insane to many of the players today who are used to unlocking some of the M2s at as high a rank as Colonel. And don't forget, you could get M3 Smoky by Staff Sergeant. For the buyers, it was brilliant. The low costs also meant that those who didn't buy could feed off it too, although not so well. It has improved with the rebalancing of December 2012, but still legendary nonetheless and certainly missed by the many who quit the game at the major shakup that this caused. 6. Blue Fire Blue Fire - just an example of the wonderful graphics that once graced Tanki and is treasured amongst many who experienced the glory of it. Nowadays, people look back at it as if it was some kind of joke cheap tacky game. But we loved it and the irony was that there were complaints galore when the new textures came out during 2012. The Blue Flame was but one of the many beautiful things of the old game - the Pink Firebird, Bright Orange Smoky Shots, Booming Yellow Thunders, Fiery Orange Ricochets; not to mention Pink & Purple Railgun Shots and Blue & Orange Isida Beams. Although the lighting was dismal back then, the completely fake and yet vividly powerful colours made up for it! 5. Smoky XT Smoky XT is one of the few things from the extremely old days of Tanki that many many remember. Just for the novelty factor. The similarity it had to the temporary Railgun XT is legitimate in how it cost fair dollar and was only in the game for a short period of two weeks but its power was above and beyond anything Railgun could have dreamed of. The power of an M3 Thunder with the speedy respawn of the Smoky - it was a sight to behold. To take a glimpse of the gameplay, have a peek here. 4. "Normal" Drug Wars Some don't miss them - to many, these were the days when druggers spoiled the battlefield. To me, these were the days when the most intense games to grace Tanki Online were played on a regular basis. Drug Wars had a dynamism to them that was quite special. The ability to control when you stay alive with the First Aid and having tanks with so much more power than they would otherwise was so much fun when you came up against another team of hardcores. Oh man, I miss them. You get the artificial ones occasionally made on Silences in RU4 these days but the brilliance of transforming a regular battle into a full-blooded drug war with your friends had such a buzz incorporated that it finishes this high in my list. Oh, baby, I miss you. 3. Hall of Fame The Hall of Fame goes further back than all other parts of this article, reaching into August 2011 when it was removed for good from the game. Detailing the ability of different tankers in a hall of every player in the game, it was removed for technical reasons and unable to hold on the Tanki Servers any longer. However, although the figures still remain somewhere in a hidden safe in Perm, the Hall of Fame was a thing to be honoured and still held in Tanki legend by many players who wait eagerly for its return one long-lost day. Showing the ability of a player by their kills and deaths had a kudos factor that has been lost to us today, sadly. A legendary item. RIP the Hall of Fame. 2. The 700-Fund Gold Box We reach our top 2. This was fighting for top spot, believe me, but I edged it to second due to what I felt was certainly a deserving winner. The 700-Fund Gold Box is held in renown from many tankers, some who experienced it, some who didn't. The experience of waiting till the fund reached 700 and then waiting nervously for the next 20-30 fund to see when it would drop was something quite unique in the game. The Gold Box will be dropped soon never carried that effect and neither did the Random Gold Box that reigned during early 2013. It was quite quite quite special. A heart-pumping feeling that grabbed you and I wish that it would come back even though I love the current system to bits. The 700 Gold Box was special and it still is. 1. Crystal Boxes And our winner. And I think you'll probably agree with me on this. The thing almost all players in this game miss the most. Crystal Boxes, presents dropping from the Sky, wrenched from our lovely screens after the experiment almost a year ago. A special item, it carried so many different shapes and sizes over the years and I still believe it will return to us one day. The feeling of grabbing a crystal as a low rank was special and I feel for all who don't experience it these days. As a high rank, I appreciated what Tanki did in increasingly battle funds but I also miss those special special boxes. RIP is the only fitting way to greet such a legendary piece of Tanki. It's been a long day without you my friend; and I'll tell you all about it when I see you again. My top twenty RIP Moments. How about yours? Have your say below!- 107 replies

Interview [Issue 38] Meet the New Reporters!
hogree replied to hogree in [Issue 38] Meet the New Reporters! Newspaper Archive
Fresh faces in the Press! After searching around for some new reporters, we have found three prospective reporters ready to take on the job. From their favourite Tanki combination to their first-choice superpower, join me as we find out all about them! sonofchrysalis3 A new face in the community, this mysterious character has made a name for himself with his impeccable writing and superb subject choices in essays posted on the forum, leading to his entrance into the Newspaper team. hogree: Hiya! Firstly could you tell us a bit about yourself and who you are? sonofchrysalis3: I'm a changeling living in Ponyville, where I have lived for about two years. I work in a gemstone mine when I'm not playing tanki. hogree: Woo. Fun life. Any actual details on who you are or where you're from? sonofchrysalis3: Oh, so I can't fib here? Okay, I'm twenty and I manage a crew of Grocery stockers in a store near Savannah, GA. I really hate breaking character. Almost as much as I hate Kale. Ever eat kale? hogree: Oh believe me I've eaten kale. Call me a heretic but it's got a nice background taste. Yep I said it. So how long have you been playing Tanki for and what brought you into the game? sonofchrysalis3: I have been playing it for nine months, and I started because my neighbor Bon Bon suggested it... :|The human version of that is that I stumbled onto it one day on Miniclip. hogree: Classic bit of miniclip. Right. So in your tanking life what's your favourite stuff to use? And every favourite maps or Gameplay styles that suit you? sonofchrysalis3: Two months ago, I would've told you that Isida rules the world, and that Railgun is horrible because it takes years to reload and just as long to rotate. Now i have to say that Railgun is one of my favorites. Isida is still the boss of my garage, but Railgun has my respect now. My favorite hull would be Hornet, but I do love Titan. I started out using Titan and Twins on the Cross DM map, so I get those nostalgic vibes when I strap on the old Titan and head out to the battle. Favorite map is Brest CTF, hooves down... excuse me, HANDS down. So that pretty much reveals my favorite mode, CTF. I'm very good at grabbing stuff and runnning like mad. Don't interpret that wrong. Brest is the best CTF map in the universe and the six others because it has two clearly defined sides... I mean, there are two forts, for Alexander's sake... and flag-runners have several good routes to escape with their prize. Incidentally, my favorite turret for Brest is Hammer, not Isida or Railgun. My next favorite map is Cross DM, just because I feel at home there. I learned the fundamentals of Tanki while I was tossing tanks and making memories on its little overpass. It's so profoundly wonderful, I think I might just cry... sniff. YOU WILL BOW BEFORE THE AWESOME WONDERFULLNESS OF CROSS DM, JOSHUA!!!! I SWEAR IT! No matter that it takes an eternity, YOU WILL BOW DOWN BEFORE ME! Er, Cross. Did I spell "wonderfullness" correctly? Whatever. hogree: Right... Got it. So why are you joining the Newspaper team? What made you interested in becoming a Reporter? sonofchrysalis3: I'm joining the newspaper team because I wanted to see if Fen'Harel is actually a Foot Rest, and yes, ladies and gentletankers, he is in fact a cozy place to rest your soles. Just be sure to wash them first. The man has had scores of tootsies parked upon his noggin, so he's become quite the afficionado. Okay, Fen's giving me the evil eye over there, so THE SECOND REASON I'm joining the reporter team is because I positively love to write. My dream in life is to write for television. Could you tell? :D I'll bet you can't guess which show I want to write for the most! The pony-character thing is something I dreamt up while playing on my now-dormant alt account sonofchrysalis2. I was buzzing around Madness DM one day and some guy was trying to convince everytanki that he was an alien. I was amused and inspired. I found that writing from a pony's point of view was not only as fun as could be, it helped me get into the mind of ponies, which helped me write the spec scripts I'm working on. Writing for Tanki has given me the first real chance to see whether I'm any good at writing or not. I originally had no interest in even reading the Newsletter, much less writing for it. I saw GoldRock's very generous compliment in my "How Playing Tanki Has Changed Me" story's reply section and, at first, yawned at the suggestion to apply for the Reporter position. I was content with posting my stuff on the Off-Topic forum. Then I got to thinking about the value of official writing experience, and how writing for Tanki's paper would give me the opportunity to expose the entire community to my work. I would know from the community's responses if I lacked the talent I'm trying to market. Thank Celestia and Optimus Prime (want to write for Transformers: Rescue Bots too), my first two articles didn't receive the scornful laugh I feared they would. Well, Remaine laughed, but that was about something entirely different... hogree: Brilliant. Alright, moving on. If you could describe yourself in 3 words what would they be? sonofchrysalis3: "Figuring It Out". I'm at the point in my life where I examine myself, my principles, my goals, my talents, and try to sort out why I'm here and where I'm going. I know I have a loving family and a loving God standing with me and supporting me, so I have no worries to hold me down. I know that, no matter what I pursue or accomplish, they will always have my back, and I will always have theirs. hogree: Awesome. Well, if you could choose a unique superpower what would it be? sonofchrysalis3: I would spray cream cheese from my fingertips!!! Naw, I'd be extradimensional. I'd be able to access a realm of time and space that no one else could, and I'd use it to help the world. I could end wars, prevent disasters, feed millions, and change history, all before you finish reading this sentence. I"d also find Remaine and haunt him with foot rests for the "remaine"der of his life. He'd open the bathroom door one morning to find a foot rest in his bathtub, then run to the kitchen to find one on his dinnertable. It'd serve him right, teasing poor Footsie Harel like he does. hogree: Well played. Right, let's close this thing, you've talked too much already. What can we expect to see from your pen as a reporter? Any specialities? sonofchrysalis3: I'm working on a few things right now, most notably a pair of story serieses. The first, entitled "Deathmatch" is about halfway finished, and will be ready in a few months. The second will explore my pony character's dark, bumpy past and his happy life now. "A Changeling's Journey" will be the title. I'm also hoping to begin a series of map guides called "Down To a Science" that will cover every map the Reporter team hasn't already gotten to. I'd like to see if the rest of the team will help keep it going, but you know how hard it is to get Kevred out of bed and working, so we'll just have to wait and see.... Ah, and you can expect me to continue writing as a pony. I'm a little upset that you dragged me out of character like this, in spite of me warning you that I like to remain anonymous, but I doubt many tankers will even read this part of your article. They'll be too busy enjoying TNT and greyat's interviews to notice me admitting I'm a human, so the illusion is still intact. HAHAHAHAHAAAA! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go make an alt account in which I pretend I'm an Autobot. hogree: Awesome! Cheers mate! TriNitroToIuene A dedicated and accomplished writer, TNT has always been an avid Newspaper reader and must have one of the most illustrious Newspaper-contest trophy cabinets. Formerly known as pratyushpadmanabhan, the improvement his writing has taken in recent months and well-graced knowledge of the Press marks him out as a reporter to watch. hogree: Hiya TNT. Great to be able to chat to you today. Mind by starting by telling us a bit about yourself and who you are? TriNitroToIuene: Hello, hog! I'm TriNitroToIuene to tankers, and to human's I'm called Pratyush! I'm 14 years old and I'm from India; more precisely, hailing from a state called Kerala. I'm currently in the ninth grade with a lot of interest in math, and am planning to take up a career in the same. My NON academic hobbies include Tanki (of course) and also playing badminton and reading. hogree: Decent decent! So how did you discover Tanki and how long have you been playing for? TriNitroToIuene: Well, in July 2013, Tanki was the absolute RAGE in my colony. At that time, in the school bus, the only thing one could hear was 'Tanki this' and 'Tanki that'. Under immense peer pressure, I created my first account called pratyushpadmanabhan, thinking I'd quit a few days later. I didn't. I stayed on for a long time since then, quickly moving through the ranks (and remaining a nug for a majority of this time). A month after I discovered Tanki, I discovered the forum, and I must say it was great to interact with other English-speaking Tankers! The only other English I had heard in the game was 'gold box plz' :P. At that time, I didn't even know what a gold box was! Halfway through eighth grade, however, my studies started taking more priority than the game. Thus, I started playing INCREDIBLY rarely and barely ranked. I did, however write a lot in the forum! Now, I almost never play, I just hangout on the forum, and my, it's an incredible place to be! hogree: Cool cool. So what made you interesting in joining the Newspaper Team? TriNitroToIuene: So basically, my story is kind of an amalgamation of Kevred's and sonofchrysalis3's journeys. I was always interested in poetry and writing, and used to frequently win prizes for creative writing in school. I did try and take part in a few writing contests in Tanki in my nug days, but obviously didn't win. But, however, in the Continue the Story Chapter 4 contest which kirby created, I entered and a month later, I was shocked to find that I had actually won! Accolades started flowing (through PM, mostly) and I also became good friends with Kevred. Then, I wrote for the editorials, and was pleasantly surprised when tony990_superstar invited me to join what was then the 'Tanki Writing Club'. This was the actual start of my full-fledged writing career. I wrote a lot of articles in the forum, getting more and more experienced in writing. When the Writing Club closed, I started freelancing. Before this, however, I actually got contacted by conan for an interview for reporter. But, I didn't have Skype then. Tragedy of tragedies! hogree: Well, you're finally here! So as a pretty experienced low-ranked tanker, what's your current favourite combination? Any favourites in terms of maps, gameplay etc.? Better at writing or playing? :P TriNitroToIuene: Well, I've stayed for two years in the game, and I've had a lot of diverse choices of hulls and turrets so far. In the beginning, I had no idea what various turrets did and I ended up choosing Firebird and Wasp because they 'sounded cool'. It wasn't so bad, considering what happened next. Then, around WO1, I decided to go with Rico and Mammoth, but I broke the habit - I wasn't meant for heavy hulls. I used Isida and Hornet a lot, and in fact, they were the first M2s I did. But, my current unchallenged favourite would be XP. I discovered this combo in the Tankman's day sale last year, and since then, I've become a pro at it B). I can very efficiently use this combo and recently started playing XP battles. I've not regretted it. My favourite mode of gameplay is CP (not Polygon, k?) I used to love playing in those old Iran CPs way back then. As for maps, I love Silence and Sandbox, and loved Combe till they introduced reverse CTF on it. I also love playing in Massacre CTFs, as they're pretty much free-for-all fights! And yep, I'd say I was good at both! I won't favour either side! hogree: Right. If you could describe yourself in three words what would they be? TriNitroToIuene: Resourceful, Imaginative and Good-natured! Frankly, before, I would have said 'disciplined', but unfortunately, adoloscence strips many innocent kids of that! XD hogree: Tell me about it... Time for the fun question. What about a unique superpower? What would you choose? TriNitroToIuene: A-ha! Glad you asked! If you gave me all the time in the world, or even if you held me at gunpoint, I'd say it would be the power to see what's going on anywhere in the world, just by closing my eyes. It'll be useful to get inspiration for material I'm writing, and also it'd be fun if I could close my eyes while studying to see some soccer match or occupy myself just as usefully :P. And it'd also be useful to watch movies while they're still in theatres, because I hardly go for any! xD hogree: Unoriginal but nonetheless awesome. Right I'll round it off now - what can we expect to see from your pen in the coming issues? Specialise in any genres? TriNitroToIuene: Hmm.. well, as to that, I really can't be sure. I prefer to keep hopping from genre to genre in search of a good article, but you could expect a lot of guides, some poems here and there, and oh, yes, stories! I'm planning to write articles on things which tankers tend to overlook in their daily routine of drugging.... er...... playing. And yes, as far I'm concerned, I'm mostly intending to write thrillers! But, overall, whatever I write, I always want to do something the community will appreciate! hogree: Brilliant. Well, looking forward to getting to work with you mate. Welcome to the team! Any last words (Choose wisely)? TriNitroToIuene: Okay, Tankers.... it's going to be a long journey for me ahead as a reporter. But, in the times to come, you'll see, there's more to me than meets the eye! Get ready to have some explosions from TNT! hogree: Woop! Can't wait. Thanks! greyat Another writer who has been on the cards as a potential candidate in the Newspaper team for a while, greyat's superb ability at portraying information in words and well-voiced understanding of the game was reason for his entrance into the Reporter team. hogree: Evening Dr. Cat. Could you tell us a bit about yourself and who you are? greyat: Hi, I’m a 16 year old Grey Cat currently residing in the United States. hogree: Sweet. So how did you join Tanki and how long have you been playing for? greyat: I believe I joined Tanki in the summer of 2013, and have been playing on and off ever since, a cumulative two years or so. hogree: Cool. What'd be your favourite combination and do you have any preferable map choices or Gameplay styles? greyat: My favorite combination cycles frequently; currently it is Smoky-Wasp with Prodigi, but has ranged from BP to Thunder-Dictator, but I always enjoy practicing hit-and-run techniques. As for my favorite map, I enjoy playing Polygon CP purely for the large amount of crystals one can rake in doing so, but in terms of pure aesthetics, I find Courage to be a wonderful map. hogree: Yes, my son! Courage is a gem. Love it. So why are you joining the Newspaper team? What made you interested in becoming a Reporter? greyat: I’ve always been interested in writing, and given the… other benefits of the position, decided to apply. But in the end, this is only an excellent way to give back to the community which has given so much support, using one of my few strengths. hogree: Great! *wink wink* Moving on to the slightly more fun questions - If you could describe yourself in 3 words what would they be? greyat: I’d describe myself as (fairly) intelligent for a cat, grey, and furry. hogree: And how about if you could choose a unique superpower - what would that be? greyat: Clearly I already have superpowers being a cat and all that, so additional ones are not necessary. hogree: Fair enough. lol. Well, now you've joined the team, what can we expect to see from your pen as a reporter? greyat: As for my writing style, all I have to say is that humor is not my strong suite. I try do inject some measure of it occasionally in my writing, but it’s rather artificial. Guides are nice, though, and I like writing stories… though the mortality rate of most my pieces is extremely high. hogree: Awesome. Well, thanks for taking part! Been a pleasure; and welcome to the team. greyat: Thanks! Well, that's the interviews over, but you guys still can play a part in the future articles coming from the pens of each of these new reporters. Do get involved by suggesting articles for the upcoming issues, over on our "Newspaper Requests!" Topic linked here. If you think you are a good writer and would like to become a reporter too, stay tuned for when applications open! It will be announced in the Newspaper if we do open up again. We may also permanently open newspaper applications in the future, so stay tuned on that! As for you who applied but were not chosen, keep writing! Many of you wrote creditable entries but just didn't pass the barrier we set for our new recruits. And don't forget - you can still enter all the newspaper contests and show off your writing skill there.- 58 replies

ONLY 900 crystals for collecting the huge amount that is 3 REPAIR BOXES?! What a despicable thing for Tanki to do! Ripping us off like that! That is just plain OUT OF ORDER! Are you lot serious? Getting 300 points in a Forest battle and receiving 6000 crystals was an absolute joke. 1000 makes far more sense. Missions were stupid at the beginning. Way too many crystals getting chucked about. Disagree with the sentiment - smart move Tanki.

Other [Issue 36] The Generalissimo's Handbook - Month 3
hogree replied to hogree in Newspaper Archive
Don't forget to send your questions to be answered in the coming handbook! There haven't been many questions yet this issue - you have until the end of today! -
Cheeky.

Nope - it's a double-elimination bracket - now, they will face the loser of All In and Arcade and the loser of that battle will be eliminated. The winner of that battle will go through to face the loser between the two "Semi-Final Winners" (who in this case are A&D and either All In or Arcade).

TOPIC UPDATED! Sorry guys - probably this is all I'll manage nowadays - a simple update. Hope all who've celebrated their special days over the last month had a brilliant time. Will re-iterate again, if ANYONE is interested in taking over this thread and the updates and becoming the owner of the "Happy Birthday" thread, please contact me. I don't feel I'm living up to my role right now.

I do apologise for the lack of updates I promise it shall be done once I return from holiday. I would reiterate that I would be interested if anyone would have a desire to run the Happy Birthday topic and take over from me, as I feel I am not fulfilling my role to its deserved standing.

So you're basically saying from now that any new Generallissimo who reaches 1,499,999 experience points will gain a piece of XT equipment no matter what? Doesn't that completely take away from the novelty factor of them??
